"Though I have to admit that seeing a battle on such scale and living to tell the tale isn't something mortals tend to be able to pull off." Valpak added with a grin.
Just as they were about to continue their conversation, a golden dot of light appeared within Daniel's vision, expanding ever so slightly as time went on.
Daniel thought it was just his imagination playing tricks on him since he and Valpak were in a place where only absolute darkness existed.
As a matter of fact, he was only able to barely see Valpak because of their proximity and the fact that he was being shielded by the blue energy membrane he got from Valpak's soul world.
Strangely, every time Daniel blinked, the dot of golden light seems to expand at an exponential rate.
The dot expanded into a circle and continued to expand until the visage of a golden staff speeding over at breakneck speed appeared in his sight.
Moments later, a massive golden staff the size of a turbine tower parked in front of the duo like a bust at a stop.
"Where's Yama? That imp is late again?" Sun who was lying leisurely on his truck-sized staff asked whilst munching a peach.
"Hmph! Cursing people at every chance you get… so beastly!" Yama who came out of a portal of twirling greenish-purple flames with a face filled with righteous indignation.
"Yama, let's get started." Valpak urged as Yama nodded and bade them over.
The moment they all gathered together, Yama waved his sleeves, and green-colored flames surged out of his sleeves, before encompassing them all and vanishing with a subtle puff!
"Watch out!" Daniel yelled anxiously as their group appeared right in front of a massive stone debris at point-blank range.
"Hmph!" Sun snorted as he smashed his staff toward the golden staff.
Boom!
A loud sonic boom, as violent as the explosive power of five 'Big Ivan' rippled off the point of contact with insane momentum.
It spread off into the distance where nothing could be seen, followed by the eruptions of several chunks of debris that flinted off the wall with enough penetrating power to put a hole through a ten-meter-thick nuclear pasta [Ask Google senpai.]
Valpak was the quickest to react, as he waved his hands to create a blood-red energy barrier that protected but pushed them several kilometers off the point of contact.
Sun, on the other hand, was sent flying almost twice as far as the rest of the group, with his arms twisted at an unnatural angle.
"You old buffoon, are you trying to get us killed!" Sun roared in fury as he sped over from the distance.
"Yama, are you okay; what happened?!" Valpak asked anxiously as he stared at Yama who had an ashen expression on his face. It seemed like he was using his sheer willpower to get a hold of himself.
Blergh!
Yama spat out a mouthful of blood before swaying weakly; but with a stomp of his foot, he regained his balance and grabbed onto his chest.
Sun arrived munching on the peach in his left hand whilst offering the one in his right hand to Yama who hurriedly took it and ate it as if his life depended on it.
After taking a few minutes to stabilize his internal injuries, Yama wiped off the blood trail at the corner of his mouth before looking at the ancient ruins in front of them with a solemn expression.
"Brothers, we need to tread carefully. Never forget that we are currently in our real bodies and any fatal injury we sustain has the potential to get us killed." Yama warned solemnly before returning his gaze to the trio who were waiting for an explanation.
"I tried to get us as close as possible to the throne hall but ended up slamming into a barrier that rebound us back to the outskirts of the ruins."
"Unh? What barrier?" Sun asked whilst Valpak simply looked into the distance.
Then Valpak's eyes suddenly erupted with purple flames that burned vigorously, and after a few seconds, the flames receded as Valpak looked towards Sun and Yama.
"It seems the throne hall has recovered a minuscule amount of its power." He muttered softly.
"Even with my current strength, I can only see the blurry outlines of the throne hall's gates; anything other than that, and I'm afraid I might suffer a backlash as well." Valpak added.
"But why is this happening now?" Sun asked with a frustrated expression.
If they really had to pass through the field of debris, then the mission might prove to be more troublesome than battling with the incoming elder gods, considering the result of their clash with the broken wall earlier.
"I think the throne hall might be reacting to their presence." Yama answered as he gazed towards Daniel and the Saturn-looking gemstone in his grasp.
"I second that thought."
Valpak agreed as he turned towards Daniel who was currently looking like someone who was suffering from an aneurysm because his brain was trying to process a situation that was well beyond its capabilities. Valpak chuckled slightly before gesturing towards Daniel.
"Welcome, to the primordial ruins of the Realm of All Beginnings!" Yama looked toward the duo and nodded.
"This place was once the home of all true spirits and the origin of Chaos." He added in a reverent tone, as he gazed into the massive space filled with innumerable debris and boulders of different shapes and sizes.
"Everything within this realm was built using peerless materials that came out of chaos itself."
Sun also added from the side as he gazed at the floating stones that had runes of unprecedented complexity shimmering all over them.
"Don't worry kid, when the time is right, we will naturally tell you everything you need to know; but for now, we have to get what we came here for and leave before those troublesome fellows arrive."
Yama patted Daniel on the shoulder as he maneuvered the cloud of green flames they were traveling on toward the center of the primordial ruins.
The primordial ruins of the Realm of All Beginnings was a location within the void that was as vast as five piles of earth combined.
It was filled with all sorts of things and objects; ranging from broken wall debris to residual shards of destroyed treasures, and even the remains of several indescribable beasts.
Every single one of these remnants or objects was radiating a level of energy that was so potent that it could destroy an entire planet if one could make them explode; a typical example was the fragment of the stone wall that Sun had tried to smash earlier.
One hour later, several beams of light abruptly appeared at the spot where Daniel's group had encountered the broken chunk of wall.
"But what could they be doing all the way out here, in the middle of nowhere?" Imros asked as Kvass simply ahead pointed into the distance.
"It seems the Primordial Ruins has decided to show up on this plane this time." He answered.
"But from the aura radiating from these ruins, it will still take a long time before that monster experiences a power overload once again." Onir added also looking into the depths of the floating ruins.
"Well, we'll never get our questions answered if we don't find the three idiots." Imros added; "Oh, don't worry about that Immy-dear; I'll make sure they spill the beans." Belen added with a sadistic grin that caused Kvass to frown at her in a repulsive manner.
It was like Belen was created to judge those who Kvass was too softhearted to judge. Kvass, despite being the god of truth, still believed in redemption and mercy; especially when the misdeed he was judging wasn't too vile.
But Belen on the other hand, wouldn't mind torturing a three-year-old orphan for stealing a loaf of bread, till he grew old and passed away.
In Kvass' opinion, punishments of such level were just as vile as the deed itself, if not more; thus, Belen's personality was always repulsive to him.
What's worse; Belen was crushing on them both, because she believed they were all made for one another.
In Belen's opinion, there was nothing more euphoric than having the god of riddles ask questions, the god of truth validate the victim's answers and then having herself, torture the unlucky ones who had given the wrong answers.
To her, there was no better form of threesome than that in all of creation.
"Alright, the mission was to intercept them, retrieve the crystal in their possession and capture the mortal soul dead or alive." Onir said as he looked toward Beira.
"We will be counting on you once again, Beira." Onir added in a soft tone and a gentle gaze that sent Beira's heart thumping faster than ever.
