Gwen opened her eyes and found Alec standing by the window clad in complete black. He looked like a model with the way he was pocketing. Gwen was drooling from within. Being this hot was a crime.
" Stop staring from underneath the sheets. " Alec turned to her. " I won't stop you from looking , you know. "
Gwen became stiff. How did he always know when she looking? She sat up and tried to change the topic.
" Why are you dressed like that ? Someone dead or something? "
" Yes. A family friend."
Gwen's face turned pale from shame. The situation became awkward. She was trying to joke around and it turned out someone died for real.
" Dont worry , we weren't close. " Alec smiled. Gwen sighed with relief when she saw him smile. She hadn't seen his smile in a while then the events of the last night flashed through her mind.
" Alec...about yesterday-"
" We're going to the funeral. " Alec cut her off. " Mom got you what to wear. I'll wait downstairs. "
Gwen watched him leave the room and it was like a million tiny daggers stabbed her heart. Was he avoiding her ?
" There she is. " Freya smiled as Gwen joined them for breakfast.
" Good morning. " Gwen didn't know when the rest of them came. She tried to act formal and presentable.
" Hi. I'm Ruth Reinster , Alec's younger and only sister. "
Gwen could already tell she was the proud type from the way she spoke but she indeed was gorgeous. Unlike Alec and Freya , she was a brunette and her eyes were emerald green. She looked mythical and Gwen was impressed by the good looks in this family.
Breakfast was silent. Everyone was minding their food and there was no conversing. Gwen wasn't used to this and she felt uncomfortable. She couldn't wait for them to get done. Right now she even felt the funeral would be more fun. She occasionally glanced at Alec who wasn't talking to her . She didn't like the feeling of being ignored...she felt hurt.
To her disappointment, the funeral was even worse because she sat in between Alec , who still didn't say much to her , and his father , who had a glare that could scare ghosts. She'd never been so quiet in her life and it made her think the dead guy was having more fun.
She'd had enough . She needed to breathe. Gwen stood from her seat and disappeared in the distance. Alec watched her leave. Was he being to hard on her ? He was being childish...he should go find her. This wasn't the place for her to wander around...it wasn't safe.
Alec excused himself and started to look for Gwen. The funeral was at Denis' mansion and it was big so Alec had alot of ground to cover before he could find her. He moved to the backyard and stood beside the grand fountain. The water was lovely.
Just then hands came from behind and hugged him. He could tell they were a woman's and he smiled. Was it Gwen ?
" I knew you'd come. What took you so long? " Alec felt something was a miss when she didn't respond. He spun round and found Chanel all teary looking at him with puppy eyes. He'd totally forgotten that she was Denis' daughter. Fuck! If there was one he regretted the most , that was his relationship with her.
" I'm sorry about your dad. He was a good man. " Alec couldn't ignore her at her father's funeral. He still had manners after all.
" I just need someone to hold me. " With one swift move she wrapped her arms around him and clung to him. If there's one thing she surely knew , that would he sticking to people. Alec tried to push her away but her grasp was death like.
" Don't push me away. Please. "
Alec just let her hug him to her satisfaction. She sobbed in his arms for a while till she eventually let go.
" Are you okay now?" He moved the hair on her face aside. Chanel licked her lips and looked Alec in the eye then with all her might , she pressed his lips on hers.
Alec broke the kiss and grabbed her by the arm. He'd shown her some sympathy and she'd crossed the line. Now he wouldn't play nice. He was angry but then his eyes landed on Gwen who was standard behind them . She looked even more angry than Alec was.
Shit ! The last thing he wanted was for her to misunderstand him. He let go of Chanel and walked to her but she walked past him straight for Chanel , who held her cheek as memories of the past slaps were still fresh.
" I'm sorry for your loss. " She patted Chanel's shoulder and left. Chanel was confused, she expected a good beating.
" Gwen! Gwen!" Alec called out to her but she didn't stop. She didn't even know where she was going. She just walked into an open door and kept moving but Alec held her hand and pulled her to the nearest room he could find and slammed her against the door he'd just shut.
" Let me go! " Gwen fought to break free but he was too strong for her. He held her hands above her head and trapped her with his body.
" Talk to me. Don't just storm off like that . " His blue eyes sunk into hers.
" Look who's talking." Gwen hissed. She wasn't angry with him , she was angry with herself. She couldn't bring herself to say those three magic words to Alec and she was afraid he'd give up on her.
" You've been avoiding me all day." She had tears in her eyes and she looked down as she tried to hide them.
Alec felt bad for hurting her but he just thought needed to give her sime space and he also needed to calm down.
" I...I just needed some space...and I thought you needed some too. "
" Needed some space? " Gwen pushed him away. " Who told you I needed any space ? "
" Because of you , my days are brighter. When I'm with you , It's like there's no one else in the world except the two of us. "
"When you say my name , it sounds like the most beautiful thing I've ever heard and when you're close to me , my heart starts to pound like hell. "
" When you didn't talk to me for the entire day , I felt my heart shatter..." she was letting the tears flow without restricting them.
" I was hurting , Alec and then it gets worse when I find that...girl...kissing you. "
" I hate how I can't stand any other person knowing how you taste. Because of my love for you , I get so jealous... I just - "
Alec's eyes widened and a smile blossomed on his face. Did she just say she loved him ? " Can you say that last part again?...I didn't get it."
Crap! Gwen looked away. She'd just spilled the beans. The room started to feel small and her breathe quickened. She'd never been this nervous even when she shot her first bullet!
" I..." She held her breath . She might as well say it. " I love you."
In less than a second , Alec had her slammed against the door and he kissed her like his life depended on it. Gwen held on to him and his hands went for her dress. He didn't like it as it didn't hold her at any point. It was like a huge blanket thrown over her. Freya had chosen it and he always hated her fashion sense. He was eager to get her out of it.
" It's ...It's a... funeral...Alec." She whisperedd into Alec's mouth but the way she said his name only made him more aroused. His hands had already found her flower and she was wet so there was no way she could deny that they both wanted this.
" Let's get you out of this dress. " His hands found the zipper at the back and he was desperate to see that dress slide to the floor. As he pulled the zip down , he bit her ear and whispered sweet nothings. Gwen had shivers running down her spine and she could feel his dick rub against her.It was hard.
" Take it off..." She just wanted his touch . She didn't care if there was mourning going on outside , she was in her own little world with the man of her dreams.
Gwen's bubbble was burst by a knock on the door. She trid to get Alec off but he wasn't ready to let her go.
" Alec...the door."
" What about the door ? " He planted kisses on her shoulder. " Ignore it."
Alec's words were compelling. She closed her eyes and let him have his way. Her dress slowly came down her body and Alec wanted her bra off next. He kissed her as his hands worked behind. Gwen could feel her legs shake from excitement but when she opened her eyes , she gasped and pushed Alec from her.
" What's the matter? " Alec was confused.
" We can't do it here. It's the dead man's room! " Gwen pointed at the pictures of Denis hanged in the room.
" He's dead . I'm sure he wont mind."
There was another knock on the door and Gwen pulled the dress up and opened the door . It was Derek.
" Not again. Even at a funeral? " He narrowed his eyes at Alec. " You need help. "
