Chapter 1 - Don't trucks see where they're going?!

My last sight as I lay there in our mangled car with my family was this: "None of us should survive this, please"

Yo!! The name's Aiden brightfil, a 17-year-old former high school student who got caught in a slightly clichéd truck-kun related accident with my family, we woke up in this mysterious new world of maaaagggiccc, surreal I know but here's the thing... it's not as one would expect...

As I read a lot of manga of fantasy worlds, I thought this one would be family-friendly since my family got dragged here with me, but what I got was a harsh reality instead.

We were reincarnated into this village near the sea, Sheates, really far from many other big towns, cities, and other important places, people here were of poor health, and low education, and their only means of income were farming and fishing.

At some drastic point, some parents sell off some of their children as slaves to damned nobles or slave traders to get food on the table.

Those said nobels did nothing to be called "Nobel" they were just pigs who leeched on the suffering of the masses, this sounds a bit harsh how about I say, overgrown orcs wrapped in the finest attires? Seem right.

They don't help improve small villages like mine but yet they send tax collectors to still collect taxes(I see why "tax" is in the name) at some point, they stopped coming because the village was on the brink of ruin and there a disease or something like that....or so they thought!

I've not really liked them since I got to this world, I mean like literally the first few weeks we got here they were huge dicks, frankly, if I didn't have to follow a moral code I'd murder them...with words.

One of the things that truly mattered in this kingdom was how powerful your magic power was and how strong you are, everything else came second and of course, Aristocrats had that in abundance as well, probably passed down from their ancestors or something like that.

My family lived in the farthest part of the village, and despite being how poor the village was, it filled with nice people, Two years ago made a friend here his name was Akeru. I found him lying half dead at the back of our house, he offered he would work for food but, Nope! be my friend instead.

His eyes lit up, I took him home with me, he was too weak to walk so I lent him my shoulder.

Aiden: Hey, you're pretty light you could almost fly.

He couldn't talk due to hunger

(Terrible time for a joke.)

Aiden: Probably shouldn't have said that. Hehe.

I laughed awkwardly.

Oh yeah, my family, I nearly forgot to introduce you to the people that joined me on this trip to another world.

We walked in through the door, and we saw my mother in the open kitchen using her dark magic to cook. Spooky.

My little brother Michael, going from portal to portal with his spatial magic, and the ice queen reading a book, my little sister, Crysta, you can probably already guess hers.

Hmm..... Aiden, Crystabelle, and Micheal I feel our parents might have named us at random.

Anyways let's continue with me and Akeru.

Micheal: Aiden who's this?

Akeru: Oh, he's a boy I found in our backyard, his name is Akeru.

Richard: You shouldn't be bringing strangers home, Aiden.

Aiden: I know, I know, but I don't know, he feels different, I can't feel his magic at all, and you know around here that's a death sentence.

Larisa: Language.

My mom yelled.

Aiden: Sorry mom.

I yelled to reply.

He started to cough out blood and was wheezing, my dad touched him, he was having a cold, again here anything more than a cut is a death sentence, my dad tried using healing magic on him but it didn't work for some reason, I was getting worried, my dad's magic power is off the charts and it's not like he hasn't healed before, well yes but still!

I was scurrying around looking for what to do, I couldn't let a kid my age die after I just made friends with him.

I remembered a little about how viruses that cause cold are weak to heat, lucky for him, I'm a horrible fire user.

Yep, you heard that right, I have horrible magic control but I had to try!....and be extra careful because no amount of goodwill will change the fact that If I'm not careful I might boil him.

We brought a huge bowl of water and stuffed him in there, then I put my hand into the water to create a kind of jacuzzi or was it a hot spring? Who cares?! But my main question was why didn't magically work on him?

Larisa: He's starting to feel better.

My mom said.

Aiden: Really? How could you tell?

Larisa: Mother's intuition.

A few weeks later he was all better.

This was how I met Akeru 2 years ago.

Also how I described how this village was, in the beginning, was true...3 years ago at least but after we got reincarnated here it all changed that, my dad was a contractor in his former life, he helped rebuild the village from scratch, he could have used magic but he said they need to put in the work unless it would be worth nothing, his magic was unknown, he didn't have a specific affinity like us, I can use some other forms of magic too but my main for an attack is fire, Why? Because it's cool.

I'm getting off track here!

Right, we changed the village into a somewhat lively town, it took us a year to figure out our magic and how it worked, and it took another to get settled in and another to help the village and the villagers.

My dad was the one who instigated it, he said he couldn't stand seeing everyone so miserable, I agree, if you have the power to change something, do it!

That line feels hypocritical to me but no one knows my past so, Heh!

In a year we manage to bring smiles to all the depressed and oppressed people of sheates.

My parents were still worried about my education since I would become dumber if I don't go to a school or would be too cocky since I have a vast capacity of mana and would let it go to my "empty" head. Rude, right? Tell me about it.

Who am I talking to?

But they were no regular schools here that could teach us according to what my dad told me, only royal magic ones and I'm sure as hell they wouldn't let a bunch of commoners in there even if they have to kill themselves. I would so watch that.

Anyways, the examination begins in a month so I have to get prepared, I shouldn't be too cocky, Hehehe.

Larisa: Oh, your sister is coming with you too.

Aiden: Huh?! WHYYY?!

After screaming that I felt cold all of a sudden like my body could no longer move like it was encased in ice...oh wait...

Aiden: Ahh! She froze me!

The worse news I got today was that my sister was coming with me, we may have had a one-year age difference (I'm the older one) but probably having her in the same class as me was slightly embarrassing.

Since we came to this new world her personality and mine have kinda been altered, normally I'd be the one who would be reading the book and she'd be the one narrating.

There's nothing anyone can do about it! Y'all are stuck with me!

Again who am I talking to?

******************

*One month later*

We were dressed in our finest burlap sacks and ready to g- Ahhhh!!

Aiden: P-please s-stop f-f-freezing me!

I said while chattering my teeth.

Crystal: Get out of that burlap sack, get dressed, and let's go.

Aiden: Fine, Fine, I wearing it as a joke to annoy the Aristocrats in case we met them and besides we have Micheal who has spatial magic, we'll be fine and we'll also arrive early.

Micheal: You do realize that I can't go there if I don't know where it is, right?

Aiden: I forgot...ahh, I do need to go to school.

I knelt in shame for forgetting.

Larisa: Don't worry, Aiden. Your father took him there last month, so it would be easier for you, cheer up Aiden.

Mom said trying to cheer me up and I was indeed cheered up.

*Portal opens*

Michael: Okay, Bro and sis and Aiden, good luck!

Aiden: Hey! But I'm your brother! And wait you're not coming with us?

Micheal: There's a new school for kids my age in the next village over, mum and dad are taking me, but I can still watch you guys through a small portal, though.

Aiden: Heh, great news, no more siblings are following me. I'll see you later bye.

I sneered at him.

Hehe, we may be an otherworldly family but I'm sure as hell not going to spend school years babysitting.

Our family split up into two groups, me, Crysta, and Akeru, and the other my mum, dad, and Mikey.

We walked into the portal as it closed behind us, We're off to Royal magic school, peace out!

*Portal closes*
