Chapter 2 - 1

It's been 13 years since my mother passed away, I was only 4 when she passed. My dad refuses to let us forget her, he tells us how independent and sweet she was. I am the oldest of the three sisters, Arabella and Ana then you have my brother Hunter. My name is Lilianna Andrews, I am the daughter of Kayla Andrews and Connor Andrews and this is my story.

We recently moved to New Mexico, my father joined the army after my mom passed away. He had trouble dealing with it for years so he decided to fight for our country because it's what my mom would've wanted. My mom was elegant and beautiful, everyone wanted her. She was head over heels in love with my dad and no one else seemed to matter to him.

It was my first day at my new school and I knew no one, I'm a junior starting in the middle of the year, weird I know. I sat down in my first class and the girl next to me introduced herself "I'm Brooklyn." I looked up at her golden brown eyes and long free flowing blonde hair "Nice to meet you, it's Lilianna or Lilly." As she talked to me, I felt as if someone was staring at me, I turned my head to the left to a very attractive guy who smiled at me. Brooklyn looked in his direction and chuckled "Don't go there, he is bad news sweetie. He just wants to hook up with you." I looked away "I'm not interested." She nodded her head "His ex-girlfriend, Sadie cheated on him and he hasn't been serious since, claims he'd rather do the hurting."

When she looked forward at the teacher, I turned, looked at him then rolled my eyes at him. After class, another guy approached me "Hey. You look new here." I looked up at him and my heart began racing, he was gorgeous! He smiled nervously and asked "Are you okay?" I nodded my head "Yeah just caught me by surprise." He smirked "So you're new? Must be weird huh? Starting in the middle of the year."

I nodded my head "I'm used to it; we move a lot." He began flirting "You're really beautiful. Would you like to come to my party later?" I nibbled on my lip nervously "I don't know your name?" He ran his fingers through his thick blonde hair "I'm sorry, I'm Oliver and you are?" I blushed a little "Lilianna but you can call me Lily." He smiled "I love it, beautiful name for a beautiful girl". I smiled and my face flushed with red. The guy who smiled at me earlier approached us "Oliver, how many girls have you used that lame line on?"

I looked down at the floor, trying not to make eye contact. Oliver confidently said "You tell me, you're the man whore around here." He shrugged his shoulders "Just being myself and I won't apologize for it." Oliver rolled his eyes and walked away, this guy just stood in front of me "Weird dude huh?" He laughed, I gripped my books tightly and tried to let words come out, I stuttered "Um... Yeah... Sure I guess."

The way he was looking in my eyes made me want to get to know him more but like Brooklyn said he's trouble, he said "You have beautiful eyes, what's your name? I'm Nick." I looked away nervously "Why do you want to know?" He smirked "I want to get to know you sweetheart. I mean unless you aren't interested?" I knew I would be lying if I say I wasn't but he doesn't have much of a good reputation around here. I quickly replied "Lily, but I should get to class now." He smirked and raised his right eyebrow "Want to ditch with me?" I chuckled "Tempting but my dad would kill me if I ditched." He laughed and nodded his head "You're one of those daddy's girls." I got mad and snapped "What does that mean?"

He laughed "Calm down babe, it's cute you respect your dad." I put down my books on the table and placed my hands on my hips "I'm not your babe and I can be a lot of trouble but I prefer to be on my dad's good side." He smirked and mocked me "Don't strike me as that, but if you're so "bad" ditch with me." I crossed my arms "Am I supposed to impress you? Because you aren't worth getting in trouble for." He smiled "You're so cute worked up sweetheart." I gave in "Fine but you better get me out if I'm caught and you'll be the one explaining to my dad." He shrugged "Nothing will happen love."

We went to the football field, he laid in the grass he threw his arms behind his head "This is where I go to think." He sat up "You can sit down; I won't bite... hard." I sat a distance from him, he smiled "Come on, don't be scared to be alone with me, I'm not going to do anything; you're a nice girl." He picked a dandelion from the grass "I promise you." He held it out to me, I grabbed it from him, he was still trying to be seductive. He smiled again "You're really beautiful. Would you like to go with me to Oliver's party?"

I stuttered for a second "Why... are you asking me?" He laughed "Why not?" I played his little game "I don't get played, I do the playing." He didn't say anything, I stood up and began walking away, he yelled "Wait!!" He got up and ran to me "I have no intention..." I cut him off "Save it and I know your intentions." He stuttered "We could... Be serious if you'd want." I smirked "I'm not interested."

Later that night, we were at Oliver's party; Brooklyn and I went together, she left to get us some drinks. I pulled out my phone to keep myself distracted. Nick walked up "Wow, stunning." I looked up "I wish I could say the same about you." He crossed his arms "Stunning doesn't describe me sweetheart." I smiled "I'd say foolish considering you can't take no as an answer." He laughed "Funny but no, I don't get turned down unless she's blind. Sometimes not even then."

His ex-girlfriend walked up "Nick, why are you talking to her?" I faked a smile "Excuse me but do you even know me?" She crossed her arms "And you are? I reached my hand out "Lilianna and you are?" She gave me a look of disgust "That wasn't a serious question." I smirked "Neither was mine." She scoffed "So why are you still here?" I laughed "You're sadly mistaken I have been standing here it's your boyfriend who approached me. Excuse me." I pushed past her shoving her into her friend. She scoffed and threw her drink at me "I'm pretty sure a blind person picked out that dress." I turned and chuckled "No it was my mothers who I'm sure to this day would have better fashion choices then you." She got angry and yelled "I'll kick your ass! Just you watch! No one talks to me like that!" I shrugged my shoulders "Can't stop you." Oliver called for me, I continued to walk away to the snack table "Why are you talking to them?" I smirked "They approached me."

The rest of the night I hung out with Oliver and Brooklyn; every time I turned my head I caught Nick staring. Nick came up to me and asked me to dance when I was finally alone. I said "You're not going to give it up will you?" He smirked "I wouldn't be trying so hard if I weren't serious about you." I just stared at him, he sipped his drink "Don't worry about her, she's just mad that she cheated and messed up the whole relationship." I smirked "I don't have time to worry about her." He laughed "You're funny and cute."

I took a sip of my drink and stayed quiet. He seemed invested in our conversation "Want to go outside? It's more private." I shrugged my shoulders "Why not?" He smiled "Let's go." He put his hand out for me to grab, I grabbed his hand, Brooklyn stepped in front of us "Lily! How much have you had?" I put up three fingers, she rolled her eyes "Where's Oliver?"

Nick pretended to be nice "He ditched her so she's with me." She yelled at me "Lily he's trouble, I told you that." Nick smirked "I've changed for her, she's feisty and classy, just my type." I gave her a drunk smile "I can handle myself Brooklyn but thank you." We went outside, it was warm and humid; he pulled me to the nearby field. He smiled "Come here beautiful."

We sat down on the wet grass, he laid back and looked up at the stars, he sighed "Sometimes I wish my dad made time for me, he thinks his money will keep me happy." I stayed sitting up "What does he do?" He exhaled "He runs a huge law firm and makes millions but his attention would be more accepting then his money." He sat up "Are your parents around a lot?"

I frowned "I lost my mom when I was four and my dad is around as much as he's allowed, he'll overwork himself to forget my mom is gone. To this day he struggles with her death but when he is, he's the best father anyone could ask for. He's always telling us stories about her. My dad use to be caught up in some bad things but when he met my mom she changed him for good."

He smiled "I wish my dad was like that, he's too busy working for me and my step mom is constantly on me for something." I laughed "I'm sure it's because she cares about you." He laughed "No she doesn't give a shit about me, I'm just my dad's luggage that he put on her to take care of." I looked at him "Maybe but if it were true I don't think she'd be with him still." He chuckled "Money over powers everything." I stayed quiet and looked around the field.

He moved closer "You're a mystery Lily, a lot of girls would be more concerned about sleeping with me than actually just talking to me, like we are." I laughed "I'm not trying to sleep with you." He smiled and leaned to kiss me, he pushed my hair behind my ear, he tried pulling my shirt up, I stopped him "What are you doing?" He calmly said "Relax I'm not going to do anything to you, I have more respect for you than that."
