"Where are you going?" Sora asked Aurora immediately she spotted her running down the stairs that led to their garage.
Aurora mind-linked Sora, "I'm going for a run." She lied.
"Again? How many times do you have to run in a day?" Sora asked again through a mind link since Aurora wasn't in sight.
"I need to do something, Mrs Horatio," she proclaimed, already inside the garage. "I'll be back soon."
"Be careful," Sora warned worriedly. Her granddaughter had been staying out late for the past few days which she never did. Before dusk, Aurora was already in her room locked up unless she needed to do something as a leader to the pack fighters but it seems her time to return home had changed.
Aurora on her own had been called out by Sage and she had merrily jumped out of her bed even when she had returned from a run a few hours before he called. She took the garage to convince Sora that she was truly going for a run. She got to the garage and hurried out down to her cottage gate. There she saw Sage already waiting for her to arrive. He pulled her into a hug and they both headed to his house to spend time together. Sneaking into his house to avoid his father, they went straight to his room.
"I wasn't able to scan your room the other time but I would say it looks manly," she complimented as Sage led her to his deck where the moon had shone brightly on.
"Really?" Sage inquired, staring largely into her hazel eyes.
"Yep," she replied and sat on a stool in front of a telescope that Sage used to watch the sky.
"If you say so, then, what does yours look like?" he enquired and stood beside her, setting the telescope.
"Just a nerdy room," she replied.
Sage finally fixed the telescope up to the sky and helped her adjust it to fit her eye. Aurora stared into the sky and chuckled. "The stars are beautiful," she whispered.
"My dad gave me the telescope on my eighteenth birthday after I required a cell phone. I got angry and abandoned it but each time I felt lonely, I searched for it and sat down here watching the sky. Looking at the sky and seeing how pretty the stars are, I felt like I could know their thoughts so I decided to study psychology."
"Can you read my thoughts?" Aurora asked, shifting away from the telescope to look at him.
Sage shook his head, "I don't think so," he replied and she giggled.
"I don't want you to either." She implied and they went mute.
"What are you thinking about?" Aurora asked and nudged him to sit beside her. After their kiss the other night, she started to grow feelings for him. She felt he was protective and intelligent like what she wanted. She tried not to think of the fact that his mate could come to find him someday. She doesn't want to care, she just wanted to adore him.
Sage twisted his head to her and they both maintained eye contact, "I'm thinking of asking you out again," he told her.
"You may try," She conveyed.
"Does that mean you are going to accept my proposal?"
"Say it first?"
"Be my girlfriend, Au_"
Aurora cut him shut, "I will," she said and giggled.
"Are you sure? We're official?" Sage asked amused. He wasn't expecting it so soon, "You'll be my mate?"
"I might change my mind soon,"
"You are doing no such thing!" He snapped and wrapped his hands over her, "You're mine and mine from now on," he retorted, earning a laugh from Aurora.
"You wish," she pouted and groaned when she felt his lips kissing her collarbone.
"Aurora?" He hummed, struggling to fight the dangling of his wolf.
"Ye… yes?" She shuttered from his flicker.
"Let me_'' he growled when he felt his claws probing out and his canine penetrating. He buried his head into her neck and smooched her skin with his tongue, "I can't be doing this."
"What are you doing, Sage?" Aurora whispered as she grabbed onto his coat to stabilize her twitching self.
"Let me claim you. I'll do it gently and it won't hurt."
"You haven't proven your love to me," she divulged and let out a gasp when she felt his canines on her skin. She moved her hands to his neck as she felt her breath gone. She didn't know if she should stop him or let him claim her. She just enjoyed what he was doing to her body.
"Let me prove it with this," he mumbled and grabbed her tightly on her neck as he began to dig his canines into her skin.
"Stop!" Aurora clamoured but Sage was sure he heard two voices. One came from Aurora and the other through his mind link but he ignored it.
Just when he was about to fully devour her neck, the door slammed open and he heard his mother's voice.
"Stop it, Sage!" She cried out through the mind link, trotting her way to the deck. She didn't want Aurora to hear what she was going to say, "Stop or she dies!" Instantly he drew from Aurora knowing he had to listen to his mother.
Sage's wolf groaned when he pulled back from Aurora, listening to his mother's warning. His claws and canines disappeared but his dark eyes still shone out. Confused with his mother's connotation, he looked up to see her trotting towards them.
"What do you mean?" He mind-linked.
"She mustn't be claimed by you or she dies," Zara tried to explain.
"She dies?" He conveyed as his gaze met with Aurora. She was already clutching onto her neck, whimpering. He shifted back to her and pulled her hands away from her neck. Thankfully, he had only stung her just a little.
"You, Why did you stop?" Aurora implored looking up at him with her teary eyes.
Sage stared back at Zara who was already beside him and his hands dropped from her. He moved back from her while Zara probed to where she sat.
"Oh!" Aurora mouthed thinking Sage had stopped because of his mother.
"How do you feel?" Zara asked her.
"Drawn to him," she conceded, caressing where he had stung her. With one more glimpse, Sage growled and ran out of his room, leaving Aurora to ponder on why he left hurriedly after when he was about to claim her.
