As a in name disciple Sheng Tian did not have much to do. Any human would have to be 16, when their bodies are better matured and meridians had formed in order to cultivate.
For Sheng Tian, it would be an entire decade before he would be able to cultivate.
His servants on the other hand, were much closer to the age of 16, though are not quite there yet. During this decade, Sheng Tian would guide them in alchemy as well as enrich the ladies with knowledge.
He taught them about magical beasts, Formations, and about various herbs and materials. Whenever one is of age to cultivate, Sheng Tian would guide them in their cultivation using Wu Di's knowledge.
Now, a decade later, Sheng Tian grew up into a handsome young man who could charm both men and women.
Long black hair flowed from his head reaching his waist, with a pair of large shining eyes which glittered like stars, and smooth white skin.
An elder descended and cupped his hand towards Sheng Tian, "Young Master"
"Elder Bai," Sheng Tian said with a respectful bow.
Elder Bai nodded his head, "You turned 16 today right? That means that you are now an official disciple of the Sky Sword Sect. I'll bring you to meet the great elders now"
Whoosh!
They stepped onto the elder's cloud and flew towards the higher peaks. Below them, Sheng Tian could see various buildings arranged in huge rings around and up the mountain.
They landed on a huge square with other youths the same age as Sheng Tian in front of 5 elders, one of them being a great elder.
Seeing Sheng Tian arrive, the great elder cleared his throat, "Ahem!"
The youths went silent and focused on the elder, with few noticing Sheng Tian.
"I will now explain the rules and the purpose of this exam," announced the elder.
"This exam's purpose is to measure your talent in various aspects. The higher your score, the better treatment you will receive from the sect such as resources and facilities"
"If you score low however, that does not mean you will be kicked out. It simply means that your starting point will be lower and you will have to regularly attend lectures"
He paused and let everyone absorb the information before continuing, "There are 5 parts to this exam. They will test your talent, fate, mentality, combat skills, and finally comprehension. Are there any questions?"
Seeing that no one raised their hands to ask a question, the great elder waved his sleeve.
Weng!
A Formation beside him lit up and swept all the youths into it, teleporting everyone away.

When Sheng Tian opened his eyes, he found an old man sitting down with his legs crossed before him.
"Everything you see here is just an illusion," the old man said, "On this stone tablet is a cultivation technique. You have 10 minutes to circulate the technique in front of me"
Sheng Tian sat down immediately and circulated what little qi he had according to the technique. A vast amount of qi then gathered around Sheng Tian like moths to a flame.
A few seconds later, the old man spoke, interrupting Sheng Tian. When the young man opened his eyes, he found that the scene had changed and a small lake stretched out before him.
"Now you must step on the water and try to make it as far as possible" he said pointing to the lake, "This measures your potential"
Without hesitation, Sheng Tian took a step into the water. He found that he floated without a problem and took another, and then another.
While it felt like there was some resistance, Sheng Tian barely noticed it and kept on going without rest.
After a bit, he even started running across the water, reaching the 10 step mark, and then the 20 step mark. Within minutes, he reached the 40 step mark.
In a room in the spectator's area, all the great elders and even the sect master gathered around, watching slack jawed as Sheng Tian traversed the pond with ease while many others were struggling to get past 10 steps.
"What a monster," one commented.
"Do you think he will make it to the end?" another asked.
"I bet he will reach 80 steps"
The sect master stroked his chin, "It won't be surprising if he does make it to 100 steps"
Back inside the illusion, Sheng Tian easily made it to 70 steps and continued onwards without stopping. He didn't even flinch when he ran past 80 and 90 steps.
Without breaking a sweat, Sheng Tian took his 100th step and stepped back on land.
Rumble!
The ground suddenly opened up revealing a hidden staircase that descended into the earth.
Within the spectator's room, a few of the great elders expressed great surprise as they witnessed the staircase and Sheng Tian descending it.
"What is that?" asked one of the elders.
The sect master replied, "It is said that those who manage to break a past record will be rewarded. Sheng Tian managed to take 100 steps, but he did it with incredible speed. I'm afraid no one else would be able to best his performance"

Shang Tian found himself in a stone chamber where he could see various treasures protected by Formations.
"Choose 3," a voice resounded in his head.
He immediately started to look at the treasures. There were offensive treasures, defensive treasures, techniques, and pills or herbs that would be beneficial to his cultivation. He noticed that a few spots were empty, most likely taken by others before him.
What was most surprising however, was that many of the treasures were of the Origin Rank, which Sheng Tian had thought would only exist in the Earth Realm.
'I recommend you pick supplementary treasures,' Feng Wu Di abruptly said.
10 minutes later, Sheng Tian stood and spoke into the air, "Peak Origin grade Soul Nourishing Clear Jade, peak Origin grade spatial ring, and peak Origin grade Starry Night Cloak"
Weng!
The formations covering those items dissipated and floated towards him.
The Soul Nourishing Clear Jade is a rare soul treasure that would protect his mind and soul and continuously strengthen it, while the spatial ring is a more convenient and safer way for him to store his things.
Finally, the Starry Night Cloak is a defensive cloak that allows him to become invisible when worn. It can defend against attacks from Foundation realm experts and become stronger if Sheng Tian used qi with it.
Sheng Tian didn't know how there are Origin treasures in the mortal realm but he couldn't care less. After all, they were giving him more treasures and he wouldn't reject it.
He stepped out and was handed a gold token by the old man who explained it is for those who achieved a top score, before stepping into another portal for his next test.
