Chapter 1 - I See What I Am Told to See

The year was 2077, everyone had equal opportunities, rights to education and caste systems did not exist under the guidance of Stalin and his cronies. The world was finally unified, and hunger, poverty and healthcare were solved. Everyone under the new laws was entitled to have a home, be cured regardless of their financial status and all people received a monthly stipend of $3000, enough for their basic needs. Following the defeat of Ukraine in the Ukrainian conflict in 2025, Stalin begun his conquest of the world along with China, North Korea, and Iran. The Final War as people called it started in 2050 and ended in 2075 with the battles ending in the catastrophic defeat of NATO with the collapse of NATO during the battle of the pacific, a battle that involved dozens of carrier groups from NATO, the Soviet Union, and the Chinese along with their allies and lasted for 7 years.

The battle cost the NATO 50 million sailors and marines while the Soviets and the Chinese suffered sixty-eight million casualties. With the defeat of NATO, the remnants of NATO quickly fled the battle, however only the fifth army, task force fifty-seven, sixth fleet, third air brigade, and the 98th JDSF marines managed to escape. However, there were many conspiracies that NATO had found a new ally, and that the rout was merely a strategic retreat to consolidate and rebuild their forces. Following their defeat, the Chinese and Soviets conquered over 70% of the world and established communism and socialism. These changes were all because of the great and benevolent Stalin as the Unified Soviet News Network says, "Because of Stalin, the people and the motherland have been revived, hail Stalin" (Vladimir Putin).

In the thriving post-war city of Sukhoi which was once Tokyo, the lights and towers shined as brightly as they once did, but the city gave off an eerie depressing atmosphere despite it being like what it once was. Where there was once a Japanese and American flag hung a red Soviet flag, sending a sense of solemnity and melancholy to people who remember how the city used to be.

Even though the streets were the same, the depressing atmosphere hung over everyone as though they were all mourning. Trudging through the thick white pure snow of the winter, Ryan, who was wrapped in a thick parka merrily walked home while observing the never sleeping city of Sukhoi. The passing convoy of Russian airborne troops and tanks splashed muddy water into the pure snow, turning it black. As Ryan hurried towards his apartment in Akihabara, his hand under his thick coat, gripping his Sig Sauer P226 with a death grip as if he were going to lose it. Somewhere in the city, sirens rang out and the sound of gunfire and explosions shattered the silent, calm night.
