Cairo assisted Kissa into her quarters gently. The first thing Kissa spotted was the scrolls on her bed.
Kissa really wanted to facepalm as she saw the scrolls placed out in the open.
Immediately Kissa got to her bed, she hid the scrolls under her bed and laid on her back.
"Cairo." Kissa called and he looked at her. "You're a prince right?"
"Layla told you didn't she?" Cairo frowned.
"I would have known if I wanted to but yes she did. But why did you choose killing me a way to prove you are ready to be the king?" Kissa asked still not looking at him.
"It is more complicated than you think Kissa. Really complicated." Cairo gritted his teeth. "This isn't only about you. It is about Asim too and the past kings of Suma."
"The last kings of Suma?" Kissa sat up with a raised brow but all Cairo did was bow and turned to leave the room.
Kissa quickly stood up and rushed towards him. Before he could open the door, she grabbed his hands and she was pulled into her vision.
"Mother." A little boy about the age of eight ran towards a woman who was sitting next to a pool of water.
The boy looked so much like Cairo and he clearly took after the woman too.
"Cairo. What are you doing out here?" She smiled sweetly as she pulled him into a loving hug.
"I came to check up on you mother. Layla said you weren't in a good mood." Little Cairo played with his fingers gently. "Did I annoy you?"
"No my prince." His mother laughed sweetly.
"Did you wish you never had me?" Cairo asked with teary eyes.
"No my prince. I'm so glad I got to have you. You're the best thing that has every happened in my life." His mother smiled lovingly at him before pulling him into another hug. "I would never wish not to have you darling."
"Father wished you never had me." Cairo wiped his tears gently, still wrapping his arms around his mother.
"But I don't wish I never had you. I love you so much my prince. And I'll never leave you okay?" She assured and he nodded.
The scene changed and they were in a large hall filled with different Nobles. Kissa could tell because of the way they dressed.
Another man dressed as a royalty stood at the entrance of the hall with a wicked smile on his face.
"You won't give it up, then I'll have to burn the whole place down along with you and your precious people in it." The other royalty yelled and then everything in the room started burning.
Cairo and his mother were standing next to his father with Cairo hiding behind his mother.
Everyone started running around, looking for a way to escape the room that was burning. The whole place was on fire and all exits were blocked.
"This way your majesties." Some people yelled as they found a way to escape through the balcony.
Everyone rushed towards the balcony, leaving Cairo and his mother behind. His mother was on the floor, gasping for breath.
"Mother are you okay?" Cairo asked as he knelt next to her.
"Go… Cairo. Go." She urged as she looked up at the pillar which was about to fall that Cairo didn't notice.
Kissa who stood at a corner, looking at both of them wanted to run to save him but she was rooted to the spot.
"Go… Cairo." His mother yelled.
"Mother you promised not let leave me." Cairo sobbed gently and she had no choice but to push him away and the pillar fell on her.
"NOOO." Cairo screamed as someone grabbed him and jumped out through the balcony and just a second after they jumped out, the whole building collapsed.
Kissa opened her eyes, as she snapped out of her vision. She was laying on her bed already while holding Cairo's hands.
"Cairo." She whispered and heard him sobbing. "Cairo."
"She broke her promise… she did." Cairo choked. "Why did you have to show it to me?"
"You saw it?" Kissa asked in surprise.
"I was weak, I couldn't do anything. I was just a little eight years old whom they blamed for their queen's death."
