Chapter 11: Catch Wolf Cubs!

After leaving the training arena, Aakesh proceeded toward the town hall.

It only took him a few minutes to reach since the town hall was only around a hundred meters away from the training arena on the other side of the street.

It took him a long time, considering the distance but since Aakesh was experiencing the stalls, the conversations, and the people walking around, Aakesh didn't feel it to be a loss.

The town hall was the place where the adventurers could get quests for them to gain XP or other rewards.

A long queue welcomed Aakesh when he entered the building since he wasn't the only adventurer. Everyone needed to do quests.

Aakesh joined the queue for the hunting quests and began waiting for his turn.

Since there weren't many people that dared to attempt a hunting quest without weapon knowledge or weapons, it didn't take long for Aakesh's turn to arrive. The only reason he even had to wait this long was because of NPCs since they also needed to complete quests for leveling up. The only difference was that once NPCs died, they would be permanently dead except for a few rare cases of a revival item in this magical world of Panagea.

Almost everyone in the hunting queue had a weapon, so when the receptionist saw Aakesh who had no weapon, she kindly advised him about the dangers of the quest.

After conversing with the two receptionists, Aakesh sensed that whenever an adventurer would arrive, their tone would turn respectful. It wasn't only with Aakesh, but with every adventurer. It was as if they knew about the existence of players.

"Thank you for your kind advice, but I'm prepared," Aakesh responded with a smile.

Aakesh had noticed the receptionist in the training arena looking at his ring with surprise, so before coming here, Aakesh had already taken it out. The ring was also Aakesh's source of confidence for hunting.

The receptionist had done her part by advising Aakesh once, so she didn't try to stop him again. She instead showed the three weakest hunting quests currently available to Aakesh.

{Quest: Hunt Wild Boars

Details: Adventurer, the pheasant farmers have been in troubling situations recently as a group of wild boars has invaded their farms. The wild boars are killing the pheasants on a large scale, increasing the financial woes of the farmers. Please hunt the wild boars and solve the situation.

Mission reward: 300 XP.}

{Quest: Clear Rabbit Nest

Details: Adventurer, there is a rabbit nest not far from the town border. The rabbit numbers have crossed the mark set by the town leader, so hunt the excessive rabbits before they bring harm to the town's crops and people.

Mission reward: 100 XP.}

{Quest: Catch Wolf Cubs

Details: Adventurer, the town hall has recently received information that the silver wolves have exiled one of the groups. The group has three newborn wolf cubs. Bring them back to the town so they can be raised.

Mission reward: 500 XP and 10 bronze coins for each cub; If all three cubs have been captured, 100 bonus XP.}

Aakesh read all three quests one by one. The screen in front of him only contained superficial details about the missions.

After reading all three, Aakesh decided to choose the third one since it offered the highest reward.

Even though Aakesh was Level 1, his attributes weren't of Level 1; they were the stats of someone who had at least reached Level 5, if not more.

After Aakesh chose the third quest, the extra significant details about the wolf group appeared on the next screen.

The receptionist couldn't help but look at Aakesh in surprise. She had only added the wolf quest since it was the third weakest hunting mission in the town hall.

As a rule, the Town hall had to provide the hunter with at least three quests to choose from. This way, the hunter would make the best choice, and it would also reduce the casualties to some extent.

If not for the rule, the receptionist would have never shared the wolf quest with Aakesh.

"Are you sure you want to accept this quest?" The receptionist asked, hoping for Aakesh to get some brains and refuse.

"Yes, I want it," Aakesh smilingly nodded.

The receptionist stopped worrying about Aakesh since it had nothing to do with her, even if he died. To the extent allowed by the rules, she did her best.

[System: "Catch Wolf Cubs" quest accepted]

Soon, the system's melodious female voice rang in Aakesh's head.

The quest contained information about the last sightings of the wolf groups. It was a group of seven wolves with three newborn young cubs; two were young but not mature wolves, while the remaining two were full-fledged wolves.

Since the wolf group was exiled, it meant they must be moving, so the last sighting wouldn't be where Aakesh would find them. Still, it was the location where he could find hints about where they were, so Aakesh decided to leave right away.

Aakesh didn't forget to re-equip the Ring of Abundance. The next moment, a warm current flowed through his body, making him clearly feel his increased strength.

If not for the Ring of Abundance, Aakesh would have never dared to accept the quest. Even if he had somehow taken up the mission, he would have prepared a lot.

But as someone famous once said, in front of overwhelming strength, no strategy matters, and Aakesh felt the same. It wasn't overconfidence. The details clearly stated that the two wolves were only Level 3 and Level 2.

There could be differences in the reports, so Aakesh decided to be cautious in his actions. As for preparing contingency plans, Aakesh didn't have enough money to afford them.

Ten copper coins could get him a Trash level bow, but that was all of Aakesh's wealth. He wasn't going to spend it on a bow when he didn't know "A" about archery.

Aakesh also had the skill "Last Attempt," which allowed him to turn all his attributes into strength and battle for thirty seconds.

Things might seem like Aakesh was rushing, but considering all the factors he had to his advantage, things were going as they should have.
