Chapter 10: Weapons Knowledge!
Aakesh decided to return to the town since there was nothing left for him to do there. He already had a goal to unlock the next page in the diary.
Time flew by, and Aakesh returned to the town, completely different from when he had left.
The adventurers had to manually learn weapon knowledge in Myth Online. The knowledge they had, in reality, would also help the adventurers, but unfortunately for Aakesh, he didn't have any such knowledge.
Aakesh had ten copper coins in his pocket since it was the starting fund for adventurers.
In Panagea, one hundred copper coins were equal to one bronze coin; one hundred bronze coins were comparable to one silver coin; one hundred silver coins were equivalent to one gold coin.
The adventurers could also sell game currency to get real-world money. Since the world's most popular currency was the USD, one gold coin was equivalent to one thousand USD.
The exchange system only worked from games. The adventurer couldn't use their real-world wealth to gain an advantage in the game unless they found some adventurers wishing to trade with them instead of the game administrators.
There was also another currency in the game titled 'Soul stones'. These were currently inaccessible to the adventurers, as even the lowest level of Soul stones was equal to ten thousand gold coins.
Many adventurers knew about this, so they had begun to search for one right from the beginning. If they even got one, they could exchange that for ten million USD.
No matter what part of the real world, ten million USD was enough for a family to live luxuriously and comfortably.
As Aakesh saw ten copper coins, the thought of earning money appeared in his mind.
The weapon's knowledge wasn't free since the teacher charged money for it.
Aakesh first went to the training arena, located at the center of the city.
It was a two-story building spanning a width of several hundred meters. It was in the shape of a circular battle arena.
It was the most popular building in the town since many adventurers needed to gain some weapon knowledge before embarking on hunting and quests.
The Wolf Town had a story behind it, as a den of silver wolves was not very far from the city.
Every year, there would be a wave of silver wolves attacking the city. To fend off the wolves, the training arena in the town was the most significant building.
It taught knowledge of three types of weapons swords, bows and arrows, and spears.
The highest level of knowledge that could be earned from the training arena in Wolf Town was intermediate.
The knowledge in Panagea was divided into several levels, starting with beginner, intermediate, advanced, and so forth.
Intermediate knowledge wasn't low-level in Panagea, as the majority of the beings around Level 100 had such insights into weapons.
The game website didn't have much information about the world inside the game, so Aakesh's knowledge was slightly better than others, thanks to the diary.
Aakesh first went to the swords section.
"Hello, I want to see the price for different sword arts," Aakesh respectfully asked after his turn arrived.
The receptionist took a glance at the newcomer. Her eyes stopped at the ring in Aakesh's hands for a moment, but soon she returned to normal.
The next moment, a blue screen containing the details of the beginner's sword arts with their teaching prices appeared in front of Aakesh.
{1. Quick Sword: fifty copper coins,
2. Hard Sword: forty copper coins,
Agile Sword: Forty-five copper coins….,}
The screen didn't explain some details about the type of art, only its name and the costs associated with it.
Since even the cheapest item on the screen was twenty-five copper coins, it was out of range for Aakesh.
Aakesh decided to come back once he had enough coins with him.
As for what sword arts he had chosen for himself, it was the 'Master of all Sword arts.
As for why he chose it, he had two reasons. First, it was the most expensive of the lot; it cost seventy-five copper coins. Second, a sword was added to the cost, so he would not only learn the knowledge but also get the sword.
Aakesh was a beginner in the game world, so he needed to experiment with things. Fourteen months from now, the earth would merge into Panagea.
Aakesh didn't believe that this time was enough to become a powerhouse strong enough to challenge the Kingdoms in Panagea, as the diary had stated. There were only two kinds of people, those who survived due to their strength, and those who became slaves or died. There was no mention of victors in the diary.
The Master of all Sword Arts was his first experiment in this world. Whether he would succeed was best left up to the future. Aakesh only needed to focus on his hard work and not the results. For now, he was starting with a blank sheet of paper. It was up to him and the diary as to how he would fill the paper.
***
A/N: Aakesh wouldn't be a swordsman. I already have a unique weapon planned for him. It is only in the earlier stages to help him gain some XP.
This game world will be different from other game worlds. In contrast to other situations where it takes months or years for the world to take notice, it would demonstrate its superiority right from the start. Please don't forget to share your suggestions and criticisms.
Many readers like being silent, but it doesn't help a new book. When the book is new, it is the best time to change some storylines for improvement. It isn't possible when the book becomes old.
