Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

John's POV

"Newly promoted? I heard recently they promote a new Deputy Chief, they called her the Shy Bull."

I heard Timothy starting to comment again quietly yet sneakily as always despite what had happened just now.

"Yeah…she's a HOT contender to be the next Chief, being Deputy Chief already confirms it doesn't it?"

Harold joins in the chatter gossip between Timothy and Ilir adding on. "I will CASTRATE myself to be the lucky one!" Ilir adds on.

"John Charles Daniel McForbes"

Instructor Siracusa calls my name and I immediately responded, walking forward and saluting to her.

"Congratulations, you're the lucky one. You will be under Deputy Chief Shyden from next week onwards."

She tells me with a wide grin which got me almost falling on my knees. 'No way, she has to be joking me' I think to myself when I heard the news.

"You must be in a lot of shock do you? Get back in line."

She chuckles before dismissing me back in line and begins commencing our training for the day.

-After Training-

"HEY LUCKY!"

I was shivering a little, sorting out things in my cabinet when I heard some shouting and whistling to my ears.

I thought I heard wrongly so I just rub my ears and continue sorting out what I needed to sort out.

"Pst pst!"

I turned around and it was Laura squatting and crawling past under that whilst leaning against the cabinet as she calls me by whispering.

"Que Pasó? (What happened?)"

I asked her. "Ellos estan detros de ti, no mire! (They are behind you, don't look!)" She tells me before crawling away sneakily.

'What is going on?'

I think to myself and before I could look despite Laura's advice, I heard the door knob turned and the commotion immediately went quiet.

The door opens and there was this lady there in a FBI Deputy uniform, who looked very exotic pretty yet intimidating at the same time to the point the whole room as of is now under her control.

'Is that my future superior…the Shy Bull everybody talks about?'

I think to myself looking at the lady at the door. "G-Good A-Afternoon…D-Deputy…" Those behind me and around me greeted in a sloppy, nervous yet messy manner while I just stood looking at the Shy Bull who is looking not impressed.

"It's GOOD AFTERNOON DEPUTY CHIEF SHYDEN" She corrects them loudly folding her arms still not impressed.

"And if I remember correctly, three individuals of Kowalska, Lee, Harley are supposed to see Instructor Siracusa AFTER TRAINING."

She then continues which got Eva, Timothy and Jadwiga quietly put down their things and run out instantly like tiny mice.

"And whose John Charles Daniel McForbes?"

She soon asks after the three are out to see Instructor Siracusa. I raised up my hand timidly bowing with a smile.

"Good, it's please to meet you. Pack your things another day cause I have urgent things to see you for now."

Deputy Chief Shyden says unfolding her arms as I followed her out in hopes nobody is following from behind.

Soon, we are in her office and she invites me having a seat while she gives me a cup of weird looking liquid which I was a little skeptical but not going to show it out.

"This is gunpowder tea."

She chuckles telling me which got me jumping in shock a little.

"I know you aren't familiar with tea but I want to ask you what do you smell from it?" She soon asks with a small giggle at my reaction.

I took a sniff hesitantly as she asks. It smells quite smoky yet peppery, something that I've never smelled in my life.

"Smoky…peppery…it has an uniqueness to it." I answered after a few sniffs.

"Go on and have a sip then."

She tells me. I then took a small sip. It was unusually nice, in contrast to the thought I had of gunpowder going to taste like metal.

'Is there a meaning behind this tea?'

I think to myself as she asks me to have another sip which I did. This might jolly well be my first very exquisite experience with tea.

"I think we as FBI agents here, may look dull on the exterior but from the interior, we must have the smoky, fiery passion and determination to have cases followed through and solved."

I said without even thinking of sorting out the clarity of my answer in my brain like I always do.

Just as I was thinking I will be screwed, she gives me a wide grin which didn't help lessening my confusion.

"Bon travail! (Good work!)"

She claps her hands soon saying which got me looking at her as if she is pulling a joke on me.

"May I ask Mam, how is THAT even a BON?"

I put my cup down slowly, shrugging my shoulders and asking her. "Cause you are the only one by far that don't seek favours despite who you are and by what you show me just now." She starts explaining.

"You will go places."

She smiles looking at me while ending off the explanation. She soon after leaves me this piece of words which probably will creep me out for the rest of the day.

"Welcome to the game, cause you're in the real big man's world now."

Diane's POV

As John leaves with the new Deputy Chief with the three recruits Instructor Siracusa have called out earlier going out to hear their fate, the rest of us are discussing about what happened.

"That Shy Bull looks powerful" Salina says to me. "Yet intimidating" Nicolette adds on saying. "I still can't believe we will be stuck side ways doing Forensics with that May J." Ariel continues scratching her head.

"But hey be lucky we aren't getting the Henry Tudor." Salina tells Ariel. "Can we just keep the names to ourselves without saying it before it become a destructive habit?" I cut in shyly asking.

"Just for this once D, it's just us. Chill" Ariel answers me nonchalantly. "How bad of an idea is really to be with Henry Tudor of the FBI?" Nicolette then asks Salina.

"Bad idea to be with him. Apparently his latest wife has been murdered a month before we all joined in." Salina starts sharing her usual gossip with us.

"Oh dear, that must be so painful, hopefully the culprit be found~" Nicolette shivers responding as I pack my books into the extra bag I'm taking back with me.

"The wives before this one were even from the Hostage Rescue Department and Profiling Department." Salina adds on.

"One of course died on the line of duty while the other simply divorced him. The one that divorced him is one of reasons why he has become quite unpopular."

She continued. "So he just lost his third wife?" Ariel asks again. "Fifth" Salina answers looking at us all.

'It makes no wonder now'

I think to myself shocked by what Salina said yet understanding it all at the same time.

"The only difference made between him and the real Henry Tudor is he didn't kill any of his wives that died and gave him kids."

Jean says loudly across from where we four are standing. "But having 10 children across 5 wives is kinda weird isn't it?" Ariel tells that chauvinist fellow rookie of ours back.

"10 children?!" Nicolette and I were so stunned that we put our hands over our mouth, not knowing what to say next.

"THIS Henry Tudor of the FBI has at least 3 of the 10 that are son while the real Henry Tudor only have a Edward VI to save his face"

Salina begins a stream of history debate between her, Ariel and Jean while Nicolette and I decided to quietly walk out and grab lunch before heading back home.

At the cafeteria, we saw Eva, Jadwiga and Timothy pouring huge tins of food into various metal trays with a pissed Instructor Siracusa watching.

"WOW That's quite the punishment…"

Nicolette shakes me a little surprised. "Quite the punishment indeed, why not we just grab McDonalds instead?" I suggest to Nicolette a little terrified by what I've seen.

"Of course why not!"

She agrees with me as we both left the cafeteria and the building quickly altogether for lunching at McDonalds.
