Shuyun eyed the figures before him.
"Thank you, esteemed seniors"
Shuyun bowed in respect, as he considered the group in front of him to be high of status. Yeyin also mimicked him movements, bowing not a moment after.
The female felt inwardly surprised while her face showed no emotion.
'An odd guest contrary to the usual..'
Her face lit up a smile, showing her pearly white teeth reflecting the light within the building.
"No need to use such honorifics as I am probably younger than you"
She waved her hand back and forth as she nonchalantly explained.
'Younger than me?'
Shuyun eyed her once more.
'What the hell?'
Though he didn't know for sure, Shuyun had assumed his age to be around 17 in this body, that would make the girl in front of him younger than that, and she was, appearing to be, the head of administration?
What else could be expected from such a mystical world? No standards could be applied here. As someone not even considered an adult back on earth was presented on such a high position. It seems everyone he has met so far was extraordinary in some way shape or form. When would he meet someone normal like him...?
Shuyun displayed no reaction on the surface and only nodded in response.
"This is Jia, the head of administration at this academy"
Yeyin explained on the side, speaking in a lowered tone only audible to Shuyun.
"And these two seniors here are the respected elders of the academy"
Shuyun smiled at them as he spoke.
"It is nice to meet you all"
She tilted her head slightly in acknowledgement, as did the elders.
*Clap* *Clap*
"Very well then"
Jia clapped as she waved her hand, summoning a transparent pearl before her. It stood between the two groups, floating. Equally so to the feeling of nature qi, it too felt strange and incomprehensible. If the world possessed a perfect round, stainless object, this sphere shaped ball would be the first candidate.
"Let's get to the affinity testing shall we?"
The two elders suddenly appeared on opposite sides of each other. Making strange signals with their hands, a translucent barrier suddenly engulfed them.
"In order to get the most accurate reading, the elders will seal off all incoming fluctuations from dormant and straying energy to accurately determine your element and affinity."
Yeyin explained on the side as she watched the barrier rise over them. Shuyun watched the whole event in awe. There truly were endless things one could learn after arriving here.
Not much time later did the barrier fully cover them. It was then that Jia spoke once more.
"Now that there has been no room left for error, when you are ready, feel free to place your hand upon the pearl"
Walking up to it, Shuyun gently placed his hand upon the crystalline surface. At the moment of contact, visible ripples circled shuyuns palm. He felt as if a force swept through his body, starting through his fingertips, circling his body before rebounding back towards the pearl.
Yeyin eyed the color of the ball with interest, waiting upon the change in its hue. After all, she knew Shuyun could be anything but normal. It wasn't everyday that the Queen requested her presence, as a warrior of the elfin race at the valkyrie level, besides assassinations at the word of the queen and Valkyries of the palace, she was kept besides important figures to ensure safety or keep watch. Her concealment of qi stage was almost perfect, that even the Valkyries would fail to notice her should she decide to hide amongst a sea of common folk, as they would take her as a normal person with very little to no qi cultivation.
Shuyun too watched with interest. Though he didn't know what he was looking for, the workings of such 'magical' items of this world still didn't fail to fascinate him.
A short time later, the hue died down. It hadn't made any color apparent, as it pretty much stayed invisible. This led to Yeyin maintain her wonder, while Jia slightly looked at Shuyun with straying thoughts.
'a person who hasn't even awakened their element received personal recommendation from the queen...?'
Jia shook her head.
'No, I am not one to question her highnesses decisions'
She waved her hand, and with the motion, the pearl disappeared.
"The pearl failed to make your attribute known, though this doesn't mean you aren't able to awaken one, as it could possibly still be dormant..."
She looked at one of the elders. Regardless if she thought the boy before her was a waste of time, he was in a special position with their Queen, meaning only the utmost treatment should be given without talent in play.
"I'll have Elder Feng take you under his wing during your training moving towards awakening an element"
She motioned her hand, and a ring appeared before Shuyun.
"Of course, the Asteroia Academy will implement any resource at our disposal in order for you to achieve your goal, as a guest of the Queen, don't be afraid to ask of anything that may interest you."
The two elders dismissed the sealing formation, causing the space void of Qi to once again flourish.
"Elder Feng, I'll have you show them to their accommodation"
Grabbing the ring in front of him, Shuyun put it on. Though not knowing the significance of such an item, he knew it had some use. But as to not further bother Jia, he felt it would be better to ask Yeyin later. Cupping his hands, Shuyun bowed once again.
"Many thanks, Jia. I won't cause the resources of your academy to go to waste."
Jia smiled witnessing Shuyun addresses her properly without her exhausted title. She was very young, and being the second most talented cultivator in the past thousands of years in the Elfin realm, she had grown from attaining pleasure from mere titles. Instead, it grew to have the opposite effect, and in fact, annoying her. But of course, no matter how many times she asked her title to be dropped, who would actually listen?
Just because she was young, her age held no power over the true matter of her position. Not only did she beat the previous admin of the academy in a battle, but she was personally awarded the title 'Star' by the queen. Her understanding of the Qi path was amongst the peak of the Elfin Realm, only a few she knew of that could top her. All this at the age of 15 years old, an incredible feat only being beat out by one monster.
So many, afraid of offending her, would still 'respect' her and call her by her title. So, it was indeed refreshing to be liberated from such a burden for once, as even the elders refused to take such a liberty.
After accepting Shuyuns thanks, she disappeared from their view, the other elder following suit.
Elder Feng then turned to face them.
"If you would follow me..."
