I couldn’t get Erik out of my head.
Which was funny considering the fact that a few weeks ago, in my head was the only place he ever existed. But now he was real, or was it me that was real, in his world? Either way, every time I closed my eyes, I could see the dark, blue starry sky above me—and his own eyes staring down.
I could almost feel the ghost of his touch across my cheek, raking down over my arm, and the whisper of his words he said against my lips. I could almost taste it.
Even after Falcon had come to see me that night and spoke with me about the most menial things, all I could think about was the fact that Erik was only a few steps away. All I had wanted to do was go to him and be near him and be close to him. But I couldn’t, though, could I?
