Chapter 42 - Garett and Kidd (2)

While Garett and the others were exploring the dungeon Adrian was currently doing menial tasks. "I'm a dungeon master yet I'm doing such work myself?"

He was currently casting Animate Plants on the trees that were in the walkway towards Endless City. He was making a pathway that would be usable by carriage. Each tree was tens of meters tall and sapped a lot of mana so it was taking him a long time.

He cleared about 50 trees before he sat down and decided that was enough for the day. It took him over three hours to do just these 50 trees. He estimated that he had another 200 or so trees to move in order for him to finish clearing a path through the woods.

The bright side to all this was constantly depleting his mana then replenishing it over and over was increasing his mana capacity by leaps and bounds.

He was not worried about Garett and Kidd inside of the dungeon because he had Gabbie and the others with them. He did not want them to die, because they were the first team of adventurer's that came to his dungeon. Mara did not count as she was doing an inspection quest.

Once Garett and Kidd left then they would start to spread the name of his dungeon and town and attract more visitors. It was an endless cycle and this was what Adrian was truly after. He was investing for later.

Around five hours later when the sun was setting they all came out of the dungeon each of them carrying a bag with some herculean beetle shells inside of them.

"Our harvest is going to be big this time! I love this dungeon!" Garett said looking at the bag he had that was filled.

Kidd quickly scribbled down as he said "Father likes it big!" causing his father to almost fall over mid step! What was this kid writing about!

"Look at my bag too! I bet when we sell all of this we can get me a better bow" Kidd said as he looked at the bow in his hands. It was a short bow that had a thinner string so it was usable for someone of his size.

"Sure, we can get you a better bow. I bet we will make a few silvers this time! How about you guys?"

"Same for us! We need to go back to Endless City to sell them though" Gabbie said as she groaned.

"No worries! You can just travel with us because we will be heading back tomorrow" Garett said.

"Sure, I will let you know tomorrow if we are going to go with you!"

"Of course, the more people with us the safer it is so you are always welcome. You goblins are stronger than you look!"

They entered the inn as Garett and Kidd went to their room that was upstairs and placed their bags down before returning back to the dining room. The dining room took up a majority of the first floor with a small section in the back being the kitchen. The entire second floor was rooms for the customers.

Gabbie and the goblins went to return their bags to their homes before coming back to the inn to eat dinner.

When they all returned Adrian was sitting at the table eating with Garett and Kidd.

"What do you think?"

"I don't see why not. This way the other goblins can go and get their adventurer's certification along the way" Adrian said as he thought about it.

A majority of the goblins did not have a rank in the adventurer's guild which was not a good thing so he decided to let them take turns going to Endless City to get certified. After this group that was leaving with Garett came back another would leave.

He turned towards the goblins as he said "Make sure to get the elimination quest from the guild. This way we can all complete it at the same time."

The goblins all agreed and the entire first floor of the inn was filled with a festive atmosphere as they were eating and laughing. The entire town was inside of the room. There were only 20 residents of the town after all.

Adrian also gave each of the goblin's spare change to use to deceive Garett when they were eating their meals. It had to look like they were paying for their food after all. As for Adrian? Well he owned the Inn so he didn't have to pay.

They all finished up their food and went up to sleep with the goblins returning to their houses. A few of the houses some *pa* *pa* *pa* noises were heard causing Adrian to get slightly jealous before he thought of the ugly faces of the goblins and was cured of his jealousy instantly.

The next morning when everyone woke up Garett, Kidd, and the goblins left for Endless City after saying their goodbyes. They even promised to share how welcoming this town was to their friends in Endless City saying they would definitely be back if for nothing else but the food!

Adrian watched them leave before he sighed and got back to work moving the trees on the path leading to Endless City. He wanted to finish it before any more visitors came to Verdant Town. If he overworked himself he figured he could get it finished up in two days.
