Even though the situation between Max and Olivia seemed very complicated, it wasn't the priority at the moment so Owen pushed it to the back of his mind.
At the moment, the most important thing is to get a plan and know what to do next.
Owen let his mind roam as he thought deeply.
This time, the witches had made the first move this time and had ambushed them all of a sudden. It was strange since the witches had been disorganized and falling apart since the disappearance of their Queen.
Furthermore, the witches had not shown any signs that they were planning something at all. He would know since he was in charge of keeping watch over the movement of the witches.
Moreover, the witches were not aggressive creatures and liked to stay somewhere safe to cast a spell as a means of fighting.
Their approach had always been more gentle so why were they suddenly so aggressive. Their style couldn't possibly have changed so suddenly especially when they didn't even have a leader.
Then Owen stopped for a moment, the gears in his head turning rapidly.
Then...
Bam!
It suddenly hit him and his eyes widened uncontrollably. He looked like he had a light bulb over his head as he mumble the thought that just popped up in his head.
"The witches have a new leader."
Max was beside him and heard what he muttered clearly. He looked at him disappointedly, raised one of his eyebrows and said mockingly.
"You only realized that now?"
Owen noticed his mocking expression and rolled his eyes with a scoff. Of course he was not like Maximilian who thought about everything at hundred times the average speed. Even though he was fast due to the fact he was a vampire, his thought processing speed was very much at a human's pace. He still needed to think a lot to be able get answers to some complex questions.
However this didn't matter much. What mattered was getting a plan. But Owen felt his brain juice was already drained after thinking so much before.
Hence, he relied on Max and said,
"So what's the plan?"
Maximilian looked at Owen and knew he didn't want to think about such complex things anymore as he was lazy. Even though he didn't really care about this, he still said,
"Seriously, what's the use of that brain in there." As he spoke, Max raised his hand to knock on Owen's head a few times.
Owen looked at Max grudgingly. He wasn't a little kid, why did Max keep knocking his head. But in actual fact, Max really had no problem with his laziness. He knew Owen was very smart and good at solving puzzles, unraveling mysteries and seeing through schemes.
It was just that at times, Owen was really too lazy to think and made Max do all the thinking. And in fact, Max had no problem with thinking about these things for his little brother and all his people.
Max actually already had a plan in mind but seeing as no witches appeared before them for a while, he could only change it.
His plan had been to capture a witch and make that witch lead them to their new leader. However, seeing those warrior witches before, a new idea popped up in his head.
Witches had never easily accepted new leadership. He felt that those warrior witches and most of the normal witches did not even know they had a new leader. But the Mother Witches of each coven would. And the new leader was giving the commands through the Mother Witches.
Mother Witches were the most powerful witches after the Witch Queen. These witches formed the SCOW(Superior Counsel Of Witches).
Each Mother Witch was in charge of their own coven–a small community of witches. There were twelve covens in total and therefore, twelve Mother Witches as leaders of these covens.
Thinking like this, Max felt it was indeed a possibility. Maybe this was just a trap to lure the vampires to the witches. Max knew he couldn't take the risk.
Therefore, the best thing was still to ask the Vampire Prophetess whether she knew anything about what was going on.
They would also have to summon the Vampire Lords of each clan. Just like the witches that had twelve covens, the vampires also had twelve clans which were overseen by the Vampire Lords.
These Lords were directly under the command of the Royal family of Alvania. They formed the COVE(Counsel Of Vampire Elders).
They were powerful and could give commands to their clans directly and easily. They were going to be needed in this war.
After thinking about it for a while, Max relaid his ideas to Owen. Owen felt they indeed needed to think about the witches' plan thoroughly and not rush to do anything.
It was still best they go to the Vampire Prophetess first.
Owen then called for the attention of the others and gave them instructions.
"Alright we are going to head to the Prophetess. We will also be contacting the Vampire Lords about this issue. This won't be hard as we are in the days of modern technology."
With these words, he pulled out a mobile phone. He grinned cheekily.
"However,we will have no way to easily contact those Lords who do not like this technology. Instead, it will have to be done manually."
His expression became serious again with these words.
"Therefore I will assign some of you with the task of summoning these Lords. Amy, Penelope and Melissa, you can easily teleport and therefore I will assign this task to you. Amy will go and summon Lord Vincent of clan vicara. Penelope will take Lord Rafael of clan rafa. And Melissa will go for Lord Mustafa of clan regal. Alright now get going."Owen waved his hand dismissively after saying all these.
"Yes, Your Highness", the three women said before vanishing silently.
Olivia observed all this from the back, not saying a word, as if she wasn't even there at all.
When the group started moving ahead to the Prophetess, Olivia followed behind silently. She was still lost in her thoughts when Gabriel came to her left and Gabriella stayed on her right.
Gabriella wanted to start a conversation but didn't know where to start so she kept silent. Then she remembered she gave Olivia her dagger and it was never returned.
"Um...my dagger. Can I get it back now?" She asked hesitantly.
Olivia didn't say anything but only glanced at her. Her emerald eyes were filled with indifference.
She raised her hand and opened her palm. She muttered something under her breath while closing her palm.
And suddenly, Gabriella's dagger appeared in her palm. She played with it between her fingers before handing it over to the owner directly.
Thereafter, Olivia didn't even look at Gabriella again.
