I wiped the tears that fell from my eyes, I walked up to a park and walked to the swing set; I slowly swung back and forth until I heard someone approaching me. I looked up and scoffed "Great, you're following me now?"
He sat on the swing next to me "Are you sure you aren't following me? I've been here for a couple of hours." I didn't say anything, Oliver stood up and stepped on to the swing "Something bothering you?" I sighed "No." He stepped off it and kind of stumbled "Nick break up with you?" I became agitated "What's that to you?" He leaned against the swing set leg "I just know he won't stick by you for long. It's a game to him, he makes you feel special and dumps you like trash on trash day." I faked a laugh "Well you can't dump someone you aren't dating." He smirked "So the holding hands and publicly kissing was for what? Just show?"
I didn't say anything, he stared at me waiting for a response then walked toward me "I'm not a bad person and I never meant to act how I have". I looked at him "No you just found out who my dad was." He looked away "That was nerve racking yes." I faked another laugh "If you knew him how I do, you would laugh you felt that way." He smiled "You have no clue what your dad is known for and how feared of him everyone is." I laughed "I know the story." He looked at me "I guess you wouldn't see him that way ever. I wouldn't want my kids to see that side." I rolled my eyes "We're all so big and bad right? We all have our weakness." He nodded "That's true."
I looked up to Nick pulling up, Oliver stood up "I'll see you later." I nodded and he left just as Nick walked up; he glanced at him but back at me "Ready?" I nodded, we walked back to his car and he asked "He's talking to you again?" I nodded "Yeah was telling him about my fight with my dad." He looked back at Oliver but back, throwing his arm over my shoulder "What was that about anyway." He opened my door for me and shut it behind me. He got in, I looked at him to see his reaction "You." He looked at me "What about me?" I smirked "To stay away from you." He laughed "Why?" I shrugged "My mom and your dad chaos. I doubt your dad held onto that this long."
He looked away and cleared his throat "He's married, I wouldn't think so." I smiled "It's all just stupid." He glanced at me but looked back as he drove. I looked out the window and realized we weren't going to his dad's. I looked at him "Where are we going?" He smirked "Just see. Don't worry this is my place no flying bullets." I trusted him so I sat back and enjoyed the views; he reached for my hand and held it the whole drive. We pulled up to a nightclub, I looked at him "We are not old enough to go into this place." He looked at me "Trust me." We got out of the car and went inside. It was empty, he walked to the back to an office.
I looked around the office while he opened a safe; I noticed a gun on the desk. He turned as I picked it up, he watched as I looked it over. He came up beside me "Do you know how to use it?" He scared me, I exhaled "No, my dad would never allow me to touch these." He laughed "Being the most wanted man you'd think he would." I looked at him "What?" He grabbed it from me and slapped a clip into it "Come on." He grabbed my hand and we went down stairs to a garage. He turned to me "Grab it." I gulped and held it up to the target, he stood behind me and pulled the trigger getting a bullseye. I started shaking and I couldn't hear; he smirked "You are a newbie." I inhaled "Um.. yeah." He unloaded it "Takes time, you can't fear it."
He handed it to me "Try now, it's not loaded." He showed me how to handle it and use it, I pulled the trigger and it helped calm my nerves. He kissed my cheek "You got this. Use that fear." I inhaled again and held it up by myself and fired it off a couple of times. He clapped "I knew you had it in you." I exhaled "Can I try with that?" He held up the clip "Are you ready?" I nodded my head "Use my fear right?" He smiled "That's my girl." He loaded it and carefully handed it to me, I fired it off missing the first few times.
I became frustrated; he looked at me "Line your eyes to the gun and your aim will be accurate." I held it to my face, he stopped me "Not like that. You'll hit yourself in the face and it will hurt." He pulled it away from my face "You have the concept though." I extended my arms out and shot it getting one bullseye and a few close to it. He laughed "There you go. I told you it takes practice." I unloaded the clip and handed them to him; he put it on the table and went to the bar. I sat beside him at the bar "Why are we doing this?" He sighed "It's always good to know how to use a gun. No matter the situation."
I looked away as he studied my face "Is something going to happen?" He brushed my hair back "Nothing to be concerned about. You're safe with me." I looked down "Please tell me. Is my family in danger?" He put his thumb on my lip "No baby." I looked away, he got up from the stool and stood at my side; he turned my face back to his and kissed me. I threw my arms around his neck as our kiss became deeper. He wrapped my hair in his hand and gently pulled as he bit my bottom lip. He let go and pecked my nose "You really drive me crazy." I smiled and looked down, he let go of my hair and started walking to the exit "We should head out." I sat on the bar stool trying to figure out what just happened; he said my name and I quickly followed him.
As we headed up the stairs, I could hear music blaring; he opened the door and it got louder. The nightclub had filled with people, Nick grabbed my hand as we walked to the front door. People stared but one glance from Nick and they looked away or turned around. A couple people approached him and said hello but quickly left shortly after, he led me to the front door.
Just before we left I noticed a group of girls staring and talking near the door; I accidentally bumped into one of them, she shoved me "Watch it." Nick quickly turned and she walked away. We finally got outside, he opened the car door and we left. As we drove I asked "Why was everyone being weird?" He glanced from the corner of his eyes for a second "To be a leader you must have respect so no one betrays you." I looked out my window "What do you do?" He quickly looked at me "Enough Lily." I became quiet, he reached for my hand "I'm sorry."
I looked at his hand and up at him "Why won't you tell me?" He grasped my hand "Telling you is involving you in a dangerous lifestyle and I would never do that." I laughed "Have you met my mom and dad, it's in my blood." He smirked but looked away "Don't be like any of us. Trust me." I smiled "I'm sure it's not that bad." He exhaled "Can you talk about something else?" I rolled my eyes "Whatever."
We arrived back to his dad's house, I walked into his room while he grabbed drinks; I sat on the floor going threw some movies to watch, he came in and sat next to me "Find something?" I picked up one of my childhood favorites, he smiled "That was my favorite when I was a kid. Been years since I watched it." I smiled back "Let's watch it then." He nodded and we got up, I grabbed a pair of basketball shorts and t-shirt while he put it on.
I came out and laid next to him, he wrapped his arm around me. I looked up at him "I can't stay here forever you know." He kissed my forehead "I know but I enjoy having you here." I smiled "So we're on the same page.. um.. what are we?" He looked down at me "What do you want to be?" I shrugged "I don't know." He looked at the tv and watched the movie avoiding giving me an answer. I laid my head on his chest and eventually fell asleep, I knew it wasn't more than he made it seem; but maybe that's how I wanted it be. I was falling for him every second we were together but I wanted to know what his feelings were. Maybe he felt something too.
