It looked like Folen was starting out with attacks that were able to be blocked easily to allow Andrew to get used to the new sensation. As the sword slammed down towards him Andrew used both of the axeblades to direct the strike away from his body. The movement itself was almost as natural as breathing as it went smoothly.
So smoothly that it caught Folen off guard whose arms were swayed diagonally towards the ground causing him to do an off center roll on the ground on contact.
"Looks we dont have to be too worried" He let out a grunt as he stood up brushing away grass that stuck to his knees.
Andrew let out a small laugh, this was the first time he had seen Folen do anything that wasnt perfection in his eyes.
Folen looked at him and let out a small chuckled as he charged back a lot faster than before.
"WOAH" Andrew was lucky to have his natural instincts as he blocked a strike with the blunt end of the axe.
Using his other free arm he swung his second axe towards Folens waist, who released his sword from the axe and backed off considerably.
Andrew used this open chance to launch a large flurry of attacks, swinging horizontally as he trudged forward. HIs two large axes gaining more momentum as he let his arms guide the weight naturally around his body as Folen dodged playfully.
Strike after strike was dodged easily and Andrew felt his arms tighten due to the exceeding momentum, his Axes wanted to fly away from his arms. Thinking of a way to get rid of this in a way that would be useful in a fight. Making up his mind he brought both of the axes near eachother so each swing was interchangeable between the two as the lined up perfectly. Using both arms to swing a wide strike straight across Folens chest and using the back of his feet as a pivot point.
Folen watched this with interest and dodged as if the Axeblades trailed at the pace of an injured snail.
Spinning on his feet he dug his heel into the ground and tried to mimic the move he did with the sword, bringing both axeblades over his head and jumping slightly to grant the attack even more power.
His shoulders locked tightly as they threatened to dislodge themselves from their sockets as Andrew threw them down as hard as he could.
He saw Folen raise his sword to block the attack like he had done before with the sword, An excited glint shot accross his eyes as he looked up at him. Suppporting the blade with one hand Folen lowered both of his legs and prepared for a monumentous impact.
BANG
A loud sound erupted from the contact between the metals as Andrew didnt move from his place and he watched Folen fly backwards faster than Andrew could run. Rolling on the ground multiple times and bouncing over small bumps in the ground before slowing down to a complete stop.
Andrew looked down at his hands, the two large axes unharmed and shaking fruriously as the a tingle of numbness radiated through his whole upper body. It felt like he had hit a baseball with a metal bad incorrectly, just a thousand times over.
He looked up to see Folen stand up quickly unharmed of course.
"Now THATS what im talking about." Folen laughed loudly as he ran towards Andrew once more.
'For fucks sake, this man.' Andrew raised is right axe to block a sword strike from Folen. The collision between the metal letting out a loud shreick in both of their ears.
Folen looked down at him with seriousness as he stuck relentlessly, strike after strike. Using the deflection to help guide his next strike.
"Come on, Find a way to stop my attacks." Folen backed off for only a second to yell at him before charging back at him. His strikes were to fast to deflect on a way Andrew could control and they were continuous, no break. It felt like a beast was trying to break his axes rather than a teach him how to stop an attack.
Everytime Andrew tried to block a strike head on by matching it's path Folen would just rotated the blade along the axe before Andrew could do anything with the opening.
'What the fuck am i supposed to do against this?' Andrew screamed to himself as his mind raced. Multiple smal cuts starting to appear over his clothing and open skin.
Andrew watched Folen as his strikes didnt relent, the constant vibration from the constant strikes traveled up and through his body. Each time he stuck Andrew would block with the closest axe.
'Maybe two would work?' Andrew prayed, after all if this didnt work he would be wide open for another attack and would be weak to anything next.
He wated for his opportunity as strike after strike collided in front of him, watching how Folen would prepare for the next. Step after step Folen would push him back ever so slightly.
Andrew grit his teeth and used one Axeblade to block once again, this time purposefully used his opposite axe and locked the sword between the sharp extrusion on top and the blade of the axe. Disallowing any froward movement and forcing Folen to rotate the other way to unlock his own blade.
"Well done, not quite what i would like to see. But it does the job well." He nodded in approval before dropping all pressure in his attack.
Andrew stood there processing why that worked, but he gave up as he was beginning to grow tired after the long day that he had, letting out a large yawn before looking around.
"Would sleeping even help in my spiritual state?" Andrew asked earnestly as he sat down on the gras and laying both Axeblades on his side.
"Maybe, i havent really slept in a long time. Unless being forced too at least." he grinned widely showing his white teeth.
"SO the stronger you are the less sleep you need? You could fight forever if you wanted too?" Andrew asked turning his head upwards towards Folen.
"No not quite, theoretically yes. But your mind still needs rest from the stress of fighting, So a mental recharge is necessary. Like a barbeque, That's what I used to do at least." He tilted his head a little at the last words to nod at the fact that he couldnt anymore.
"I see, thats cool" Andrew was once again excited by the fact of pushing his body to the limits has always been on e of his facinations. He was just too lazy too do so and would rather make it through with his head rather than his strength.
"We'll let your mind have a break for a bit, ill be here again in a couple of hours" He said as he dissapeared from his spot in a haze.
Well that was a quick goodbye" Andrew said slowly before turning his head towards the small cabin that lay across the small field in front of him.
He looked down at the two axes in his hands and twirled them around slowly, before setting them down on the grass and walking back into the wooden cottage.
The warm environment helped lift an unseen weight off of his shoulders as he looked around the warm room.
"Honestly, these days have been the longest half of my life" Andrew joked mostly to himself as he lay himself down across the comfortable stitched couch.
He lay there staring at the well installed wooden ceiling as he wondered about how he has handled the past couple of days.
