Chereads / Pharaoh's Vengeful Prisoner / Chapter 21 - Assurance

Chapter 21 - Assurance

In the palace's meeting room, different officials sat around the large table which had the map of the whole of Egypt on it.

Asim was sitting on his throne going through a scroll before clearing his throat.

"General, I hope the men are preparing for our next invasion." Asim raised his brows and the man dressed in the royal soldiers outfit stood up.

He wasn't dressed like other soldiers because his dressing looked more ranked like the ordinary soldiers.

"Yes Pharaoh. We have conquered almost all the other kingdoms and we still have about eight more kingdoms to conquer." The general explained as he picked some bricks and walked round the table.

"The other kingdoms are standing and strong kingdoms which won't give up so easily. Their moves are unpredictable and we might not be able to win this alone."

"What do you mean by we won't be able to win this alone?" Asim raised his brows as he picked his golden goblet to drink from.

"We have Nashwa." The general placed a brick on the location he had mentioned.

"They are rich in gold just like us and they have lots of vegetation that can feed their next generations."

Asim rolled his goblet gently as he listened attentively to the general's explanations.

"Nare, they have lots of oil and herbs with enough vegetation to feed them too. They are all strong and have great walls keeping their kingdoms safe."

"So you're telling me that you're intimidated by mere walls or you're requesting I go out on a war with you so before I come back, a spy would have been planted in my kingdom?" Asim thundered, making them tremble.

Pharaoh Asim rarely left the kingdom to fight at war front. He was rest assured his men would do all the job because Kissa has seen frequent victories for them.

"That's not it Pharaoh…."

"Then it's what?" Asim asked with his back rested and his brows raised.

"We have a secret weapon none of the other kingdoms have, my Lord. The Sorceress."

Asim's face darkened when he heard Kissa's name.

"That is the reason why most people want to speak alone with her whenever they come or try to kidnap her. She can be the one to plan our strategies and examine every move we plan on taking my Lord." General suggested.

"I strongly agree with him, Pharaoh. With her help, the men will be rest assured that victory would be theirs against these giant kingdoms." The welfare minister spoke up and the others nodded.

"What if we didn't have her? Would you ask to look for her or you'll search for a pure woman who has the gift to see visions?" Asim raised his brows and they all replied negatively.

"Good so I still stand on the ground that the idea is a stupid one to expose Kissa to all these political things." Asim rolled his eyes as he sipped from his goblet.

"The former Sorceress was always present at the meetings to guide the previous Pharaoh on the right decisions to make. She'll be of great help to us Pharaoh."

"Are you trying to say my father rules better than I do?" Asim thundered angrily.

"No Pharaoh. It was just a suggestion, you don't have to bring her into political affairs." The general apologized with his head bowed.

Lapis stepped next to Asim and whispered something inside his ear. A sigh escaped his lips before he nodded.

Kissa sat quietly in her pool, with her eyes closed. She didn't know she was floating above the water and the golden shackles around her wrist in her visions we're now made of water.

Immediately she sensed Lapis approaching, she fell into the water and the water around her wrist dropped.

"Lady Kissa." Lapis bowed as she stepped into sight. "Pharaoh sent for you in his meeting room. Immediately! And please do not keep them waiting for any reason at all."

Kissa didn't say a word, she stood up and walked out of the pool and Sabola hurriedly covered her with a towel.

It was the first time Asim would be calling for her in his meeting room.

He had strictly forbidden her from going there without his permission which never came since he forbade her.

Back in their meeting room, the officials were proceeding with things when a guard announced the presence of Kissa.

"The Sorceress, Lady Kissa."

Everyone's head turned towards the door as it was pulled open and a pair of legs stepped into the room.

"Your highness."
