Somewhere distant, far from the glitter and hustle and bustle of New York City.
A massive villa stood high and proud in the depths of the dark green wilderness, far away from the polluted air and those blaring horns. Its core is rejuvenated by breathing in naturally sourced air.
Standing on the bungalow's terrace at the apex. A woman leaned on the balustrade. All the territories were theirs as far as her eyesight could see. It was truly a vast area that encompassed approximately half of the woodland.
She blew pure air and rejoiced as she gazed at the starry night sky and relatively full moon. The celestial grew increasingly visible and apparent to the vision.
Because the temperature was chillier than the city, she drew her cardigan nearer.
It was the ideal time of year to see additional constellations and add them to her list of those she had already seen.
She straightened up and returned to her Celestron CGX 700. The all-black body with the tip exquisitely ornate with the silver lining sparkled in the starry night.
It was the sharpest telescope that existed at the time. It was the most efficient and powerful telescope for viewing magnificent astronomical objects, asteroids, and planetoids.
Vera Davis is a top model and actress who rose to prominence in recent years and has subsequently established a formidable influence in the entertainment sector on her own.
Her beautiful black hair was dense and glossy, prompting you to run your finger through it. Her pink pouty lips had become bare of lipstick. Her striking blue eyes were so compelling that the bystanders were entranced. Her flawless fair skin was cheery on the top.
Her diamond-shaped face was the most appealing feature. Her cheekbones are very prominent and sharp. It accentuated her already exquisite features magnificently.
Being a part of this industry was wonderful because fame and money are essential in today's society, but it also had pitfalls because many people were compelled to adhere to the unspoken norms of this glittering world.
Vera, on the other hand, consistently refused to budge. She never waived nor agreed to those rules. She was resolute and confident in herself, and success eventually kissed her feet with her continuous determination and hard work.
However, the glamour world is not always beautiful and shimmering. Many actresses and models were envious of her tremendous recognition and wealth, often striving to have her grovel and occupy her place.
Nevertheless, her unyielding and steely presence was enough to make them know their position and to never mess with her. Otherwise, she won't hesitate to play the dirty game.
Because she wasn't a saintess in the first place. She had seen her fair share of cruelty this world had thrown upon her.
Grabbing a scrapbook placed on the table beside her, she opened it to write it down.
"Musca constellation in the southern sky at about 13 hours right ascension and 70° south in declination. Its brightest star is Alpha Muscae, with a magnitude of 2.7."
Vera paused and jerked her pen because the ink flow suddenly stopped. She scrutinized the ink. It was desolate. Huffing lightly, she delved into her pouch for a glossy green pen and resumed her writing.
"This constellation was invented by Pieter Dircksz Keyser, a navigator who joined the first Dutch expedition to the East Indies in 1595 and who added 12 new constellations in the southern skies. However, it was originally called Apis i.e Bee it was dubbed Musca by the Dutch cartographer Willem Janszoon Blaeu in 1603."
She concluded the page with a full stop. She brushed her fingers over the cover of her scrapbook as she closed it. It was amazing, with a painting atop it.
Four girls sat with their backs facing the camera, clamping their hands on each and marveling at the meteor shower.
A voice interrupted her trance. She raised her eyes to the terrace's door. A girl stood there wearing a baggy tank top and sweatpants. Her face was covered in the darkness, but Vera recognized her.
"You began chatting to yourself once more. If those shrews find out, another scandal will be waiting for you to tag you as a wait..." She paused for a second before speaking again. "This time, I'm guessing ghost or haunted witch."
Walking over, the girl said.
"Let them, Xena. At the very least, they'd have something to do instead of wasting space and bothering others."
That caused Xena to sneer. Vera had formerly dealt with a handful of such controversies, but her company was forthright and supported its employees in eradicating the unfounded allegations.
"Yeah. Moreover, we have a Devil already and a witch won't be a bad addition to our group."
Xena declared and Vera glared at her.
Oh! She forgot that Vera was angry at Hela.
Vera brought out her Polaroid camera and snapped a picture of herself. Soon after, a little square-shaped gloss sheet sprang from it. She shakes it back and forth many times until the picture became clear.
Taking out the glue, she affixed her picture on the Musca constellation.
"I am truly beautiful."
Vera brushed her hands over the previous images, which were pinned to different constellation pages. She had made it a norm to take a picture of her whenever she spotted a different constellation and stick it together with the constellation, turning it into evocation.
Xena chuckled at her.
"Narcissism is a disease. Get it fixed as soon as possible, sweetie."
Xena said patting her shoulder adding up, "And the She-Devil is on the way."
Vera nodded and smirked. She didn't know because her phone was in her purse, which was lazily sprawled over the floor in the corner of the closet.
"And I'm looking for a doctor who can heal my narcissism."
Vera piped in, her lips curving upward, a cheeky smile blooming on her face. She looked like an enchantress.
Xena shook her head smiling, and Vera collected her stuff and the duo went downstairs.
