Chereads / The Book Of Lugar / Chapter 11 - Mafia

Chapter 11 - Mafia

Big D was done with what he considered to be duplicitous behavior and a meeting was called at one of their penthouse offices.

" Sitting at my table are my brothers and sisters. Right? Sitting at this table, at least that is what I thought. You see we have a problem; somebody messed up! An infiltrator is among us. Do any one of my brothers and sisters know about that? He was in the club and somehow / someway he was on my property. Speak up! One of you ungrateful bastards knows what I am talking about. I've spent too much time investing in you, making you rich! In order for us all to eat and live comfortably but now, I'm uncomfortable."

John's chair was pulled out from the table and Big D's crocodile loafers were pressing on his thigh as he looked around the room at the terrified faces of his crew. John was wailing and couldn't help but try to remove the oppressive foot.

" Touch my leg again, touch my leg one more time." - Big D dared him to repeat his courageous act, at the same time he rested his crossed arms on his leg, causing it to further penetrate deep into John's groin before continuing his verbal onslaught.

" You see John lost focus, yeah, John started to think that my money was his money. Your money!" - Big D said while pointing at every one in the room before removing John's silk and Polkadot pocket square and throwing it into the fireplace. Afterwards, he turned on the flat screen that had a picture of Lugar on it.

As the fire erupted John moaned ," Take it easy, Nina brought him to my attention." - He was referring to the young bartender from Renekies.

"Nina? Nina, how much money you bring in a week off your hoes?" - Big D asked a question that was understood not to be answered because he still had his attention on John, he continued.

" Nah, nah, I got the number. Fifty thousand dollars a week, off hoes. That's not to mention the profit from the bar front. You know why, because she understands the business and the sacrifice it takes. You messed up, you lack the responsibility to run this establishment." - Admonishing John before deciding to lift his foot and take his seat at the head of the table.

John wiped his mouth and rubbed his hands before choosing to speak up, " If you was taking care of your side of things instead of running around.."

" If I was what, shut up!" - Big D snarled before placing his gun on the table.

"Big D." - Nina said fearing for their lives.

Big D took a deep breath and lowered his eyes while waving his hand. - " Now, leave me."

Nina and John found themselves in her Mercedes heading to Renekies.

" You should have shot him when you had the chance." - John mentioned as he looked out the window.

" He comes to the bar all the time, I didn't think anything of it. " - She said apologetically.

" Is he a cop, what does he want with Big D?"- John was trying to put it all together.

" I don't know, Lugar is a drunk, I invited him that night as a thank you for saving me from the guys at the bar." - She said.

" And what, you sleeping with Big D?" - John was growing jealous.

" We are all family, relax, we will figure this out." - Nina did not acknowledge the question.

"I am going to find him and I am going to kill him." - John said emotionally.

She had let Lugar into their world, after allowing him to sit under her nose all that time. They had denied the murder that he witnessed at the club that night but they did not realize that he was spiritually awake and had every intention of destroying Big D. It started to rain while they sat at a light. The red beams from the back of the car in front of them projecting on his face as Nina looked at him.

Meanwhile, Julie and Lugar grew close over the course of discovering the secrets of Big D and what happened to her close friends. They were on a jog on the trails behind his home. Their hoodies spotted with the drops of rain causing them to stop under a tree; sharing a laugh. Lugar unzipped his hoodie exposing his chest and defined arms, in order to hold it over her head. She looked down as he stepped closer to her before overcoming her shyness and igniting their desires by a locking of lips.

Soggy footprints and damped clothes on the floor of his cabin led to the bedroom. Where they discovered each other intimately. His member was just as big as her dreams of it and she was tight and in shape. They were perfectly attuned and let out their frustrations and built up tensions under the thickness of the covers.

The next morning she woke up to the whistling of a coffee pot and an empty bed. Julie rolled over and took off her clothes, waiting for him to return. She was disappointed when he did not show up, so she went looking for him. Lugar was not in the home but a noise was heard coming from outside heading towards the cabin.

Two armed men were spotted through the window approaching fast. Julie jumped back and tripped up the stairs to grab the gun out of a hidden location Lugar had previously showed her. The door opened and the men entered, pausing her in her attempt of self defense. Instead she squeezed backwards into the hallway closet, aiming the weapon at the closed door.

First, a body dropped to the floor; leaving a shadow right at the base of the closet. Then a struggle full of thumping was heard before a shot rang. Julie attempted to open the door but the heavy man laid in its way preventing her from forcing it open and left her waiting aghast for Lugar to finally open the door.

"You are hurt!" - She shouted at the sight of him. A wound had perforated his abdomen.

" We have to go." - He said calmly while reaching into the closet to grab a prepacked book bag.

She panicked in the passenger seat of the car with no time to reflect on the attack because of the concern of the bullet entry wound on Lugar. Which was healing on its own; the skin formatting a new. That drew her over the edge; making her attempt suicide ( throwing herself out the car) on the highway. Lugar reached and clinched on to her shirt as the vehicle spun out of control.

" Are you crazy!" - He yelled at her after masterfully parking the car.

Mental fortitude was lost, " What's happening?" - she asked.

"We will talk but right now we have to leave." - Lugar said, picking her up by her shoulders.

" Where are you taking me?" - Julie cried, turning her head back and forth.

" Julie, please get in the car." - He pleaded.

They pulled up to a complex in Romeoville, Illinois. Lugar needed access to someone he could trust. They were being sought after and Julie needed a new identity: passports, social security card and to change her name. Upon arrival she saw a man standing on the balcony of the apartment.

"My brother." - Lugar said while looking up at his best friend.

" My brother." - It was Tyrone.
