*Vanessa’s POV*
As the time drew nearer to midnight and my birthday was fast approaching, I was beginning to grow more and more concerned for Erik. I hadn’t seen him all day except maybe a slight glimpse this morning, I was too busy being rushed around by servants in preparation for tonight to pay any mind to literally anything else.
“Why do you look like that?” Ariana asked as she came up to me again. I hadn’t seen her since an hour ago when she had told me about her plans to seduce Hawke. I was somewhat worried she had gone off and done something reckless.
“Do you now where Erik is?” I asked as smoothly as I could, trying to not bring any attention to the fact that I was slightly worried about him. Ariana took one look around the party for a moment and then shrugged her shoulders.
“Come to think of it, I don’t think I saw him get here at all… should I go ask around if anyone else has seen him?” she suggested, but I only shook my head at her.
