Isabella could still hear her sister's heartbeat but the moment she heard nothing from her after sharing a warm affection with her, she immediately pushed back and began to quake as her thought had run wild.
She didn't want to jump to conclusions, so she ran out to the doctor to come to check on her sister.
The fear that ate her up was massive that she began to shake and breathe heavily as she followed the doctor to her sister's room.
Mia was still seated on the chair close to her sister's bed, she was stroking her hand.
The doctor with a stern face check on Hannah only to tell her sisters that she was reacting to the dose.
She needed to rest because the surgery was heavy.
After his explanation, Isabella felt relieved but still wasn't relaxed, she stared at her sister's body on the bed and grimaced her face.
Slowly, she walked to her sister's bed and kissed her forehead, "I'll stay here for the night," her voice was heard by Mia.
Mia agreed and went to get what they'd eat as they hadn't tasted food since morning.
The next day arrived, and Isabella and her sister went back home after eating with Hannah. She opened her eyes again and smiled at them, assuring them that she was alive and still with them. So they kissed her before leaving.
Isabella took care of herself and dressed up for her visit to the lady who dropped by the other day.
When she was done, she informed Mia of her departure and walked to the bus station.
Mia on the other hand had received calls and text messages from Gabe. Why was he acting so obsessed? Mia thought as she stared at the messages he sent to her.
It took two hours and a few minutes for Isabella to get to the estate. The cab she eventually took, drove her down the estate and parked right in front of a massive mansion.
After paying, Isabella glued her gaze to the house, it was beautiful and it felt untrue to her, she just used her eyes to adore the building before searching for the door.
She saw a doorbell and click a button. After her action, she looked around waiting for a response but after her patience had expired, she lifted her hand to click on the button again but she didn't succeed in doing that because the door by her left went open when she attempted to ring the bell again.
When Isabella heard the noises, she turned about to see the lady in her home attire. Seemed she just came out of bed. "Ah," Isabella snapped out. "Good morning ma'am," she silently greeted.
"I knew you'd come, come in dear," the lady push the door open for Isabella to come in.
This was now the time Isabella viewed the magic. The first thing she admired was the cleanliness of the house. She looked around to see four cars. And they weren't cheap, even the cars were squishy clean.
Miranda knew the girl must be admiring her house and also was amazed by the appearance so she just took her to the entrance.
Isabella made her scrutinization simple so as not to be so obvious. When she saw that the woman was already ahead of her while she adore the place, she immediately saved that moment for another time and followed the woman to the door.
"This is my home, Isabella," with her hands up, she gestured while Isabella looked around with widened eyes. The house sparkling reflected in her eyes, expressing how amazed she was.
The place appeared to be magical in her eyes as the chandelier alone looked as if it was made of diamond.
Isabella took her time to admire the place before settling her eyes on the couches. The smile that appeared on her face was unexpected but when she realized she was smiling, she widened her lips and went forward to sit on the couch by the side of the couch the lady was sitting on.
"Ma'am," she uttered when she settled down. It sounded more like a go-ahead.
"I can see you like the house," Miranda uttered.
Isabella chuckled at first. The cause of her happiness wasn't just the beautification of the house. It was also about her sister's life. Her sister being alive had made her happy since yesterday and now knowing she could work in such a big house, her happiness coupled.
"Yes, I do ma'am," her statement was uttered.
Miranda then called the attention of a man who appeared in less than a minute. She instructed him to bring something refreshing for her guest.
Isabella only gestured with a smile.
"That's my assistant. He helps me and not my son," she stated.
"Ohh, yeah," Isabella answered.
"I'm planning to move out as it's boring staying with a man who does nothing but play games. However, he has some dilemmas that caused him to be such an addict," Miranda explained. "I've not been able to help him with any of his problems and now I'm giving up and letting you take care of him."
After her explanation, she saw the hesitation in the girl's eyes. "My son isn't a monster, he just needs someone to support him. So I'm begging you to take the job. And like I told you, the pay is extremely good."
"I know about the pay but, what if he doesn't like me and..."
"He won't, trust me. The worse he can do is ignore you and you are too beautiful to be ignored."
"Ma'am," Isabella suddenly felt this strange feeling surging up inside her.
"I'm serious, trust me, he can't ignore a damsel like you," Miranda studied Isabella's reaction and saw how shy she was. She definitely won't be a burden to her son. She was the perfect one for her son.
"So what do you say?" Miranda asked after a moment of silence and at that moment, the man she called earlier had brought a drink Isabella didn't notice.
"Uh? I'll work for you but..."
"You are working for him not me," Miranda corrected. "He'd pay you because I say so and he won't trouble you because I say so."
"Oh," Isabella nodded. "But may I know more about him? Like the things he likes and dislikes so I can know my limits?"
To Miranda, it was a smart question but instead of telling her the truth. Miranda mixed her son's dislikes with his likes as she knew what she was doing.
