Chapter 3 - 2

The sprinklers turned on, we both jumped up and ran to the sidewalk. He wiped his face "One hell of a wake up call." I reached for my phone "My dad! Oh my god I'm in so much trouble!" He reached in his pocket "Here's mine." I called my dad and walked to the end of the sidewalk and back. He didn't answer. I gave Nick his phone back "I have to head out, it was nice talking to you." I began walking to the car, he hollered "When can we hang out again?" I turned to him "Depends how much trouble I'm in." He came up "What's your number? I'll shoot you a text." I put it in his phone "I'll text you."

I remembered I had lost my phone but gave it as a joke. I got in and left home. My dad was in the kitchen I tried to sneak past "Um I don't think so!" I turned to him "I fell asleep at Brooklyn's." He put his hand out "Keys and phone." I handed over my keys "I lost my phone." He exhaled "No friends, school and back. That's it." I became angry "I'm almost 18 you need to stop treating me like a child." My sister came downstairs "I wouldn't do that Lily." Hunter came downstairs "Look who it is." I scoffed "Dad." He looked up "Enough all of you." Hunter put his hand out to Bella "I need that $10 because I called it." I stormed past them "Stop making bets on me." Bella hollered "You make it easy!"

I went upstairs and took a shower. I came out and Ana was sitting on my bed "So who did you sleep with last night." I yelled "Get out of my room!" She stood up "Don't mess this up for us like you did in California." I slammed my door and locked it. I waited for them to leave before I went back downstairs, I grabbed Arabella tablet from the table and sat on the couch. I logged into my social media and messaged Brooklyn if she had my phone. She did and dropped it off for me. We stood outside and talked "So what happened with Nick?" I shrugged "We talked." She laughed "You don't just talk with Nick." I shrugged "That's all we did." She nodded "I'll see you at school." I rolled my eyes and went back inside to my room.

A few hours passed by, the front door opened, I came downstairs "How was practice losers?" My dad put his keys down "Why don't you three go get ready for dinner so I can talk to Lily." Hunter and the twins went upstairs; my dad sat at the island, I walked to the island "Lily I thought we've had this talk, what happened?" I sat down "I just wanted to make friends." He exhaled "Drinking is dangerous at your age and it makes you do irresponsible things and some of those could follow you like pregnancy or..." I cut him off "I know daddy; I won't do it again." He rubbed his forehead "We'll talk more about this later, go get dressed, I have a formal dinner with some people tonight."

Once we were all ready, we left. We arrived at the warehouse my dad worked, he took off into an office and we hung out in the entertainment room. My uncles and aunts were there as well as my cousins. I left the room to get some water and use the bathroom when I saw a familiar face. I caught eyes with Oliver, I approached him. He looked confused "What are you doing here?" I pointed at the office "My dad has a work meeting." He became nervous "Whose your dad?" I smiled "Connor. Andrews." He nodded "Well I have to get back to work. I'll see you at school okay?" He took off pretty quickly before I could answer to him. My dad came out "What are you doing?" I looked at him "Water." He exhaled "Let's go." I crossed my arms "Do you know Oliver?" He raised his eyebrows "Ya he works for me. Why?" I lied "I just met him. He said he goes to my school." He nodded "I believe so. Let's get home, it's late."

Monday morning, I ran downstairs to eat breakfast; I sat down at the table with the twins, Hunter and my dad, Hunter laughed "Someone is looking to lose her V Card." I snapped back "At least I still have mine." My dad put his coffee down and snapped "Hey! We don't talk to each other like that." I got up to grab a coffee mug, my dad asked "Is that appropriate for school?" I turned and looked at him "I have leggings under my shorts dad so yes, it is."

He took a sip of his coffee "I meant your shirt, it's hanging off your shoulder." I pulled it up "I have a tank top underneath, its meant to look like that hint the collar part being loose." He sighed "Then wear it on your shoulder, no one needs to see anything below it." I leaned against the counter "Dad I'm 17, I'm not a baby anymore. I can say no." Ana smirked and under her breath said "For how long?" I snapped "Shut up Ana!"

My dad snapped "Both of you, quit fighting and you're going to be late for school." The twins and Hunter got up, I finished my coffee, my dad put his mug in the sink "Lily stop with the hard girl act okay, you're a good girl and I know you're trying to be your mother but just be you. You're already so much like her." I frowned "I want to be like her, a fighter but also a lover." He kissed my head "And you are honey. Just keep that shirt on your shoulder." I hugged him "I love you dad." He smiled "I love you too, have fun at school, drive safely and remember to school and back."

I hollered for the twins "We're going to be late!" They came downstairs, Ana laughed "Because we can't tell time." I grabbed my keys from my dad "You can walk to school." She rolled her eyes and walked out the door, we drove to school. Arabella walked with me while Ana took off with the cheerleaders.

I started walking toward the front of the school when I caught eyes with Oliver, I hollered "Hey!" He tried to run away but I chased him, I grabbed his backpack, he smiled "Hey?" I let go of his backpack "What is going on with you?" He cleared his throat "I have to meet with my teacher before class so I'll see you later." I grabbed the collar of his shirt "What aren't you telling me?" Nick ran up at us "Lily!" He ran over to pull me away, I let go of his shirt and he left. I walked inside, Nick ran after me. He asked "What was that about?" I bit my lip, trying to gather myself "It's nothing. I'll see you at lunch."

I began walking away, he grabbed my arm "Wait Lily." I turned and looked at him "What's up?" He smiled "Of course, I just wanted to see if you wanted to hang out after school?" I paused for a few seconds "Um... I'm grounded.." He frowned "Oh." I smirked "But we could ditch." He smirked "I'm a bad influence on you." He threw his arm over my shoulder and we left school before the first bell rang.

We drove around town, he showed me every part of the town and all of his favorite spots. We went back to his house, I looked at his games "I took you as a call of duty type." He turned his head and laughed "Ya no." He came up beside me and grabbed a game "Classic." I grabbed it from him "My type." He smiled "Want to go a round?" I smirked "Be careful I might just beat you." He smiled "Bet." I grabbed his hand and shook it "Deal." I grabbed a controller and sat in the bed. He smirked "What's the reward?" I smirked back "You win. You choose your reward."

He sat beside me "How about I get to take you on a date?" I nodded "Deal." We played a round and I smoked him. I looked at him "Sorry no date." He laughed "I thought that's what this is." I turned my head to him and thought about leaning in to kiss him but ended up looking away. He put his hand on my jawline and turned my face to his, leaning in to my face; he kissed me. He pulled back, I smiled "It can be." He laughed; I looked at the time "Oh geez I need to get my sister's." I got up grabbing my keys, he stood up "I'm sorry I completely forgot." We headed back to our school; he left before my sister's came out.

Weeks have passed, Nick and I hung out more and he became my best friend. We grew close and no one ever saw us away from each other. My dad had found out from my sister's but he accepted it eventually, he hadn't met him yet.
