Fergus Hume

Rebirth of a Fey Lord

Eogan Dubhan, the illegitimate heir of the legendary hero Cian Chulainn legacy, bears a dark secret: he remembers a past life as Fergus Mor, the most feared fey lord in history. Centuries ago, Fergus led a monstrous horde in a bid to conquer the world, only to be defeated by Cian, who sealed the practice of raising monsters as taboo for all time. Now, in a world that condemns the very act his bloodline once embraced, Eogan secretly raises monsters of his own, while a new threat emerges—demonic creatures born of Fergus's past sins. With the fate of humanity hanging in the balance, Eogan faces an impossible choice: will he inherit the dark ambitions of his former self, or rise as a hero to stop the world’s destruction? Power, redemption, and the line between hero and villain blur as Eogan’s destiny unfolds. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Author's Note: Publishing Schedule Update Dear Readers, Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for my stories! egg and I .... winning the heart

1946, Betty McDonald’s whimsical autobiography was as popular as baked beans; now it’s almost completely forgotten, but, tellingly, still in print. Alas, after an hour or two with The Egg & I, it was excruciatingly obvious that Betty McDonald’s book is not a classic. On some weeks, there might be as many as five competing challenges for each nonfiction slot, but rarely as straightforward as this. Literary classics cluster on the north face of Parnassus. For this vertiginous terrain there are different sherpas. Italo Calvino says that a classic is “a book that has never finished what it wants to say”. Ezra Pound identifies “a certain eternal and irresponsible freshness”; TS Eliot, much more astringent, observed in The Sacred Wood that “no modern language can hope to produce a classic, in the sense I have called Virgil a classic”. Alan Bennett wryly notes: “Definition of a classic: a book everyone is assumed to have read and often thinks they have.” Among nonfiction classics, the most treacherous category is that creature beloved of publishers – “the contemporary classic”. A second cousin to that notorious impostor is the “instant classic”. Such books will have been judged by slippery criteria: popular and literary critical fashion, a changing marketplace and new technology, bestseller lists and hype. In the past 100 years, a familiar palette of blurbish adjectives has given shape and colour to a moving target: provocative, outrageous, prophetic, groundbreaking, funny, disturbing, revolutionary, moving, inspiring, life-changing, subversive… a portrait of sir walter raleigh wearing a brocaded and beaded doublet The 100 best nonfiction books: No 99 – The History of the World by Walter Raleigh (1614) Read more This list raises another troubling question: is nonfiction “the new fiction”? There are some good writers who will argue that this is so, but I believe that nonfiction (which can sometimes successfully bring together many genres) is not, strictly speaking, a genre of its own. Creatively – yes – using narrative techniques borrowed from fiction, it’s possible to give certain kinds of nonfiction the aura of a distinct new genre. Yet, at the end of the day, “nonfiction” fractures into time-hallowed categories such as philosophy, memoir, history, reportage and poetry (see below), etc. This is particularly true of “nonfiction classics” from the 18th and 19th centuries, titles such as A Treatise of Human Nature by David Hume or On Liberty by JS Mill. By that yardstick, a recent classic will be quite distinct, chiefly because its literary and cultural milieu is so different

Cinderella Psycho Boyfriend

"Let go of me!" I yelled, trying to get free from my so-called psycho boyfriend. "I want to devour you. Right here, and right now." He declared with an authoritative voice, causing me to swallow my saliva hard, for I felt disgusted. I don't want to seem weak in front of him, so I decided to act smart. "Let go of me you jerk." Immediately after letting out my statement, Brian held my chin forcefully, as he leaned closer to me. He smirks devilishly and was about to place his lips on mine, which causes me to spit on his face. "You stink!" I coursed. Brian got so angry, and he raised his fist, ready to hit me on my cheek... But all of a sudden the door of the restaurant flies open. A young handsome man with a completely white outfit suddenly made his way inside the restaurant. He seems like a white knight in charming armor, who's coming to rescue the poor me from being assaulted. _________ They say being fat, and chubby is a freaking bad thing, but as for me, being fat is what makes me. Me! Seriously! Do all girls have to look like barbie dolls? I'm Ashley Connor and I'm freaking fat. Having an online boyfriend is something that I admire, and lucky for me, I met Brian Fergus. He's everything a lady could ever dream of, but after meeting him in reality. I figured out that he's a beast. Getting away from him is my biggest concern, and just when I finally found a white knight in shining armor, I became stunned to figure out that he was gay…. Well! That was what he had proclaimed to be. "What would happen when I no longer want to be Brian forever?" "Can I be able to make Mister White Knight fall in love with me?"

One hundred days with My Prince (HIATUS)

She’s a rebel and he’s the rule-maker. She participates in fighting competition, he hates brutality. They were two people who are never meant to cross paths, but she has a mission, to lure the crown prince out or else, it will be hers and her whole family’s life on the line. “Why do you keep avoiding me, woman?” he asked as he cornered her in a dark room. The lady avoided his warm gaze, “We’re not allowed to have this…this relationship, Fergus” she said in her rough voice, at that moment, she was thankful that her long bangs are covering her face, she can’t allow him to see her, or else, she might give in. “I can bend the rules for you Morgana, if only you will allow me” he said, convincing her to submit. Morgana Devereaux, the aloof woman sent by the Dark Cartel, a revolutionary, to keep an eye on Aiden Fergus, the crown prince. She never intended to seduce the prince, but here she was, being played by fate itself. ‘If only I can, I would’ she speaks on her head, if only the Cartel is not holding her family’s life, she would dive in with these feelings. However, she can’t be selfish, she won’t be selfish. “But I can’t risk it all for you Aiden, you have everything while I only have myself in this world if I give myself to you, what would be left out for me?” She said, not having any excuse on her mind but that. “There’s no turning back Morgana, keep in mind this day, the day you turned me down” he painfully said in his cold voice, the spring is now gone. He walks away, leaving the woman paralyzed in every second that passes by, her hand clutching her heart wanting the pain to subside. ‘I will gladly give everything I have to you...in the next lifetime’

A CURSED LOVE

Money,fame,beauty... Ainsley had it all.She was believed to be the happiest lady alive but one thing they always forgot was that happiness never stayed long enough for an unfortunate woman like her. "I'm here sis!Back in Scotland...I can't wait to meet your soon -to- be husband"I looked at my sister as I spoke. She had changed over these years. She wore a diamond necklace matching with a linen gown, she crossed her legs as she sipped the orange juice....which was something she hated doing. "Yes sissy! He's a really cool guy...I will be happy right now if he sees my adorable sister at this moment"She finally replied after going through her messages for like hours. She tried to hug me, but stopped in the process. With a questioning look on her face she asked,"Didn't you bring a date?" I just glared at her in silence.Everyone knew I was not gonna date again after what happened 5 years ago. I had been heartbroken for a long time and was trying to gather the pieces of my heart again.I didn't need another man to ruin my life. "Well let's get inside Freya...I have to see your husband" I walked into the big hall with confidence trying to match the lace embroidered gown I wore.I wanted to show everyone I did not need a man. That I was independent and strong.I stood beside my best friend Lilian, chatting and catching up after our separation. I suddenly heard a familiar voice behind me."Hi"I heard the man say."Sis meet my soon- to -be hubby"My sister held his right arm and he playfully touched her hair.As I turned to see her husband,I froze in shock. My sister was getting married to the man who left me after destroying my dignity. The only person to make me go weak in the knees. Secret Lover Ft. Astrid Vega (HIATUS)

"You will become the empress of the most prominent empire," mother said as she fixes my hair, adding a little touch to my already finished look. I stare at the mirror. I should be the happiest woman right now, getting married to the man I admired the most yet why does my heart wavers a little bit? "Let's go, His Highness is waiting for the most beautiful bride in the world" Esmeralda, my mother, taps me on my back as she looks teary eyes. I smiled a little bit. My mind is scattered everywhere, I can't even care less if the whole citizens of the Theavarian empire are watching my actions intently. I walk down in the aisle, dress in all white while the people started to look at me in awe. 'Our future empress' that's what they called me. "Do you take Logan Daxon Ruwedor Fergus as your lawfully wedded husband?" the priest asked but my eyes were pinned on his. The man who confessed his love for me yesterday, Grayson Rowan. 'I'm sorry...' With my lips trembling hard, I manage to say, "I do" and thus, the start of my loveless marriage. ------------ "Are you sure about this, Astrid?" Grayson Rowan's voice occupied the whole room, his brown tantalizing eyes and chiseled jaw made Astrid gulped nervously, why is it only now she realizes how attractive Grayson is? She handles the contract which is freshly signed. "Y-yes," she replied while looking down, "Then you must keep in mind the rules," Grayson said, standing up from his swivel chair. "Number one, no one will know about this contract, not even Brielle," he said, closing the distance, lifting Astrid's chin and making her look into his bright brown eyes. "Number two, you will come here only when I permitted you to do so" his rough hands tucking some of Astrid's loose hair. "And lastly, no strings attached" he finalized before sealing their contract with a kiss, it is indeed the start of their dirty little secret. She was an empress of the Theavarian Empire yet her body has been sold to the emperor of Alutia Empire.
