Derek tensed when he saw Abaddon using a martial art and right after everything went dark. His first thought was the safety of everyone inside the city.
He immediately muttered a few words and red energy started streaming out of him, the air around him was extremely hot that it could effortlessly burn anyone below the soul palace to death if he gets close to him.
"Low earth ranked martial art: World in Flames!"
Roarrrrr!
An illusory image that of a red dragon manifested itself right above Derek. The dragon didn't bother to gaze at anyone and roared, showing his terrifying teeth and enormous mouth to the enemy.
Derek sneered and simply waved his hand as a sign to finish the martial art. Blood flowed out of his mouth since he just used a martial art that was rather high-ranked for him and would surely injure him whenever he forcefully use it without enough strength.
A red mist spread around the area that the darkness covered, Derek and Ron getting their sight back in return. Right after, the red dragon wailed and shattered into countless pieces that instantly got mixed with the mist.
Suddenly, the city down below started shaking, the wind began howling as the bright red mist collided with the endless darkness. The two powers entangled for a moment, neither side gaining the advantage over the other until just a second later.
Boom!
Accompanied by an explosion, an intense shockwave sent the father and son stumbling two steps back. Ron's face was even a little pale as he held his son by the waist before he dropped to the ground.
From the terrifying power of the two martial art that collided with each other, Derek was taken by surprise and was directly sent unconscious, his injuries that were caused by forcefully utilizing the low earth-ranked martial art played a major role in it.
The city below shook for a little. Soon, several houses and tall buildings started crumbling on each other, and in just but a few moments, a quarter of the city turned into a chaotic land, blood flowing out of all corners and hundreds of people died in the process with thousands of injured people crying nonstop.
In contrast to all of this, Abaddon was nowhere to be seen.
Ron was dumbfounded by the demonic cultivator's swift actions, after all, he only checked out his son for a split second and that was more than enough for him to take the chance and flee again. He really missed no chances.
Ron was about to drop his son and chase after Abaddon without a care in the world about anything that was occurring around him and in the city when a sudden hand touched his chest taking him by surprise.
A weak voice entered his ears right after," Father, don't you remember mother's instructions before she died? Please help the people in the city."
Moreover, a tear flowed out of his right eye, and again lost consciousness. The will and mental strength that made him wake up after his first blackout was simply something to behold.
Ron hesitated for a second, but he then sighed in helplessness as he slowly flew down to where most of the city was destroyed, his intention clear as day.
" Even dead my love for you is still this deep, I guess I can't help can't I Lissy? " His cold expression vanished and a bright smile took over its place totally appearing like a whole other person.
Inside the city, at a luxurious pavilion that was on the other side of where everything was destroyed. A middle-aged man could be seen running with a panicked expression, sweat covering his back as he was extremely afraid of what's gonna occur.
A minute ago, the whole sky and city turned pitch black and no one was able to see anything that was more than a yard away from him.
Moreover, things didn't stop at that point and right after, a big explosion that shook the whole city made everyone's hearts drop to the ground since they felt that their end was about to come.
Luckily for him, the sky turned bright again and he could see what happened but after he saw the thick pillars of smoke rising from the other part of the city, he felt like his legs went weak and he immediately went to the young man that was an elder in one of the twelve great clans to ask for protection.
" Your Excellency, please beg my rude actions for opening the door this forcefully and not asking for permission but the three cultivators just exchanged a few moves again and the whole city is threate..."
He halted his words mid-way after he just noticed that no one was seating in the chair, all of a sudden, a chill run down his spine as he thought about the worst possible case scenario. His body unconscious shivered and he dropped to the ground realizing that his end was set in stone and any efforts are gonna be futile.
" Is this the end?"
He wasn't to blame in such a situation, since a lightning tribulation wouldn't actually notice whenever anyone was running out of the city or even move since it wasn't a living being in the first place.
But cultivators were way different, especially the ones that would fight this openly around cities without a care in the world about the consequences that will have to bear from the ruling clans.
Thus, running away at this point where the tiger was gazing at you bearing his fangs is like asking to be killed first before anyone else.
" Phew, that was close. As expected of my own decisions, fleeing the city was really the best decision or else I would have been forced to waste a few seconds of my precious time and get tired in the process."
A young woman dressed in a long white robe heaved a sigh of relief as she watched the whole scene unfold in front of her, all the while unfazed by the terrifying power exchanged by the two people caused in the process.
Right after, only dust was in her spot and the woman was nowhere to be found, vanishing out of the place for good.
