A bit later, Alucard arrived at the door.
He scanned around, looking for any signs of the armored being, but after glancing around, he discovered that the hallway had become so silent and hollow all of a sudden.
"This is strange; weren't their people here before?"
With seemingly hasty and dim footsteps, Alucard walked into the room, then, with his hands coated with wild lightning that seemed as though it would set anything on blaze, he scanned the room.
However, upon seeing everyone safe the way they were, he sighed in relief.
"Girls, we need to move from here."
Muna looked at Alucard, a little confused.
"Why? We just got here."
"Sigh! Unfortunately, a high member of the church is here." Alucard spoke.
"And he got a vampire detector... it wouldn't be too long again before he fished out." He stopped and looked at Ella.
"Is there a safe exit out of here?"
"No, no! Let's not be in a hurry here. The vampire detector isn't that accurate."
Siena furrowed her brow.
"What do you mean?" Just like everyone else out there, the maids had no idea about the vampire detector's accuracy being 50/50.
'The church really did a good job fooling everyone.' Ella thought, but then remembered that she, too, only found out because of her close friend, who had a high position in the church.
Sometime later, Alucard spoke:
"So we don't need to leave here, is that what you're saying?" Normally, Alucard would have faced this person head-on, but he was weak, and at his current level, Alucard doubted if he'd even survive a minute before being completely obliterated from this world. So the best course of action was to escape.
However, now that he knew how the vampire detector worked, he had an idea of how to fool it.
"What does this being look like?" Muna asked after a while.
"He was clad in armor from head to toe. He should be close to 6 Ft."
'Was he the person I met outside the manor?' Muna silently pondered.
"So what's the plan?"
"We trick him." Alucard grinned, and everyone stared at him.
....
Kai walked silently, with a keen sensitivity to the point where the slightest movement could be perceived.
"Hey, you. Yes, you. Can I see your lodging keys?" A childish voice that was a bit arrogant spoke.
Kai gazes down at the beautiful cat girl.
...it was Flora!
"Who are you?" Kai's voice sounded a bit hostile, which caused Flora to shudder a bit. However, she composed herself and looked at Kai with her signature arrogant look.
"I'm the second in charge here, so it's only natural for you to show me proof that you're paying to stay here.'
With gritted teeth, Kai pulled out a bag filled with Mana crystal and threw it at Floral. "Yeah, kid, keep the change, and now can you move out of my way?"
"Sorry, I asked for your lodging keys, not a bag of mana crystal. Do you take me for a beggar?"
If Flora's goal was to infuriate Kai, then it was certainly working; Kai stared at the cat girl, who was not more than 18 years old. If this was any place, Kai could have just forced through and not given a single damn to anyone.
"Kid, what do you want?" Kai asked with a sigh.
"Your lodging keys, then I'll step out of the way." Although the armored being was covered from head to toe, the flora was still trying to gauge the person's reaction.
If it were any other man, he'd have shown lustful looks, or at least his body language would have indicated lust in this situation.
'Is he even a human?' Flora thought. She was confident in her looks. She could seduce both men and women, so getting no reaction from this being was a little strange!
"Okay, what if I give you a thousand mana crystal?" Kai grinned inwardly; this was certainly a huge amount, and very few people could actually resist it.
That was what Kai thought until Flora spoke:
"No!"
"Okay kid, I'm done playing. Are you working for the vampires?" The atmosphere suddenly plummeted as a luminescent light barrier trapped her.
"I should have done this from the start instead of wasting my time."
Kai walked away, leaving Flora to desperately hit the barrier, but she would always bounce back and collide with rigid walls.
'Fuck! Hope you're all done with whatever you're planning,' she silently muttered.
....
Kai's footsteps were now faster. 'Why do I have the feeling that that cat girl was wasting my time for the vampires to escape? Kai thought, then grimaced: "Does she know that about vampires being in here?"
"She was working for them." With those thoughts, a giant sword made of light energy appeared in her grasp as she bolted forward, navigating through the long tavern hallway.
However, she couldn't help but frown as more and more vampires were just popping out on the vampire detector with each second. Kai was now starting to believe that this tavern secretly worked for the damned children of the devils behind the church.
The holy church had strictly warned everyone not to accommodate any vampires, as that would be seen as a huge felony.
And the punishment...
...was death.
Kai now moved at the speed of light, but the hallway was just too vast to traverse through at once. It was larger than it looked from the outside, and the flock of people suddenly increased in Kai's path.
'Are all these people working for the vampires as well?'Kai thought and stomped on the ground.
On the outside, a giant light dome covered the entire hotel, leaving no room for anyone to escape.
Even Tier 7 would find it difficult to break through this barrier.
"Let's see if you can escape this." Kai thought and smashed through the door with most vampires shown on the devices.
