Once upon a time, there was a prince whose birth was cursed with shadow powers. The prince didn't see it as a curse, instead he saw it as a blessing. He was ambitious, and even though he wasn't the crown prince, he made himself one. His path was paved with blood, and he took the throne quickly and efficiently by slaying his own father. Some say it was planned for years, others said one moment was all it took for things to change.
The prince became king, and nothing in his reign was constant, except the man who stood by his side since his childhood. The young king's advisor hailed from a long line of royal advisors, but he wasn't in the main family. He slaughtered his own flesh and blood, just like the king did, to get to where he was. Some said the king gladly got rid of the old advisor and installed his most trusted ally into that spot, which wasn't an unusual behavior.
