Seeing as he had nothing to do, Sheng Tian closed his eyes once more to cultivate. A whirlpool formed again and sucked the qi in the air like a black hole. The Xu servants in a different room noticed the commotion and didn't interfere.
The qi gathering realm required one to gather qi into qi balls. The second realm, the qi condensing realm, required one to condense those qi balls together as much as possible. Using his consciousness and the qi in the air, Sheng Tian condensed 10 qi balls together and repeated the process until he had 13 condensed qi balls in his dantian and core.
With little effort, he forced the 13 qi balls together into one 3 meters in diameter in both his dantian and core. Once he did that he started nourishing the newly condensed qi balls with more qi until it filled his entire dantian and core which was 6 meters in diameter and then compressing it down as much as possible.
He managed to compress them to 2 meters in diameter and then repeated this process 12 more times.
Once he compressed them 13 times the qi became a solid ball and he then used his consciousness to split both masses of qi in 2 and churn them in opposite directions like a grindstone, signifying that he stepped into the qi refining realm.
In the qi refining realm, one has to force out the impurities in their qi as much as possible before breaking through to the bone tempering realm.
the slightly murky solid qi grinded against each other and forced out impurities, slowly becoming clearer and clearer. At the same time, a whirlpool of qi formed around the qi grindstones and automatically condensed into more solid qi.
It was a breathtaking sight, similar to staring at a galaxy. The gaseous qi turned into a liquid in the whirlpool, and the whirlpool condensed it into a solid at its center. Hours went by, and the crystal clear ball of qi enlarged until it took up the entirety of the dantian and core.
A small explosion was heard as Sheng Tian broke through into the bone tempering realm. He opened his eyes and examined himself.
All 6 of his cultivations had reached the first level of the fourth realm as he had wanted to keep everything even. His dantian and core seemed to supply him with a nigh endless amount of pure qi that would replenish itself constantly. His soul and physical body has become even tougher and is practically indestructible compared to cultivators of the same realm.
Furthermore, a bloodline technique appeared in his head. According to Wu Di's knowledge, a bloodline technique appears in beasts with extremely pure bloodlines once they reach a certain realm.
The technique he obtained is called the beast transforming technique, a common technique used by half-bloods to temporarily transform into their beast form.
There are 3 levels and the final level allows one to transform completely for a certain amount of time.
Sheng Tian tried the technique and scales, fangs, horns, and claws appeared. He estimated that he could keep it active for an 10 minutes at most and would require level 2 mastery to gain wings.
How great would it have been for him to have wings in battle. Alas, he needed to strengthen himself even more if he wanted wings.
He relaxed himself and attempted to cultivate again. Due to the 13 Heaven Chaos Scripture, his foundations are incomparably stable akin to a mountain so he doesn't need to wait before breaking through as of right now.
In the bone tempering realm, one needs to decide how many bones they wish to temper with qi. The more bones means one would be stronger but it also means that one would require more qi.
Of course Sheng Tian didn't hesitate to temper all his bones using his huge supply of pure qi. A part of the crystal ball melted into a clear liquid and flowed into every bone in his body. Impurities were forced out of the bones and even his teeth are being tempered to a great degree.
If one were to examine his bones with their consciousness, then they would see that every one of his bones became crystal clear similar to his qi. Sheng Tian decided not to temper his teeth too much as he would look ridiculous with transparent teeth.
Sheng Tian managed to break through into the flesh tempering realm a few hours later.
Sitting up and stretching his limbs, Sheng Tian left his room and instructed his servants to keep the manor tidy and left with elder Bai. They arrived at the Inner Disciple Hall where one would apply for the inner disciple position.
When they went in, the elder in charge didn't bother making Sheng Tian take an exam and simply measured his cultivation base before giving him a new badge that identified him as a Sky Ranked Inner Disciple.
"I wish to take a look at the missions" Sheng Tian said
Elder Bai then brought him to the Inner Mission Hall where Sheng Tian browsed through some of the missions. He wanted to go outside to experience a wider world as well as seeing how much his strength has grown.
He settled on a mission that required him to travel quite far away and bring back the corpses of at least 50 rank 5 Lighting Panthers. He was handed a spatial pouch with a 100 by 100 by 100 cubic meter space which he is required to hand back to the sect once he completes the mission.
A few of the great elders had come to advise against his decision but Sheng Tian firmly rejected them and said "there's no need for you all to worry nor do you have to send a protector to watch over me. I have several life saving treasures and a few rank 5 beasts would not trouble me at all"
He knew that if he stayed in the sect he would be safe but he also would not grow as fast as he would like. After trading a few contribution points for mortal currency as well as some low ranked spirit stones which he would use as cultivator currency, Sheng Tian left the sect for the first time in a decade.
