Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Hela sorted through all of the data and dealt with the unresolved issues here. Her eyes are burning from staring at the display all the time. She stood up and headed to the restroom, splashing some water into her eyes.

Her eyeballs glistened from the contact with the water. Her eyes were slowly turning crimson color. She checked herself in the mirror. Her reflection had been elegant before, but after long work hours, her appearance had changed into a crude demeanor was a different thing altogether.

She furiously splashed water on her eyes and face again and again, nonstop. She checked in the mirror once more. Her scruffy appearance and visible blood capillaries on the white surface of her eyes had lent her the appearance of a Devil. The make-up rinsed away, uncovering her obvious dark circle.

People claim that the eyes are mirrors of the soul. That made her titter. Do you think that's true? She sneered, appalled.

Why am I so connected with your eyes yet so unfamiliar with your soul? Perhaps your eyes persistently strive to be earnest, or perhaps your soul is unwilling to express itself in public. It's also plausible that these two are mistaken, and just I'm to a fault because I have never had eyes.

Hela told herself this. Because the fiction her eyes portrayed defied her real persona.

Sighing, she scrutinized the now-soaked upper portion of her nectarine shirt. She sauntered towards the en-suite to change her clothes. Moreover, the sun was dropping, so she switched to the clothing she had prepared for today's night.

Her work was almost finished only a few emails were there which she will deal with later.

She glanced in the mirror after changing into the dress. If anyone had seen her in this outfit, they would have assumed she was a Devil disguised behind a fairy mask.

All black. Yup! that's her comfort color.

Snow white skin with an article of contrasting color clothing She sprinkled little fragrances, strapping her black smartwatch on her right wrist. Detangling her auburn hair, combed it with her hand, and stormed out as she heard some commotion outside.

"Don't make me contact security, Mr. Peter."

Jane said professionally, narrowing her eyes at the unwelcome visitor, trying to hold him back, but being a woman came as a liability in strength. Peter turned his head, pushing her away roughly.

Jane's heels cracked and her ankle twisted making her shriek in pain. Just as she was about to kiss the ground someone held her waist stopping her from kissing the ground. She greedily clutched the last ounce of support and looked up at her savior.

"I am here dearie. Saving the damsel in distress."

Melody said winking at Jane who bashfully looked down and tried to stand straight but winched in agony.

Hela just stepped out.

She riveted her gaze on the dispute. Peter, the head of the HR Department, and rookie Lucas Stone were also present. The acts of her staff induced her eyes to grow sickle furrowing her brows at the sudden commotion.

"Is this the code of conduct followed in my office?"

Her voice reverberated in the cabin.

The cabin's temperature instantly plummeted. Everyone turns at the sound of the sliding door. The CEO was standing there dressed in all black, resembling similar to the Devil.

"Mr. Jones take Miss Miller to the hospital."

Hela issued instructions. She saw the way Peter showed disrespect. The director of the HR department, Mr. Jones, took Jane. She attempted to argue that she was perfectly all right, but a swift glare from Hela snapped her mouth shut.

Leaving the cabin door shut, the strange quietness ensued. Melody, again sat down on the couch to watch the show. Her initial perception of that shady character guy had already been eroded. Therefore, whatsoever decision Hela makes for him will be better.

She notices a young guy standing behind her and striving to blend in the air without being noticed by anyone, which piques her curiosity.

She chuckled at that boy. Very intriguing certainly. She dropped her other buddies a quick text.

~ I have a succulent, hot update for you. We'll tackle it later. ~

She slumped back while turning off her phone.

Hela observed Peter's disheveled looks. His previous suit coat was now unkempt, his hair was snarled, and his tie was misplaced. He didn't appear to be an employee of Wilson Co.

Clearly defoliating her company's prestige! A deranged.

That made Hela scoff.

She motioned for them to follow. They did it.

Peter restrained himself from retaliating. Earlier in the meeting room where he had cast a very believable fake smile on his rogue-like face was nowhere to be seen rather he didn't try to hide his disdain.

He was openly showing disrespect. He'd had enough of her crap. If she pushed him further, he won't be held accountable for the consequences.

Because he had some inside and concealed company news in his hands, and if she dared to downcast him, he wouldn't accept a guarantee if those things were out.

She reclined back in her chair, laying her boots-clad feet on the table. Peter's face contorted red with rage at the treatment she had given him. Melody couldn't help but snicker at her friend's disposition.

Serves you right. Bastard! Don't know how to behave with women. You deserve it.

She abruptly clenched her mouth shut. Oh, dear God, she did... She just cursed. Mary, Mother of God. She'd have to do anything her buddies desired her to because it was between the trio, excluding Hela.

A bright light flickered inside her head. She gleamed like a Cheshire cat. She was protected because no one could hear her or take a whiff of those foul words.

Pheww!! She exhaled a sigh of relief.

Hela didn't even have any idea about her friend's theatrical performances and centered her attention on the pair in front of her.

"Yes, Mr. Peter."

Finally, she turned to face him.

"Boss. How can you fire me? Isn't it supposed to be him?"
