Chapter 36 - Isn't That Mu Yang?

It was fortunate that Mu Yang was wearing a mask to hide his identity. Even so, standing in the airport where some professional gossip hunters usually stationed to get some stories about artists or idols who came or left the country was probably not the best decision for him. It was already a good luck for Mu Yang that he could send her off without anyone seeing, but the longer he stayed, the harder it would be for him.

While he was still lost in his own mind, one of the reporters caught sight of him and snapped some pictures. Jiang Yan had worked for ten years in this field of work, chasing celebrities here and there and creating some controversial issues about them -if he deemed it necessary. His experience in reading the atmosphere made him a well-known journalist who wouldn't speak anything but truth. Even the controversial articles he wrote were proven real and not just for fun. He was really discreet in composing his articles but he made it looked like it was just a walk in the park and a thoughtless matter.

Seeing a figure that he believed to be Mu Yang, Jiang Yan's mind started to compile series of questions about what, who, why with Mu Yang as the center of topic. He got an information that the A-list actress Lin Yi was returning to the country and her plane would land soon. He was at the airport exactly to get some information about the actress and he wasn't alone. He even got some inside information that the A-list actor from the same management with Lin Yi, Timmy Chen, was going to pick her up with some other B-list actors and actresses. Lin Yi's popularity was no joke. Many people of her line of work were looking up to her, hoping to be able to be in a same project with her or to be in her circle of friends.

Mu Yang was one of lucky actors who got to play with her and earned her recognition. Rumors said that they were pretty close back then. It was to the extent that a gossip about the both of them was in romantic relationship appeared for some time.

Jiang Yan was seriously considering a chance that Mu Yang was seen in airport because he wanted to pick up his ex co-star, however, before he could properly analyze the situation in front of him, the said actress came out from the arrival gate. Jiang Yan was distracted and for some time, he forgot about Mu Yang and approached the beautiful actress Lin Yi.

When he finally got the information that he needed, he then remembered about Mu Yan and turned his head to see the place were the actor was standing previously. Unfortunately, by the time he had finished working, Mu Yang was nowhere to be seen and was going towards his agency's office to meet with his manager. The actress Lin Yi had also boarded her own nanny van with her manager and assistant. There was no sight of Mu Yang anywhere near them.

It seemed that his assumption was wrong. So, what did Mu Yang do in the airport? Or, did he wait for her somewhere else? But, why did he feel like he missed something? The puzzle was too confusing for him to analyze at the moment so he wrote down Mu Yang's name with a big question mark with it on his book. He would make sure he scanned through all the information he could find to put the pieces of puzzles together.

"Why did you put Mu Yang's name on your notebook?" One of his fellow reporters noticed it and asked him in confusion. He didn't see Mu Yang anywhere, so why did this old fellow write his name together with Lin Yi? Did he have something on the both of them?

Jiang Yan snapped out of his trance and chuckled lightly. "Nothing. I just think I saw Mu Yang just now." He wasn't being generous to his rivals. He still kept important information with him and there was no way he would share it. If they were to write a controversial issue about Mu Yang and Lin Yi based on his words alone, then so be it. He would be the one to write the truth, anyway, so some spices to mark his entrance would be needed.

"Here? Did he come to pick Miss Lin?" The other reporters obviously weren't going to let this matter slide. They were eyeing Jiang Yan eagerly, waiting for him to spill some information that they might need to boost their articles.

Jiang Yan shrugged and gave them a smirk. "I know nothing about it. It might be Mu Yang, it might be other people who look like him."

His response made the other reporters sneered. "Brother Yan, a statement from me might be wrong, but from you? Hardly." A younger reporter snorted as he shot him a look 'do you think I'm an idiot?'.

Jiang Yan chuckled. "Anyway, I'm off now. I have articles to write. See you next time!" He waved them off and left directly, leaving the mass of reporters booed in dissatisfaction towards him.

As if he cared. He needed to get to the office to start check on his data that he got today.

The office was bustling as usual. The girls at the front office greeted Jiang Yan warmly as usual. Many people respected him because of his dedication to his work. Not to mention his easy going personality that could make people feel comfortable around him. Jiang Yan was practically the man one would need in every situation.

"It's rare to see you at the office this early." A female reporter around his age approached him as soon as he settled down on his desk.

"Well, there's nothing much to do for today so I returned early to finish some articles. How are you? Did you have a hangover this morning?"

Gao Rui groaned. "Don't remind me that. Did you put the hangover cure on my table?"

"Who else?" Jiang Yan smirked as his hand scrolled on the photos he took quickly.

"Thanks. You're my savior, really. I've run out of the hangover medicine and yours really came in handy." Gao Rui couldn't express more how grateful she was towards Jiang Yan. "By the way, did you go to collect information on Lin Yi? How was it going?"

Jiang Yan went silent for second, not because he was purposely ignoring her but his mind was processing the picture on his screen.

"Huh? Isn't that Mu Yang? Was he in the airport this morning?" Gao Rui leaned towards him and took a look at the picture in his computer.
