Chapter-13:
I kept my eyes close even as I emerged from the realms of sleep. I became aware of my surroundings and sighed, wishing I could postpone reality. I felt well-rested and moved my fingers towards the target I sought.
The call felt like a fever dream I had conjured up. I wanted to confirm its authenticity before getting my hopes up.
I opened my eyes instantly when my fingers encountered my phone. The screen was black and I couldn't help but hope we were still in the call. Maybe I could whisper a good morning before hanging up.
I deflated like a balloon when I noticed he had hung minutes after I had slept. The previous night had shaken me up and everything I thought I knew was blown out of proportion. I was thrown out of the loop, quite literally.
The sense of belonging I felt in the organization had vanished seconds after realizing the mysterious leader was none other than Jin. The same Jin who, broke my heart and let me suffer for another year.
