[Clayton POV]
Kaleah takes a deep breath, I can feel her hands tremble, "I…. um… I am pregnant."
The room is first silent, they are probably adding two and two together, grandmother opens her mouth to speak but she doesn't.
"Congratulations," Conan says.
"The father…..." Cyan tries to say but I cut her off at once.
"We don't care about that, we are keeping it," I say firmly glaring at her.
Conan doesn't seem to care but grandmother on the other hand looks too shocked to even speak.
"Grandmother?" Kaleah says, almost in tears.
"Oh… Oh… child, don't, I didn't mean, I am just shocked, I will not be against anything that is your two's decision okay," she finally says, standing from where she sat to wipe the tears off her eyes.
"Hey… we will support you okay, you do not have to be scared." Melisa says; Cyan also walks to hug Kaleah.
She cries as the two women hug and console her, maybe I should have told them sooner, because she would have gotten the support sooner.
"Hey Clayton, can we talk for a bit," Conan says.
I follow him to the kitchen; it seems he wants to talk about a serious matter.
"Are you sure about this?" he asks, making me a bit angry.
"Of course, I am," I say defensive.
"Please love the child as if he is yours," Conan says, it is quite confusing having him be serious like this, "Ellen turned like that because of bad parenting, so the child will turn good as long as you be a good parent to it."
"I will be a good father, I will everything in my power Conan," I say, "it is quite remarkable how everyone is not judging her."
"She is a strong woman, she has been through a lot these past weeks, she deserves some love and support," yeah, Conan sure has grown.
Kaleah stays a bit late rocking Zoey to sleep before she goes to Cyan's room. After a long talk Kaleah finally left Cyan's room to our bedroom.
"That went better than I thought," she says, "I didn't know they would be that supportive."
"See, you were worried about nothing," I say, "can't believe you asked for divorced."
She smiles nervously, before hugging me, "I am sorry, I will do better."
I bury my face on her neck, yeah this, having her my wife in my arms like this, this is what make me happy, "next time communicate when you run into a brick wall."
"I will," she mutters softly.
I slept peacefully for the first time in a long time knowing we will get through this.
[Kaleah POV]
I was impulsive, because I didn't know if he would accept me with a child that is not his, he already accepted Zoey, but this is a different story.
But it seems he wouldn't mind me keeping the child, my therapist, was very shocked after telling her I was keeping the child since I was so adamant in getting rid of it a few days ago.
She also recommended me to her friend who was a marriage counsellor who would oversee mine and Clayton's therapy sessions.
Cyan picked me up after therapy for our much-needed friendship dates, I had been a bit out of date with what was going on in her life.
We decided to visit Aaron's bookstore, I missed having to read those books and be free for a while.
"So, are you ready to be a mommy of two?" Cyan asks, it felt really weird having to prepare for another child so soon.
"I don't know, it is scary, especially the circumstances, Clayton is really supportive about it so I guess we will get through it."
She smiled, "we will all help you okay," she reassured.
"Anyway, Clayton told me about you and Cain, how did he find out?"
"Oh… I was so scared I thought he would freak out and punch Cain in the face," she says, she explains how they broke the news to him and how he is so cool about them being together.
"You make Clayton such a good man you know," she praises me, but I feel I am not deserving of such praise, he is a good man on his own.
"Oh…. You should not say it, he is not that amazing without you, believe me," Cyan reassured.
I feel happy that I am able to meet this supportive family, and my friend was the one who helped me find this family.
"You are an awesome friend you know that" I praise her, and she blushes, how she likes praises.
We continued to read our spicy books before we heard home, Melisa was busy cooking when we got home while Taryn took care of Zoey.
Taryn, who was now dating Conan, would visit Melisa almost every day to help her with Zoey, apparently Melisa was helping sponsor Taryn with her nursing school fees.
But I can see she is trying her luck into getting Conan married too, she always shrugs and denies everything when we ask.
Cyan and I help Melisa with the food as she tries and explains her plan to get Conan married, the plan she said wasn't a plan just a few moments ago.
"What?" she asks, "I gave you and Clayton a nudge to the right direction now look at you are giving me a second grandchild.
She exclaimed proudly, "anyway if I don't succeed with Conan, I can always help Cyan and Cain take their relationship to the next level."
Cyan blushes while I couldn't help laughing, Cyan getting married that would be a good day.
Conan and Clayton return home together, well apparently Conan decided to go back to college, and finish is IT degree, but in the meantime is working with Clayton.
Something about having a stable household with Taryn, it seems Melisa doesn't have to do much work to get him to marry.
I enjoyed the dinner, not having to have any secrets made me feel free and happy, and having the support I needed was such a blessing.
With the help of Melisa and Taryn we had started preparing for Zoey's birthday, well past the Clayton's crazy obsession with princess themed birthdays.
"What, she called me dada first meaning I am the favorite parent meaning I know her better," he exclaimed angering Melisa who in her opinion is the favorite grandparent.
"Can't we just do her favorite carton?" Cyan asks, maybe she was trying to get chewed up, because the two chewed her up.
After a long back and forth with calls Clayton who doesn't want to get left out of any details regarding his 'princess' birthday planning we decide on a princess Sofia theme since it is her favorite cartoon.
We had hired a good planner recommended by Mrs. Dealer, and the preparations for Zoey's birthday in two months was underway.
And only a week later Clayton and I started couple therapy, it felt nerve wrecking, having not married not even a year and already doing therapy, but it is better to be embarrassed now than having to separate in the future.
But after an hour-long therapy Clayton wasn't satisfied with the therapist.
"Hey, she is a professional," I tried to explain, though I also don't like her advice, she was still more experienced to give.
"We are not getting divorced, a therapist is not allowed to tell people what to do with their life," Clayton reasoned.
He had hated that she had told us that our relationship would not work, and we should divorce, and soon after he stopped us from going to her sessions and said he would look for a new therapist.
Four days later, Clayton's suspicion was finally proven true.
"Good day Mimi Dawson, up with more celebrity news, and guess what, the Becketts are back on my roster, and it looks like they are going through some tough time after Kaleah Beckett's pregnancy from her assault and refuse to get rid of it. It seems Clayton is finally fed up with this woman and after they failed therapy, Mr. Beckett is soon to be back on the market." She giggles before winking at the camera.
I cannot help but turn the television off, I don't want to blame the therapist for this, but she is the only one who knows about all that is said by that woman.
