"This place again?" Alucard thought as he stared around. He was back in the same gloomy desert, with the old man beside him blabbering about things he couldn't really understand. For some reason, unlike the last time he couldn't control his actions and words, this time he had full control.
"Thinking about why you're here again?"The man said without sparing Alucard a glance.
"Yes…who…who are you, and why do I keep on coming to this place?" Alucard's voice was careful and gentle. He didn't know who this old man was after all.
"You'll find out soon, but we just have to keep walking, and hey, don't fret, I don't bite…of course, I drink blood, but I don't bite. Okay, maybe there is biting in the process."
"I'm not scared. I mean, I don't care if you suck my blood or not. What I'm asking is: where is this place? And where the hell are we going to?"
"Those are a lot of questions. I'll try to answer them, but for now, we just need to walk in silence before we attract the desert wolf; they are really just like spoiled kids. I bet they'll be delighted to see two tasty meat."
Alucard gave the man a careful look. Was this guy okay? Did he just entrust his safety to someone who had completely lost it?
Finally, not able to control himself, Alucard asked, "Are there wolves in here?"
"Of course, and they have a special appetite for things walking straight on two legs."
"And old men with fangs and bald hair, right?" Alucard asked, his tone serious. If the old man hadn't listened carefully, he never would have thought it was sarcasm.
A bit later, the two came to a stop in front of a giant mountainous Sand Though they have been walking through sounds all this while, this was the most prominent one the two had come across.
"What now?"
"We wait."
"Wait for what?"
"Wait for the sand men to come out."
"Isn't this a dream?" Alucard finally asked the bugging question in his mind:
"I don't know, but we could always test it out. But now. Let's do the stuff we came here for first."
With his words, the mountainous desert trembled a bit as though it would soon collapse to the ground, then some seconds later, everywhere went silent again.
....nothing happened.
Alucard glanced at the old man, expecting the latter to say something, but he was just quiet.
"Was something supposed to happen?"
"Of course…but why? oh, I see. The man suddenly glanced back with a mysterious grin that was a little bit forced. "The wolves sniffed us out. How unlucky."
By now, Alucard squinted his eyes as he stared at the wolves. The wolves had red slit eyes that glimmered murderously in the dark, and their howls were even more terrifying.
'Why doesn't it work?' Alucard thought as he tried to create a blood spear, but it wouldn't just appear; usually, if a warlock or witch exhausted their mana, it would take an hour to refill, and coupled with the sex he had with Ella and Siena, bringing his mana to a little over 250, Alucard was confident.
He could take these wolves out if his vampire abilities don't work.
But,
He couldn't feel anything as he tried to summon his magical elements as well. It was like he never had any magic abilities to begin with.
"I hate this shit!" Alucard cursed but strangely enough, he felt excited to fight these monsters.
"Vampire abilities and magic won't wake…I just need to use my fist then."
The first wolf leaped up with his paws and fangs visible as though to let his delicious prey see. His jaw, however, was soon hacked away with a single punch from Alucard, making his body crash to the sand and causing dust to flare up.
'I don't know if I could die here or not, but from the way that strange man spoke, it seems so." Alucard took a peek at the man behind him.
The man sat like a monk on the sandy surface, eyes closed as if he were in deep meditation.
But Alucard knew it was not the case; there was a slight snore from the man, which only meant one thing.
He was asleep.
'This guy is not normal,'Alucard thought as he darted toward the pack of wolves. Using his knees, legs, and fists at times, the wolves would fly into the air bloodied.
The wolves were quite weak, but Alucard still got a few bites here and there. Overall, he was doing a pretty good job without any powers.
A bit later, all the wolves lay all over the place, groaning and writhing in pain as they howled, their voices louder than ever.
Alucard had a bad feeling; the way they were howling almost felt like they were calling someone.
"Hey, I think we should get out of here and do what you said."
"Oh, of course. I just spoke with the inside men... They should let us write now. Common, kid, move your lazy legs!" The old man bolted forward with a speed that wasn't supposed to be accomplished by someone as old as him.
Darting forward as well, Alucard sprinted across the sound mountain just a couple of meters away from the old man. While running, Alucard discovered something: apart from his red eyes, he was just like any normal human being; he didn't have any enhanced vampire abilities. He was just plain human!
Looking at the man ahead of him, Alucard was wondering why the man moved so fast. Did this place restrict only his powers?
Alucard panted with sweat all over his body. He looked at the old man; the latter looked fine.
"The key?" The man stretched his hands out to Alucard, expecting something.
"Which key? You didn't give me any key to keep for you."
"Of course, I knew that. I meant the keys you got in the manor."
Alucard didn't need to be a genius to figure out what the man was asking for. But the question was, how did he know?
Alucard rummaged around his several pockets before his hands lightly grazed the silky key, handing it to the man, who carefully inserted it into an opening that wasn't visible.
With a loud trembling, a door protrudes out. " lets go in.'
When Alucard was about to walk in, his eyes abruptly opened in the real world; he heard the scream of his maids.
Putting on some clothes, he swiftly went to the maid's room, and he froze at the sight.
