Peral
I stared down at the man lying on the ground, not moving an inch, making us both worry for our lives. I didn't want Kate to be labeled as a murderer because she hit him while trying to save me.
Kate looks up at me with fear in her eyes, holding the rod in her hands while the blood slowly drips down on the floor.
"Kate, Kate," I said, shaking her arms and calling her, trying to bring her back to me and tell her it's fine. "It's fine; he'll be fine," I tried to assure her, but nothing was working. I was on the edge of breaking down; seeing the man lifeless on the ground, was definitely not what I wanted to witness today.
It just happened so quickly, and if it was her, I am sure I would have done the same for her. But seeing a man on the ground covered in blood, is not the sight I would want to witness one more time in my life.
