I stayed silent for the majority of the car ride. Of course, he had a top model luxury car. I had become so sick of this lifestyle, I wanted no part in it for the rest of my life. If only life worked that way.
There was a slight drizzling and I watched the raindrop drop down in the windows, slightly mesmerized.
I had always fantasized about getting wet in the rain.
"It'll ruin your image" my mom had said, sweetly threatening to punish me if I ever did that. Since then, I'd hide under the covers when it rained to avoid the temptation of getting wet. I was able to guise it as a fear of thunder.
"Alayna?" Jin whispered softly, catching on to my mood. Fleetingly, I remembered sharing this. Did he remember too?
"Yeah...?" my voice came out gentler than I intended to. When he turned left into the fancy side of the city, I was gaping at the sheer glamor of this side of the city- the huge billboards, the clean pavements, and the sleek shops.
