Chapter-18
I was watching the gentle rising of his chest as he breathed. My head echoed the way he had said my name.
I watched him for what felt like hours before my eyes drooped and I fell asleep. I was aware of warmth and I only felt warmer when I resurfaced in the wee hours of the morning. I didn't dare open my eyes.
I didn't want it to be a dream I had conjured up but I didn't want it to be real, either. A small sigh escaped my mouth and he cuddled closer to me.
I relaxed against him, caught in a dilemma. Staying a little longer wouldn't hurt, would it? I let my hands move slowly and stopped when it reached his face. During the days of my captivity, he had barely slept. This was the first time I had ever seen him this calm.
I opened my eyes. Adrien was still out of it. It was better to move away than to freak him out. I tried removing myself from his firm grasp.
