After Sheng Tian left the domain of the sect, he boarded a carriage that would go through several cities before bringing him near Dark Lightning Valley. The journey would take around a week and Sheng Tian sought to take his time in each city and explore. The sect leader had linked Sheng Tian to a life tablet so he was sure he could spend as much time as possible as long as he was alive.
A day went by without much happening and Sheng Tian saw a large looming city ahead. Its name is Rising Sun City because the sun would appear to "rise" during the morning if one were to stand at the main entryway.
The carriage entered the city and Sheng Tian told the middle-aged man driving the carriage to wait for a few days before leaving to explore the city.
He wandered the city for a few minutes before arriving at a restaurant called Red Lotus Restaurant. Walking in, he was greeted by a servant dressed in red "hello esteemed guest, how may I help you?"
The youth immediately recognized Sheng Tian's robe to belong to a sect and could not sense his cultivation base thus, he knew that the young man in front of him was to be treated with utmost respect.
"Table for one"
He was escorted to a lone table on the second floor next to a window and handed a menu. He was surprised to see that the cheapest dish was still several gold coins and the most expensive was a few low quality low grade spirit stones. These dishes are something normal people cannot even see in their entire life.
He ordered 3 of the most expensive dishes that cost him 13 spirit stones. 10 minutes later, servants brought his food to his table. The smell had attracted several gazes as people wondered who Sheng Tian is to be able to spend spirit stones so lavishly.
Raising his chopsticks, Sheng Tian tasted the dishes and was surprised to feel his cultivation rise, albeit slightly. What is the background of this restaurant to be able to make dishes with magical beast meat?
Not dwelling on this thought, Sheng Tian quickly finished his meal and prepared to leave.
Before he managed to take a step outside though, he was stopped by a servant who came from the 3rd floor "our manager wishes to see you"
He hesitated and then nodded. He followed the young woman into a lounge at the top where he saw a woman who looked to be in her 20s sitting on a couch.
"I wasn't prepared to find an inner disciple of the Sky Sword Sect here. Forgive me for my lack of hospitality"
Her voice sounded clear and mellow and was extremely pleasant to listen to, and her figure was extremely seductive. She had curves in all the right places and long legs stretched out and crossed. Sheng Tian cupped his hands and said "that won't be a problem. It is my honor to be here"
He sat down on the luxurious couch across from the woman and introduced himself "my name is Sheng Tian and I accepted a mission for the sect. I will be in this city for a few days before leaving"
The woman nodded "it is normal for disciples to leave their sect to train. In fact, I am too"
Seeing his confusion she explained "I am Feng Ying, an inner disciple of the Fiery Lotus Sect. I am currently put in charge of the businesses in this city"
"Businesses?"
Feng Ying nodded "our sect is number 1 when it comes to making money and alchemy. This city has 2 main businesses, this restaurant and an auction house several blocks away. I wanted to invite you to take a look at the auction happening in 2 days"
She pulled out a purple gold card from her bosom and handed it over to Sheng Tian who pretended to not see how she pulled out the card.
"This is our highest level VIP invitation card. Please take it as a form of goodwill"
He took the card and flipped it over. A lotus symbol was inscribed on the back.
He put the card in his spatial ring "I was wondering if I could sell some things. If I can then I want to borrow an alchemy room for a bit"
She smiled and called out for a servant "Ling'er, bring this esteemed guest to our best room"
He was led to a room lined with formations purposed for blocking sound and fortifying the walls. He asked Ling'er to leave the room so he could concentrate and took out a grade 3 alchemy cauldron. He first meditated to clear his head and then portioned several spirit herbs.
A 3 colored flame bloomed in his hand and he used it to heat up the cauldron. Once it was hot enough he threw in 3 of the same batch of spirit herbs at once. With his exquisite control over the flame and his consciousness, Sheng Tian was able to do what no other alchemist in the lower realms dared to do. He repeated this process 2 more times and left the room to meet Feng Ying.
When he entered, he saw that she was ready with 2 appraisers. Not wasting any words, Sheng Tian placed 3 different bottles on the table and sat.
They exchanged greetings as Feng Ying introduced them. "They are the Gu brothers and are both rank 4 appraisers. I trust that they would provide you with the most satisfying price for your pills"
One picked up the first bottle and uncorked it. The medical scent and the amount of pill lines on the pill surprised all of them. There was even a faint pill halo!
Both brothers blushed in shame "we're sorry young master but. . . we don't know what kind of pill this is except that it is extremely potent"
Sheng Tian didn't shame them and merely smiled. He took out a medallion that they all recognized to be the Sky Sword Sect's highest order medallion.
"I can guarantee that all the words I say will be true and that the reputation of my sect will be at stake"
With these words they breathed a sigh of relief. "Can young master enlighten us about the usage of these pills?"
Sheng Tian gestured to the first bottle containing 3 pills "these are called Meridian Tempering Pills, a grade 5 pill. It tempers one's meridians and enlarges them, and can even heal a cripple's meridians. I'm sure seniors are aware of the usefulness of such a pill, not to mention the 7 pill lines on each as well as the slight pill halos. The medical efficiency of this pill should be around 135 percent"
Not minding their greatly flabbergasted face, he continued, "this bottle containing 5 pills is called Spirit Blood Pill, also a grade 5 pill with 7 pill lines and a faint pill halo. As for its effects. . ."
He took out a pill from his spatial ring that was almost identical to the ones on the table though it had no pill lines nor halo. With quick lightning fast speed, he chopped off the arm of the brother on the right.
