#Chapter58
I sat at my desk, staring at it, unable to move. I needed to go do the test, but I couldn't break myself from this spot. It was too close, the time of fate was near. Theo walked out of his office, and I tracked him until he came to a stop at my desk. It didn't take but a second for Tobias to step out as well, joining Theo. /"Ready?/" Tobias questioned.
I sighed. /"Ready as I'll ever be,/" I grumbled. I grabbed my handbag from under my desk, throwing the straps over my shoulder. I followed them to Tobias' car, doing my best to not let the fear completely consume me. The car started and the rumble made reality hit. There was no turning back from this. When I got into my seat, the seatbelt felt more like a noose than a casual restraint. Was it just me, or was it tightening around me even now? The doors closed, and we took off to the council who would decide if I would live or die.
