The lady who bared the name Miranda stared at the address written on the piece of paper given to her by Micheal's father. She could control her son to get married but how sure was she that the marriage would blossom fruitfully like she imagined it to be?
So going with her plan would show her whether she should go with her main plan or discard it and accept the fact that her son wasn't ready to have a woman in his life.
Madam Miranda settled in her car for two hours searching for the house written on the piece of paper she handed to her driver.
The man had been driving through the road and entering different streets to find the house they were searching for. The woman named Isabella was the target and Miranda was so interested in her for her son.
Eventually, after another hour, they found the street to her house only to find out that her house was found deep down inside the street.
The house was the only thing their parents left for them after leaving them to survive on their own.
However, the land happened to be the cheapest in the street because it was far away from the street itself and because it was affordable, they bought it.
"You sure this is where she lives?" Miranda asked the driver. Sincerely to herself, the view of the area exasperated her and now that she was climbing out of her car. The aura of the place explained nothing but poverty.
This caused her to grow pity for the kindhearted girl. What was it like to live in a place like this? The lady wondered.
She had once been poor when her husband left her but not this extremely poor, she was able to get a better apartment. Perhaps it was because she had her degrees and completed her education.
Walking carefully through the muddy ground, she perceived something so irritating thus causing her to feel this force inside her belly up to her lungs but she didn't throw up.
The woman just continued her journey through the place and finally landed on a doormat where she could settle her feet on. It felt as if insects were roaming about on her skin but still the woman wasn't giving up on having Isabella as her daughter.
"Anyone home!" She cried out. "Anyone! Isabella!" She continued when she heard nothing. The woman was avoiding knocking on the door but when she heard nothing and felt no response, she lifted her hand to knock only for the door to hold her aback.
It suddenly went opened, causing her to push back as she was shocked.
With the door pushed open, Miranda waited for the person to show herself. She expected to see Isabella but it turned out to be a girl in a school uniform.
"Hello," Miranda was confused.
Mia was surprised to see a rich lady at their doorstep so she attended to her nicely. Even if she wasn't rich, Mia would still be nice but the level of kindness she showed was different because she felt a helper had found them at last.
Eventually, the lady explained that she was there for her sister, Isabella.
"Oh, she's around... please do come in," Mia now realized that she should have let the lady in before questioning her. She left the entrance and extended the door so the lady walked in gracefully.
Isabella was wondering who was at the door for Mia to take so long. When she sighted her sister return home, she gathered her into her hands tightly and questioned her about what happened in the night with her friend.
Her sister had explained that she felt comfortable on a good bed for the first time. Mia couldn't disclose to her sister that she got kissed by that annoying friend of hers, more like an acquaintance.
Isabella was wondering who was talking to her sister so she walked in the direction of the door only to meet the woman she met on the day she received money from the man that took her flower.
"Ma'am," she still viewed her as a mother as she did the day she met her. "What brings you here?"
Isabella now began to wonder how she found her house. And now she was embarrassed in front of the woman because her house wasn't presentable. "I'm really sorry ma'am," she uttered when the lady looked for a place to settle down but only the dining table was available.
"Oh, no need, I just came to hire you for my son," the lady went straight to the point. She wasn't being proud, she was just irritated by the environment and felt sorry for Isabella for being so comfortable in a place like this.
"Your son?" Isabella was surprised.
"Yes, he lives alone but he does nothing but play games and work, I'm the one to always do every house chore and I'm tired of that but then I saw you and would like you to be my son's maid," the explanation was smooth.
However, silence followed, causing the woman to wonder why. And the expression on Isabella's face was numb so she spoke. "Not really a maid, more like his caregiver and trust me the pay is fine."
"The pay?" Isabella spoke when she mentioned money.
"Yes, you can come to my house tomorrow to discuss the payment if you are interested," the woman's face lit up.
"Why me?" Isabella found it strange for the lady to come all the way from her comfort zone to her dirty house.
"Because I've seen how kind you are and this assures me that you'll take good care of my son."
"Ma'am," Isabella hesitated. "What if..." The woman hushed her before she could proceed.
"Take this and come when you are ready, don't miss the opportunity," the lady handed her her business card.
"Ma'am," Isabella uttered again.
"Please come, I'll be expecting. I'll even be glad if you could drop by tomorrow."
"Ah, no... I'll visit when I'm ready, thank you ma'am... for trusting and reaching out to me," Isabella suddenly felt as if she didn't deserve the mercy she was receiving. Did she really have a good heart?
She couldn't visit the lady because tomorrow is her sister's surgery and she needed to be there. After the agreement, she escorted the woman to her car.
