"Oh, is Yama; the Ruler of the Netherworld still scared of beating up ladies?" He asked with a taunting smile as rebutted with a frown.
"If they were ordinary gods, I would have let Kiyoko beat them up; but they're elder gods, so my hands are tied." Sun chuckled ridiculously at Yama's response before looking to Valpak.
"Alright, since we're all caught up, I suggest we leave as soon as possible." He said with a rarely-seen seriousness that reminded Yama and Valpak of the dire battle they were about to fight.
He was old and looked a lot like those shrewd old geezers who can use their words to end a battle without lifting a finger.
This entity simply smiled in amusement; "I pity the puny little chosen soul; he is about to suffer.
These shameless seniors are terrified of that being, and here you are trying to wake him up." The figure mumbled still sporting his amused smile.
"Well, if they can't control him, then they would rather obliterate him so they can be free from their nightmares." A voice floated over from behind the shrewd old man.
"Little Lin, we have been bored for eons, do you want to go do something interesting?" The old geezer revealed a mischievous smile.
"M-ma-master are you-?" The voice stuttered in horror.
"-Trust me, it would be fun!" The man interjected as the spirit gave a helpless and defeated sigh before its presence vanished like it was never there.
The old geezer then stood up, cracked his knuckles, twisted his waist as if unlocking the knots in his bones, and with every pop, he seemed to grow a decade younger.
By the time he was done, he already had the appearance of a boy in his late teens; then he looked at the wormhole that had opened in front of him and smiled.
"It's been a long time since I last troubled these puny elder gods... Let's see if I've still got it." He muttered and stepped into the wormhole that vanished with a puff, afterward.
Deep into a plane of existence resided several universes, and within one of these universes were laid several different solar systems.
One of these solar systems hung there in space, located at the deepest recess of this universe, and on the first planet of this solar system was a giant island that floated atop the clouds.
The very foundation of this island was rooted within the clouds and the settlements on this island stood above the clouds seemingly in a confrontation with the three suns that existed in this solar system.
Right at the center of this island stood a majestic golden palace that reflected the radiance of the three suns onto every nook and cranny of the planet, ensuring that the entire planet experience daytime and nighttime simultaneously.
Within the throne hall of this palace stood a wide golden throne that seemed to phase in and out of reality, and on this throne sat two young boys that seemed to only enter their teenage years recently.
These boys looked like the exact replicas of themselves with no way to tell them apart, asides from their eyes.
One of them had deep blue eyes that seemed to hold the ability to pierce through the very soul and destiny of anyone who dare to stand in his presence; it was almost like no thoughts or emotions in existence could be hidden from him.
This boy was the God of Truth named, Kvass.
Kvass always had a somewhat lethargic and stressed aura about him that made him seem like he was someone who was tired of all things and simply wished to abandon all existence in its entirety.
It also seemed like he had been burdened by responsibilities he never and still didn't want to carry.
He sat there with one lap over the other and his elbow was laid on one of the throne's armrests with his fist propping up his head which had a bored and disappointed facial expression.
Beside him was his twin who lay on the throne facing upward; he also had one knee crossed over the other as his leg dangled to and fro like the pendulum of a grandfather clock.
He, just like his twin brother had a white robe, with golden embroideries.
Whilst Kvass had embroideries of several golden eyes that shone with blue light, Imros on the other hand had several golden question marks that emitted multicolored lights.
Imros, just like his embroideries radiated an aura of complete uncertainty; it almost felt like anyone around him could be his best friend one second and his sworn enemy in the next, but currently, he had a playful expression on his face, unlike his twin brother Kvass.
"Kvass, are you still bothering about the decrees we received from Ephy?" Imros asked as his multicolored eyes looked toward his bored brother without a change in his posture.
"I hate it whenever they use the powers of the Obscurity to shield their intentions from me. I can't even tell if they are intentions are pure or if the mission was a selfish one." Kvass grumbled like a wronged kid who had been bullied by the elderly.
"Un, I understand. Your powers only allow you to take actions that are true, pure, and just, and anything else will cause you to weaken significantly." Imros muttered as he rose to a sitting position.
"It is indeed troublesome. We the elder gods have been bound to answer whenever the true spirits call on us, which means this mission can't be avoided.
Should we ask Aunt Roldia for help then?" Imros suggested.
"Basing my decisions on a fifty-fifty also counts as a taint to my divinity." Kvass declined with a stressed sigh.
"How about Aunt Iphine?" Imros suggested once again.
"Ugh, I will never myself to be tangled by her pesky threads of fate." Kvass had a very visible irritable expression on his face causing him to look like someone who had just eaten bull dung.
"How about-" "You will tire me to death with your questions and suggestions, Imros!" Kvass's voice came out with a little bit of frustration, stress, and annoyance which caused him to let off a little steam and calm down.
"I'm sorry brother; it's just that your questions and suggestions always throw me past my tipping point." Kvass apologized as he gazed dotingly at his twin brother.
"I'm always happy to help you vent some frustrations. Our powers simply put a lot of burden on us." Imros returned Kvass' doting expression before his eyes lit up once again as if he just got a flash of enlightenment.
"-and here comes another suggestion." Kvass said with a helpless chuckle as he smiled at his twin brother.
"Alright, what is it; let's hear it."
"How about we do it this way…" Imros explained his idea to Kvass who frowned slightly.
"Won't that anger the true spirits?" Kvass asked in a serious tone.
"Hehe he, look who is asking the questions now."
"Well, since they dared to hide their intentions and reasons from you, then this would serve as a true and pure justice, wouldn't it?" Imros said with a smirk.
"Furthermore, this would also increase your divinity even more, since we are dealing with true spirits here." He added before returning to his earlier posture.
"Who knew one of the Laws of All Beginnings would have such a minuscule loophole?" Kvass commented as Imros sprung to his feet in delight.
"Ah ha, there goes another question." Kvass smiled at his brother as his mood lightened a little.
"You won't forget me when you harvest the divine energies, will you?" Imros questioned once again.
"Bros before hoes, brother; since you have helped me, you will naturally be rewarded with your share." Kvass replied.
Then in that exact moment, a pillar of golden light fell from the heavens and gathered around him, but Kvass simply ignored the energy and let it enter his body; it seemed like he was too bored to even use the energy to raise the strength of his divinity.
Imros, on the other hand, simply smiled and muttered.
"You're too O.P brother. A simple just statement from you is enough to bring such huge amounts of divine energy your way; all you simply need to do now is to stay true to your words and you will be able to finally absorb the energy to increase your strength once again."
Imros smiled as he looked at his brother who simply responded with a helpless sigh.
"Well, it also comes with its downsides; the ability to always know that those you truly trust can also lie to you is a very heartbreaking cycle of endless agonizing experiences to live through."
Imros could feel the level of pain in his brother's tone; but being the immature one of the two of them, with only questions but no solutions, he was at a loss about what to do to comfort his brother.
