Adrian searched the DP shop for quick ways to increase their strength. He knew that as they were his town, or better yet dungeon, would not be able to stop this army that was said to be coming. He needed to do something to boost their odds of winning. He eventually stopped on two items, one was a [Power Potato] and the other was [Genuine Body Strengthening Potion].
[Power Potato] 1000 DP
-A type of giant potato with a hard outer skin. Often mistaken for a boulder, these vegetables can grant a temporary boost of power to whoever takes a bite of them that lasts an hour. However to make the boost permanent they must eat the entire giant potato within 24 hours of their first bite without throwing up with nothing else but the potato and seasoning for the meal.
[Genuine Body Strengthening Potion] 2500 DP
-A body strengthening Potion used for Genuine Knights to increase the toughness of their body. Only works on Knights of Genuine strength or below. Users must soak themselves in the potion for strengthening effects to take place.
The body strengthening potion was a good choice for his Goblins as they were all at the peak of Standard Knight and this potion might push some of them into the ranks of Genuine Knights. Although none of the Goblins cultivated any knight techniques their power levels were the same. If they had cultivated such techniques their power levels would increase drastically, it's a pity though that the price in the DP shop was too much for Adrian right now.
However the price was just too much and he was unable to afford body strengthening potions for each of the goblins. The same was for the Power Potatoes as he just did not have enough DP in order to buy them each one. He was struggling to afford anything even when he had over 10000 DP.
He did however, purchase one Power Potato though and was going to have Dahlia make a meal out of it. In this way after the goblins ate the meal they would be powered up for an hour, hopefully the fight did not last longer than an hour. He was now at 14000 DP and continued to look for anything that would help.
While he was doing this all the goblins were digging pitfall traps. They dug holes that were around 4 feet in diameter and then placed wooden spikes at the bottom so that any enemy who fell in them would be impaled. Once they finished digging all the holes they were going to cover them with branches so they were hidden.
For the entire day they dug holes until Gabbie felt like they had enough, they dotted the forest leading to the Sunfire plains. They all covered them up before they returned back to the dungeon and began to do some hellish training. Their lives were on the line so they had no time to rest.
While they were all doing this Adrian decided to purchase a monster called a twig blight. It was the smallest form of blight he could purchase and they only cost 15 DP.
[Twig Blight] 15 DP
-A twig blight is an awakened plant that resembles a woody shrub that can pull its roots free of the ground. Its branches twist together to form a humanoid-looking body with a head and limbs.
They are not strong monsters at all, only being 0 stars rank 1, however with numbers come strength. And Adrian purchased a full 800 of them costing him 12000 DP. He was betting that with this numbers advantage they would be on the winning end of the engagement. Even if the entire gang came out in their full force of 150 members they would each have to fight five twig blights in order to wipe them all out.
This is not mentioning the fact a majority of their members have around 0 star rank 4 combat power. These members surely could not fight off five twig blights at the same time.
Adrian was left with only 2000 DP and some change. He decided to purchase one of the weapons that was most looked down upon on the battlefield. He was going to purchase poison!
He only had 2000 DP so he could not purchase a very potent poison but he was able to buy a form of Laxative gas for 2000 DP. The twig blights would be immune to this poison so there was no need to worry, and the goblins would only enter the battlefield after the poison had already dissipated so they were safe as well.
After all of the preparations Adrian was left with a mere 261 DP, what he could purchase with this little amount was close to nothing.
Adrian calmed himself after he finished his preparations and began to meditate as he too needed to increase his strength as much as possible as he prepared for the inevitable.
He may be able to tell the guards of Endless City and report this to the authorities. But what ruler of a town would he be if he couldn't defend his own territory? And letting the authorities know would only delay the inevitable, it would not stop them. The only way to stop them completely was to kill Lei Fu and Adrian planned to do just that when they came to attack.
There could be no survivors as if they lived to tell of him commanding an army of twig blights he would surely be wiped off the map by Endless City. They would not allow someone who commands an army of monsters to live near their city like that. Even if there was no proof he was an evil person. Good people died all the time for unjust reasons after all. They just had to swipe it under the rug.
