Aurora smelled Sage from where she stood listening to the King's message to those present in the Academy. She tried hard not to track the scent but she when she couldn't take it for too long, she leapt up from her seat and traced the scent.
Sage saw her looking all over for him but he wasn't ready to meet with her. After his discussion with his mother about her meeting the seer, he tried his best to avoid her. But it was hard for him too.
Just then he heard her mind link him, "Sage please show yourself," she conveyed, still trying to trace his scent.
He fists his hands into a ball. He wasn't ready to face her but staying away from her could be the worst for him. He groaned, turned back and made his way back through the entrance. He stopped at an abrupt end when he smelled her closer. He raised his head a little bit only to see her standing some meters away, folding her hands over her bosom. With the look in her eyes, he knew she was already angry.
"Why are you here?" She inquired through her mind-link, shockingly to him, "Where are you going to?"
"Which of the answers should I give to you?" He threw back his question, tugged his hands into his pocket and resumed walking out. He passed through her as she fixed her gaze on him, trying to comprehend why he was acting all strange.
"Stop Sage!" She commanded with a growl but Sage didn't give ears to her order. She heaved a heavy sigh to cool off her temper. Sage was getting on her nerves with him acting like they haven't had a thing together. His reasons, she never knew.
She ran to him, jerked him to a stop and went to the front so she could face him. Then she ran a soft but painful slap across his face, earning a groan from him. "Serves you right!" She snarled gazing into his dark eyes. Hence, she noticed a wearied look on his face which she knew wasn't caused by her slap. Leading herself to stand on her toes for her to attain his height, she pecked him on his lips and redrawn. When she saw he wouldn't react to her kiss, she repeated it and the third time, he finally gave in. He pulled her closer and growled when his wolf dangled excitedly inside his head.
Fighting his wolf off, he lowers his forehead to meet with her just staring at her face in the dusk. He then bites her lower lips while Aurora moans to her arousal and hugs him tightly, earning more bites from her.
Sage didn't think twice before he clasped his lips on hers, widening her mouth with his tongue to drill deeper. They kissed passionately, caressing their hands on every part of their body where their hands could reach, ignoring the fact that they were standing in front of the Academy.
When they finally pulled to catch their breath, they interlocked their hands still in the embrace of each other.
"It's okay if you won't claim me," Aurora whispered into his ears, "I'll wait until you're ready, just don't stop loving me."
"I… I'm sorry, I…" he paused not knowing how he could explain to Aurora why he'd stop.
"It's okay," She mumbled. Just then, the giant door to the Academy creaked open and the two had to disengage from the hug when they saw the King trotting out. Sage spared Aurora a glance and took her hands, dragging her down with him towards Alpha Cowell.
The King's face lightened up immediately after he saw them. He has also been shocked to know that two of his lovely associates were mated to each other. But then, it can't happen if Sage wasn't ready to lose his dear mate. At that moment, he felt the urge to confront Aurora about why she mustn't mate with Sage. But he pushed the thought away. Who knows what Aurora would do when she got to know that Sage was her mate? What if she rejects him? They looked good together so breaking the closeness between them wouldn't cause anything but pain.
Sage and Aurora bowed to their King in respect while Alpha Cowell kept grinning from ear to ear. He noticed Aurora felt shy with Sage holding her hands in front of him.
He decided to play the game along with them. "You two must have something you might want to explain to me and before that, I thought I was having an important meeting not quite long and you guys were supposed to pertain in it but here you are locking hands." He whined.
"We're sorry your highness," Sage pleaded his head still bowed.
"So, can I know what's happening here?" He inquired and started to make his way to where his car has been packed.
"Aurora is now my mate," he relayed knowing what the King was up to.
"Aurora?" the King called, his hands crossed to his back.
"Yes, your highness," she answered gloomily.
"Do you agree with him?"
"Yes, your highness," she answered.
Then the King came to an abrupt stop and veered around, "Good," he said to Aurora and faced Sage, "I'll rip you apart if you hurt her," he proclaimed.
"Yes, your highness," Sage mumbled trying hard not to laugh.
The King then trotted away leaving them all alone while pack members began to make their way home.
"Let's go for a run, what do you think?" Sage proposed and when Aurora was about to give him an answer, someone interrupted her. It was Fennick. This time Sage didn't mind and nodded his bow at him.
"I will join you guys," he announced to their astonishment.
"I sensed you're keeping something from me, Fennick," Aurora uttered and crossed her arms over her bosom eyeing him.
Fennick arched his eyebrows at her, "What do mean?"
"And you're starting to lie to me."
"Oh! Shut up, Rora. You're the one not telling me anything only for me to discover you guys are now together after lying to me that you're not interested in him."
"You said that?" Sage inquired her. Aurora gave him no reply and started walking away.
Sage ran after her followed by Fennick, "Answer me, Rora!" He bellowed only to be pulled backwards by Fennick. He growled at him while Fennick pouted his lips.
"What do you just say?"
"What is that?!" Sage barked.
"I, Fennick, am the only person that has every right to call her Rora. It shouldn't be coming from your mouth," he notified and smirked.
Sage scoffed, "She is my mate!" He snapped earning a peal of laughter from Fennick who was already on the run to meet Aurora.
"She's my best friend!"
