The scene lasted for a moment and the both of them stared into each other's eyes. Hannah desperately wanted to ask her sister a question. 'What if after this, I still die? What will you do, Isabella?' but she couldn't let those words out. It would kill her sister for sure so she just stayed quiet and let them witness their presence.
"It's going to be okay, it's not your fault, believe me," Isabella sniffled her tears and rubbed her nose with the back of her hand as she explained to her sister the fact of the situation.
"I don't know what to say, you did that...you...it makes me feel...I don't know, it makes me guilty to know that I made you go out there and let a man you don't know have sex with you, I made you a prostitute," Hannah's eyes began to look weak, she couldn't cry anymore.
Isabella watched her sister, thinking of a way to tell her that she had no regrets but how was she going to say that to her sister when she was already blaming herself?
And now Hannah suddenly found it difficult to breathe, she felt that discomfort again and that sensation always made her wish she should just die. It wasn't painful, it was just too discomforting and then her throat began to get filled with liquid coming from inside her body.
"What's wrong?" Isabella was quick to notice the change in her sister's attitude. With that, she ran out to call the doctor only to come back to see blood on her uniform.
She had vomited blood again and the situation brought nothing but fear to Isabella's heart. Why did her sister have to suffer this way?
Just by looking at her, she felt a bit of what her sister was going through and then she sighed.
Later that day, Isabella found her way home, she didn't even think of getting chicken or any food, she just settled on her mat in her room and began to cry. Her sister was going through a lot.
The weak expression on her face earlier and the way she was breathing plus how she fell asleep, smiling at her made her realize that the sickness had really eaten her sister up but thank goodness she was able to raise the money, her sister's surgery was in a week and she'd right by her side when she gets treated, she'd also pray hard to have her sister back to her.
Mia had ignored Gabe's presence the whole day but the moment school closed for the day, she walked home with her friend only for Gabe to approach her by the tree far from the school.
He was standing by his car and Mia noticed he was the one but decided to ignore him even though her friend had been whispering to her about the handsome standing before them.
After walking past him, she heard her name and weirdly halted. Mia waited for him to reach her spot and when he did. She was shocked to see a bouquet in his hand.
"You are still upset with me?" He asked as he stuck the bouquet in her hand.
He wasn't a bit close to her expectation, she had expected him to come to make fun of her but he was apologizing?
"I know, it's weird but you know how much I feel for you and I know you are still upset so Mia take this, it's my gift of apology. Mia, please..." He felt like throwing up as he apologized to her but it was just a game.
"Why are you... nevermind. Will you stop announcing that I'm your girlfriend?"
"I will...if you help me out with some things."
Oh no, not the condition. It shouldn't be about her joining him in bed. She wasn't in for it but before jumping to a conclusion she asked. "What's that?"
"Be my tutor," he surprised her.
"Huh?" As Gabe has expected, she was confused so he brightened his fake smile.
Mia wouldn't refuse that. She believed he was truly sorry so she accepted it and got a kiss on her knuckles. However, she complained about it so he apologized and let her go. They'd decided to determine when she'll start tutoring him. Now he felt he had accomplished something and he needed to celebrate it so he invited his friends to his house to play a game.
Isabella wasn't just awakened by her sister but her phone beeping caused her to wake up. She had fallen asleep while thinking about her sister.
She had thought that getting the money she needed will make her happy and free but it didn't change anything. She was still depressed and she believed that until her sister was fine she wouldn't find happiness.
When Isabella checked her phone, she found that the work she applied for had been accepted. She had been accepted as a nanny and would be resuming work the next day.
The joy didn't come because the pay wasn't as much as the money she had in her account. She wanted to think that she didn't need the job but then she had to work for survival. The money she had would soon wave off and by that time fate might want to punish her like it always does.
The next day, she resumed work to find out that the child she'd be a nanny to was a six-year-old boy. The first day with him wasn't normal.
Isabella literally used the day to get the child to know her, the next day was getting the child used to her and in three days, the little boy knew her as his nanny as he didn't have a mother, just his father.
On a Tuesday, Isabella knew she had spent too much time in the house of her boss but she just couldn't leave the little boy in the house so she stayed overtime.
Eventually, her boss arrived. The little boy was asleep already so she just carried the little boy to his bed. Isabella had also been visiting her sister and had shared the news of her getting a job.
And now she was exhausted, she just turned away from the little boy's bed aiming to head home only for her to be approached by her boss.
