"Beira; the goddess of the hunt, report to the goddess of oracles to accept your mission at once!"
Beira looked to the sky the moment the voice trailed off, and that split second was enough for the twin to flee away from her and put some distance between her and themselves.
But just at the moment when the twins began to think they were safe, Beira's snort abruptly floated over from behind.
The twins blanched in horror as they looked behind them to see an evil grin plastered on Beira's pretty face.
Then all of a sudden, Beira blinked from her position with a speed that surpassed even teleportation, from about a thousand kilometers away and appeared right amid the shocked twins.
Then just as she was about to catch them, the sun rose in the distance, causing her to fail on her decree; an action that results in the loss of divine energy.
Two tennis ball-sized orbs of golden light flew out of her body and entered the twin who looked to Beira and bowed.
"Your majesty is ever gracious." They chorused.
"You-! Hmph!" Beira initially wanted to refute, but the mission she was going to receive was more important than lashing the twins' butt cheeks.
Moments later, several beams of light shot out of their respective plains with the same mission and one destination in mind.
Meanwhile, somewhere within the deepest recess of the void, appeared two figures.
"Legion, what are we doing here?" Daniel asked as he looked at around him, only to realize that there was nothing as far as the eye could see.
But the sounds of objects clattering into each other and the terrifying roars of several beasts in the distance made Daniel realize that not only were there many things around them, but he couldn't simply see them due to the sheer density of the palpable darkness around them.
"This is where you will get the second treasure you need to take along into your next life," Valpak answered ignoring Daniel's form of address.
"About earlier-?" Daniel continued.
"-what about earlier?" Valpak inquired.
"About those five elder gods; can you tell me a bit about them?"
Daniel's curiosity couldn't be sated; he had seen the way Yama, Sun, and Valpak reacted at the mention of those elder gods, and he wanted to know about them.
"You mean Beira, Belen, Imros, Kvass, and Onir?" Valpak sighed as he recalled all he knew about the incoming threats that were weighing down his heart.
"As for Beira, she is the goddess of hunting. She rarely ever misses whatever target she sets out to hunt." Valpak caressed his chin as he explained.
"She is one formidable foe; not only does the amazon bloodline within her gives her immense strength and battle prowess."
"Her tracking powers also give her the ability to mark someone's soul signature, and that ensures that she would be able to sense her marked target's position as long as they are within the same universe, she's in." Valpak sighed.
"Then there's Belen, another troublesome one. She's the goddess of torture; I believe you should know what that means?" Daniel simply waited for Valpak to continue his explanation.
"As long as she wills it, she can gain the ability to use any weapon of a choice she has chosen to torture anyone; meaning she can gain the ability of a Sword Celestial if she chooses the sword as her weapon of torture at that moment."
"Luckily for us, her powers her limited to weapons she had only seen; weapons that can't kill her targets but only inflict the maximum amount of pain, and lastly, she can only wield a weapon at a time."
Daniel nodded as he kept listening.
"Imros and Kvass are the strongest of them all; almost as strong as me, Yama and Sun combined. Whilst Imros is the god of riddles, Kvass is the god of truth; both their powers complement each other very well."
"As for Imros; his ability allows him to forcefully pose three riddles to everyone he meets if he wishes to. Only those who have at least double portion of their divine energy are exempted, and beings on such level of power can be counted on my two hands."
"For every riddle, you fail, he would be allowed to raise a specific battle stat of two people by 100 percent; and he's guaranteed to pose three of such riddles."
"If Imros has an attack power of 50kg and his opponent has 95kg of strength, as long as his opponent fails one of his riddles, he can easily overcome the deficiency and even gain an advantage."
"Imagine failing all three and using those wishes to increase his strength, speed, and awareness, we'd probably not even know how we died." Valpak sighed as he recalled the O.P. abilities the elder gods possess.
"Though strong, Imros is only versed in evasive and escape arts, and curses and spells are his only vulnerabilities because they aren't battle stats but debuff effects."
"But the main problem about him is his brother, kvass; he is the direct opposite of Imros, and his ability allows him to see the end point of any fighting technique you think about even before using them."
"Eh? He can see into the future?" Daniel gasped in shock.
"Even better, seeing the end point of your thoughts means he can tell the end point of even the thoughts you don't act on."
"Furthermore, everyone is forced to fight him fair and square, because they can't use any tricks, underhanded means, or even faints when battling him; he can see through them all before you even begin."
"What's worse is that every lie that crosses your mind whilst fighting him enables him to land a guaranteed hit with any attack of his choosing."
"He's always seen alongside his twin brother and has honed his battle skills throughout all his cycle of reincarnations."
"In a group battle, he can easily reveal all the flaws in one's techniques to his teammates and have their opponents suffer a great loss in battle." Valpak allowed his words to sink into Daniel for a bit before continuing;
"As for Onir, he is the god of conquest. His powers lie within the rallying cries he makes during battle, and no one has been able to tell just how many he has."
"Some legends even claim he has developed his body to reflexively make the rallying cry called; 'Phoenix Rebirth'."
"The Phoenix Rebirth ability enables Onir to be resurrected back to full health the moment he dies with a fifty percent increase in his overall combat prowess."
"Unfortunately, he can use that ability on anyone he wills; but fortunately, he can only use it once per conquest, which means our friend usually keeps it as a life-saving move for himself."
"He also has other cries that are very dangerous in battle; like the one that makes his allies immune to three different attacks of their choice; or the one that increases his level of overall speed by fifty percent for every hit he lands." Valpak sighed helplessly as he muttered.
"Now can you understand how formidable their lineup is? Belen, Beira, Kvass, and Onir have immense attacking powers and varying techniques."
"Imros and Kvass can increase their allies' battle stats; Kvass can see the flaws in one's techniques and warn his allies against any possible incoming debuff. Lastly, even if we try to flee, Beira's ability makes it impossible to flee or hide for long." Daniel gulped as he realized that their opponents' lineup was indeed enough to finish the mission easily.
"But fear not, we aren't pushovers either."
"Yama is the perfect counter to Imros' powers and the greatest tactician amongst all demigods and even lesser gods, but the stupid imp thinks he's a gentleman and has never hit anything female before, rather he would flee or even placate his opponent with a peace offering; Hmph!"
"As for Sun, he is simply a monster on the battlefield and even most elder gods are scared of battling him due to his powers. In a nutshell, the longer the battle rages, the greater Sun's chances of winning."
Valpak showed a rare emotion of pride as he recalled many battles, he had seen Sun fight and fought with him.
"I hope you'd have left before the battle begins, though I have to admit that seeing a battle on such scale and living to tell the tale isn't something mortals tend to be able to pull off," Valpak added with a grin.
Just as they were about to continue their conversation, a golden dot of light appeared within Daniel's vision, expanding ever so slightly as time went on; and Daniel thought it was just his imagination playing tricks on him since he and Valpak were within a place where only absolute darkness existed.
