Chapter 17 - The Main Course

Well, that fight was harder than I thought, luckily the sun didn't get in my way.

I don't know but from what I have heard the Moonlit house is stronger at night. Luckily none of my fights are happening at night. I look around and every vampire is fine. The sun is out and they are fine no one has turned to ashes. Why did I think that?

Ohh yeah, one of the people who attended one of my banquets said vampires turned to ash when the sun was out. Well, they couldn't have been more wrong.

I walk over to the waiting room after Evan tells me to get ready for the next fight.

I decide to use a bow this time, I think it will be a little harder this fight but hopefully, I can capitalize on the fact that I used the sword last round and get a little surprise advantage.

That would be the best scenario but we will see.

A couple of minutes go by and I hear someone say something.

Announcer: Well come back, everyone!!! The 5-minute break is over and we will resume the fights. The second fight is Seer VS Evan Moonlit!!!

Announcer: Everyone is in battle position. 3,2,1 GOOO!!!!!

(Seer POV)

I push my feet backward and draw my bow while my momentum takes me backward.

After I slow down Vereth conjures a blood javelin and throws it at me.

I shoot an arrow at it but it barely slows it down, I then sidestep the javelin it goes right past me and then just disappears.

I check everywhere for the javelin and I hear angelica's voice say ("Since they manipulate blood they can put the blood back in their bloodstream and can reuse the blood in different ways".)

I draw my bow and sent 3 arrows he uses his blood to stop the arrows. He throws a couple of blood daggers at me. I dodge and shoot 2 arrows at him.

He then shoots 10 blood bullets I jump over them and he aims a blood arrow right at my chest.

As soon as he releases it and I am screaming at myself (I DIDN'T ABOUT THIS WHEN I JUMPED).

Angelica- Don't worry it seems if you hit the arrow three times the blood disperses.

Seer- Ok Battle sis

Angelica- Wow I "seer"(a play on the word for "I see") how it is I guess no more battle tips

Seer- I'm sorry please give me battle tips. PLEASE

I proceed to shoot three arrows at the blood arrow and the blood disperses. Angelica was right I knew I could count on her.

Don't worry she is an angel in my eyes. After this, I will dedicate a shrine and pray to her.

He then rushes in with a dagger and swipes at my neck.

I dodge by tilting my neck and head back. I then make space by dashing back. I shoot 5 more arrows in quick concession. He dodges two and blocks the other three with his finger blood daggers.

The fight goes on for about another minute, during which we trade minor wounds.

Then he goes for a more aggressive combat style and is constantly on my tail.

The only thing I can do is try to shake him off but if this continues I am the one going to lose.

Then I thought of something, it is reckless but if I can catch him off guard doing this I might be able to win.

If I mess this up I will immediately lose.

There is nothing like the present I suppose, now I just need to wait for an opening.

The constant flurry of daggers really doesn't help.

The window of time I have for this to work is very limited.

More small cuts appear on my body, I have little time to retaliate because I am focusing on dodging more than countering him.

After a couple of seconds of fending off the flurry of blows coming from his daggers, he has a small opening.

I can finally enact my brilliant plan, in that small opening, I load three arrows and dash as close as I can to his stomach, and release all three arrows.

Only one of the arrows hit. So much for my "brilliant plan", I am now in a horrible position.

He is starting to heal, so I can only think to shoot more arrows while being this close to him.

I see him look down at me and conjure some floating blood swords and daggers in his hand.

My mind is in overdrive, what is the best choice of action? To back off or be more aggressive, dodge and reset our fight, or attack and hope it works out.

I decide to take the riskier decision, this will make or break the fight.

Here goes nothing, time to roll the dice.

While I notch four arrows rapidly, I see the swords and daggers start to close in on me. To make sure I hit him in quick succession so he can't regenerate it all immediately, I need to stay close to him.

I twist my body so the swords pierce my legs skim the side of my arms and the daggers only cut the surface of my skin.

Right after they make an impact on my body I shoot my last arrow and I see Evan come out of the trade a little worse for wear than me.

Evan- I surrender that was a good idea and normally you would have won the duel and maybe even killed the person there, but you even though you didn't kill me the bravery you showed and you did one of the best choices you could have in that situation.

My body is riddled with wounds, and Vanessa comes out and pushes me to the waiting room.

Vanessa- You need to wait here, We need to patch you up and when you bleed it is a lot easier for vampires to smell you, and you smell divine. You smell like a divine wine, you smell extremely intoxicating.

That would mean you garner a lot of people trying to suck your blood. I can't stress how good you smell, so much that you must wear perfume or something so your smell isn't so prominent.

People would do so many things just to get a drop of blood. Even the smell would make even some of the most disciplined vampires go crazy.
