Chapter 26 - The first trial?

Andrew ignored the yes or no question that dangled in front of his face and looked at his rewards.

"First clear reward? Does this mean i wasn't the first to clear the first set?" Andrew murmured to himself wearily.

If it weren't for the fact that his classmates were transported to another world, would he even be at the top? This struck a blow into Andrew's large ego as he felt himself being knocked down a peg. Ignoring the what-ifs that won't come to be Andrew looked at the clear reward.

'Open clear reward'

--------------

Congratulations on being the first clear!

Pick a reward

1)Mimic spell

2)Passive: deaths will

3) stat bonus of +3

--------------

Andrew looked over the options carefully not wanting to waste any opportunity given to him and this time he was stuck between three hard choices.

A mimic spell, which Andrew could only assume was the spell the now decapitated man laying on the floor behind him used to turn into a child. Which could be useful for numerous reasons that Andrew could see, as well as some… less reasonable things.

The passive skill could be a very valuable asset to Andrew but he didn't know what the skill itself was and what it would do so that was a huge risk in itself. It could be one of the best skills obtainable for him right now, but where he was currently he was really worried about not being strong enough.

So that's where the stat bonus comes into play, this was a guaranteed benefit to help himself survive. This would also be the biggest boost that he would have ever been granted and will be certainly helpful to his future encounters.

Andrew stared at the options in deep thought and wonder but he felt that with his current situation all three were great options. But Andrew decided that deciding now was really necessary as he turned to open his own personal stats

Andrew looked at the ever expanding menu in front of him with a small grin and nodded to himself as he looked back toward the prize menu in front of him before pausing once more.

"Would a second opinion be better for this decision?"

[i think that you should take the passive.]

"Judging by the previous suggestions you've given id rather not."

[yes, it's a great idea to ignore the advice from a godlike being.]

"Do you even know if you are a godlike being or are you just guessing?" Andrew snarked back swiftly. He has been letting some of his anger and loneliness on the system without knowing which has caused him to have a bad view on the insights the systems gives.

[no… but i can feel that im something super strong!]

The voice trailed off strongly it's deep voice somehow talking like an excited child picking up a wooden sword for the first time and immediately hitting his sibling.

"Well, you can shove that feeling down your mythical throat and let me try and decide."

[YOU SAID YOU WANTED A SECOND OPINION]

"Not from you!" Andrew snorted back at the loud complaining voice that rang throughout his ears.

Andrew ignored the sulking that he could somehow feel through his surroundings and looked back at the list of rewards before closing them and turning back to the main large screen in front of him.

"Yes"

As usual a door opened at the end of the tiled floor as Andrew looked around the jagged room. His eyes crawling around his surroundings before settling in front of him. With a sigh he looked down at the floor in front of him and began to walk forward. Only he knew of the long path he had in front of him.

The boring descent began and Andrew traced his steps down the long stone staircase, his steps ringing out loud through the hollow air. Causing him to feel a little uneasy, but regardless a large metal door was soon shown in front of him and he opened the large metal door.

The view in front of him was a solid stone wall, the door opened to nothing but a solid sheet of rock. Reaching out towards the solid sheet of jagged rock Andrew was shocked to find his arm meet nothing as his arm glided throught the seemingly solid material. Andrew saw his arm enter into nothing as he couldnt see where it was going. His arm was now elbow deep as he looked at it with confusion and felt the air on the other side.

A cold breeze took over his arm as he solidified his resolve. Stepping through the rock terrain he looked around frantically for a surprise attack but was met with nothing but a large pine forest. The pines stood far above his head, too the point that Andrew felt insignificant as he walked towards the nearest tree to touch it's rigid bark.

The blue screen blurred into sight in front of him.

Andrew read over the details of the trial he was given and was kind of impressed with the dynamic of this trial.

"So the dungeon even has stuff like this." Andrew said to himself as he swiped the screen in front of him to disappear.

Looking around his surroundings Andrew was greeted with silence, not a single bird flapping it's wings or squirrel jumping between the trees could be heard.

Instead of waiting around for the week to end Andrew decided that it not only would benefit him to help the village but it would also be nice to potentially have a bed under his back and a roof above his head.

Andrew strode forward in hopes to find some signs of life to make his journey quick and easy. The tall pine trees with truncated branches loomed over his view as he noticed a small decent to his left. Turning towards it Andrew looked around to try and study the trees to maybe find out what kind of tree it was.

But what unnerved him was the fact that he couldnt, he was sure that he didnt know all of the different trees in the world but he was danm sure that he knew a majority of pine trees.

The sound of water crashing was slowly reaching his ears as he continued to walk forward. Rocks larger than him were sprawled out around him as he traveled down the hill towards a large river.

It's white caps raced as he looked at the astonishing speed of the river.

"Woah, I would need a boat to just to stay still." He noted to himself as he crouched down to look at the water.

SNAP

A branch snapped in front of him, Andrew looked up sharply drawing his hands to his sides to the pair of axeblades. But he looked up to see 2 people in front of him. A male whose brown hair was rugged and flowed down his back. A pair of deep green eyes and a small badly shaved goatee. But what stood out to Andrew the most was a large pair of curled horns on top of his head.

Beside him was a lady with vibrant ginger hair who also had green eyes and an absurd amount of freckles sprayed onto her face as she looked at him with fear. She had a smaller pair of horns that also curled towards her otherwise human face.

Andrew also froze in his tracks and remained in a solid position to stare at them in confusion. His brain racking in his head, he tried to connect the dots in his head and thought wildly.

Andrew stood up slowly to try and not startle them, when their might be a language barrier between two people body language is the only way to communicate.

The man in front of him slowly drew out a sword and looked at him with caution.

Andrew lowered both of his axes to his sides, refusing to let go for self defense.

"Uhhh, hi?" Andrew said quietly as he looked at them with hope that they could understand him.

The two beastpeople in front of him looked at him with great surprise and the man looked at him before opening his mouth

"&#@)$*&?" He spoke with a light tone while trailing off to symbolize a question.

Andrew sighed before looking at him before slowly putting his axes back into their holder. Looking at the man in front of him do the same Andrew smiled softly and watched as the mans eyes widen sharply and quickly pointed behind Andrew letting out a aggressive tone.

"@%#$!%^!"

Andrew reeled around to find three wolves slowly creeping down the hillside who let out a roar in anger at being spotted.
