She brushed his hair back like a mother would a child, and at that moment, I could tell she truly did love her sons. For a while there I hadn't been sure. It looked innocent, something a doting mother would do. I missed mum. What would she do if she was still here? I'd never get that gentle smile from her. But no matter what she did, Theo didn't bat an eyelid.
She sighed. /"This is one of the things I hate about being a vampire. The rest is okay but once we become stuck like this,/" she gestured with her hand to Theo, /"It’s always hard to come out of it. Consumed by one’s thoughts can sometimes be the worst sort of torture/" Her thumb brushed his cheek soothingly.
/"May I ask how you became…/" I paused. I didn't want to say vampire but I wanted to make sure she understood, besides I was dying of curiosity. It was something that I had wondered about because Theo didn’t like talking about it.
