The young man situated inside the garden sipping from his fine wine and reading a martial art book casually cast a glance towards the three people closing off on the city.
If anyone were to observe him a little more deeply or if anyone was an expert at human behavior and thoughts, they would actually notice that a hint of hopelessness was deeply rooted in his gaze.
" I guess I have no choice, I'll have to relocate to another city."
His words were lazy as he spoke, literally appearing like he didn't promise his host that he will take care of whoever was threatening their peaceful environment in this city.
To look at it from another perspective, it's not entirely his fault that he would ' flee ', no not flee but relocate to another place without putting any fight against whoever was disturbing his nice quiet time in this heaven-like place.
The first time the young man showed up at his door with the intention of getting a mission from them, the head of the clan mistook him for a cultivator that was expected to arrive on the same day and protect the city for the next year.
Not letting the free food and luxurious lifestyle slide by his eyes, he took the chance without batting an eye or even worried that he might get killed if whoever they were waiting for knocked on their door and placed himself in the garden, being served every day like an emperor at his prime and peak strength.
In reality however, this young man's origins were unknown to anyone in this world but one thing I can be extremely confident of saying about this youth was that he will never bother to take a fight if he wasn't directly attacked.
If bothering him was a trigger to make him angry or display his power, then the Storm Empire would have been long doomed with the many unfortunate situations that transpired with this young man.
He nonchalantly thought as he got up from his comfy sea, a reluctant expression was displayed on his face as he got ready to leave this city," It's not like I wouldn't want to save my nice time in this place, it's just that dealing with three Godly realm cultivators will be tiring and might even make me sweat. That's not someone I'm willing to do for strangers unfortunately."
His reasoning would shake everyone who was a strong cultivator to the core since no powerful being that ever existed would dare to complain about getting tired in a fight, much less sweating while doing an effort like fighting.
To actually have the audacity to complain about such trivial matters like a 10-year-old girl was something that many people would attack him for if they heard his words at this very moment.
Right at the next moment, a shocking scene that would make the head of the clan burn with rage and faint in fear occurs in his backyard.
The young man casually stored the martial art book in his space ring and even the cup of fine wine and jar weren't sparred as he shamelessly took them away like he owns the place.
Then, with a casual move of his hand, he ripped the skin off his face, displaying a completely different face and facial expressions.
Old face full of wrinkles with grey hair and a long white beard that no one would even be able to have the wildest thought that this is the same young man that was seated here a few seconds earlier.
Swoosh!
With a swift tap of his right food, smoke was the only thing left in the old man's spot as he abruptly vanished from the harden, his next location totally unknown to anyone except himself.
At an extremely fast speed that could astonish a good chunk of cultivators in this part of the Empire, two figures could easily be seen chasing after a dark shadow, and if you took a closer look at them, you will effortlessly notice that no one had any unsightly expressions on their faces.
These three figures playing cat and the mouse were none other than Abaddon, Derek, and Ron. But the only difference was that they were now flying and not running on the ground.
At this moment, something that Ron never experienced before in his lifetime started invading his thoughts as he locked his gaze on the figure far in front of him.
When he first saw Abaddon killing off a whole Town and reaping all the benefits to himself, he didn't even have any change of expression since he was already sure that he was gonna take everything away from the demonic cultivator and lay his hands on that technique as well.
However, and as they just exchanged a move with each other, an unfamiliar feeling began dwelling inside of him that no one till this moment ever make him undergo.
He questioned himself as he muttered, " Isn't he a little too daring to actually have the audacity to threaten me with a merger city full of people? This is really an action that only people who didn't recognize me would take at this day and time! "
Indeed, Ron wasn't feeling anger nor fear after Abaddon evaded the attacks earlier or even him being this fast for an ant that is supposed to be easily squashed under his feet.
He was instead feeling humiliated by the ignorant thoughts of threatening him with some people lives. At his age, would he really care if a lot of people died whenever he could put his hands on the vitality-sucking technique that might extend his lifespan even further down the road?
If Abaddon realized that this old man that was supposed to be a righteous cultivator that is here to seek justice after he massacred the thousands of people in the town was this ruthless and immoral, he would surely take the same actions again.
He was undoubtedly trying to shift their attention to the city that he will soon attack and make an escape cause of that chaos right after, but that wasn't his main goal in this situation cause he was aiming for something way bigger than that.
His thought process would simply read all kinds of situations and he surely already foreseen the duo behind him not caring about some mortals and keeping on the chase, hence he didn't actually care if that didn't work.
His main goal however was to stir up trouble in this part of the Empire so chaos unfolds in this region and he could be free to do his things without any disturbing him nor his plans, and about the duo chasing him right now? He never placed them in his eyes from the first moment that he has seen them.
Soon, a city that spanned over thousands of yards filled up the three figures' vision as they flew at a fast speed in the sky, cold light flashed in Abaddon's eyes as he sped down toward the city.
Derek got terrified since contrary to his father, didn't know that a city existed not this far from the Town that they were just in, right after, fury took over him as he lost control of himself, his eyes bloodshot as he didn't care about his father taking action and sped toward the dark shadow at terrifying speed.
A delighted smile appeared on Abaddon's face as he spoke with a loud voice, clearly talking to the duo behind him, " Since you took the initiative to come find me, let me show you a river of blood as a welcoming present!"
After saying so, Abaddon raised his arm and pointed a finger at the city right below him, his movements didn't halt as he kept flying at top speed.
A black ball of spiritual energy shot toward the city. In mid-flight, the ball of spiritual energy shattered and enveloped the surrounding space in darkness.
Mid-Earth martial art: Dark Wonderland
The spell that he just cast was an earth-ranked martial art that the bare minimum for its usage was 1st layer of the soul palace, but not many knew that existed since it was gradually lost in the long river of time.
The sky above the city wasn't sparred as well and the trio up in the air suddenly felt like their vision got forcefully taken away from them.
In a better description, only the father and son went blind in this spell, since Abaddon could effortlessly see what was occurring inside of his spell without any issue.
