Chapter 32 - Floor 3

Ayo sat down looking through his tab.

'It seems going into gates don't do much to me...'

Ayo was frowning right now, he was frowning as he looked down at his status window.

"Oi! Phanes, why didn't you tell me about this?"

[Forgive me, I forgot to mention]

[Every time you defeat a gate you will suffer a backlash, the more you focus on gates outside, without defeating the tower. The more you get weaker]

"You just want to force me on the tower huh? What's all that bull shit about not making me stronger outside your comfort zone."

[It is a temporary measure to prepare you for what is to come]

"You mean what has started?"

[The gates are the least you should be worried about right now. I told you, terror is coming to Earth]

Ayo let out a soft sigh and folded his arms, bearing down at his fist.

He stood up and stretched his whole body.

"Alright let's start, I'll have you support me, Cock boy"

"Kareugh!"

The green orc that had been bending as his chair all the while shot up and clenched his fist with a delighted face, and brandished his tusk like a mustache.

Ayo looked at him once again with his hand below his chin, "It fits better than I thought it will." He commented and smiled.

On Cocky's neck, there was a bow tie, a black bow tie that seemed out of place with his ragged tribal wear.

Ayo swung out a short sword and a dagger from his inventory, they were something he got as drop items from hunting gates in the past few days.

He had carefully divided the benefits of the two entities, the gates, and the tower. The tower provided him with growth, and completing the quest gives him store points but since Phanes, uh uh, his laziness system took over, he had not seen the store so he couldn't say for now.

But hunting in gates granted Ayo drop items and monster cores. It was a very strange phenomenon and if anything it was supposed to be the other way round.

It's just quite sad that he would get weaker should he focus on gates alone. This calls for a balance.

'How can I balance this?'

As he asked himself, he swirled his sword and shot forward, hurtling his legs through the ground as if his speed was too fast for his legs to catch up, almost as though he was drunken, everything became a blow.

From Cocky's point of view, Ayo shot forward with an amazing speed that left him bewildered. His eyes shone with respect as he watched but there was no time to stay that way.

He was supposed to be a support after all.

Although he was not as fast as Ayo, he picked up his pace and ran from behind with ground-cracking steps.

Ayo swung his sword with his body and began to tear slashes into the pack of lunar wolves that collided with both of them.

First of all, the beautiful moonlit night was quickly adorned by an awestrucking paint of blue blood as Ayo smoothly drove his short sword through the sides of the wolf, lowering himself when he needed to and even when they thought that had successfully launched a perfect surprise from above.

The dagger in his left hand shows up for the rescue.

The way Ayo exchanged the sword and dagger, switching from left to right and right to left, in order of importance was fluid.

If anything, they reflected his experience on one hand and on the other hand caused the cocky Orc to adore him the more.

Amidst a cumbersome crowd of wolves, Ayo showed no struggle, deftly stabbing the wolves on their neck with on-point precision, twirling his dagger through his hand to stab the raised head of another.

He cut a vertical slash on another one, separating its leaped body into two.

That gave him enough space to escape from their clogging.

It was as if they were smart, they kept pouring more to his side and running away from a particular one, Ayo wondered why he was having so much to deal with when he clearly had support.

It was then he turned his eyes around to see where Cocky was dealing with things.

He frowned, 'This bastard?'

The bitch was really riding the wolves? Really?!

Ayo was dumbfounded.

Of course, he has suspected the hypothesis that monsters in the tower might not be hostile towards each other but he needed to test it out. Still, this was the height of annoyance.

Even if the wolves wanted to be rode, is Cocky not his copied monster, is that damn orc so dumb that it didn't know that helping his master was more paramount than riding wolves?

Ayo bowed his head in annoyance. But on a second note...

He slowly raised his head and observed a second time.

'Strangely he looks happy.'

Ayo thought to himself. Because he has not gotten enough floor master point to reanimate the second floor, Cocky has been the only one staying there. Living.

He even built himself a new lonely hurt while Ayo was away. Ayo saw the gladness in his eyes when he entered the tower, he was so glad that he happily became a stool for Ayo to sit on.

Well, it wasn't like he would have objected if he wasn't happy. Once copied, the monsters saw him as their master. Nothing could change that, even if it displeases them, they follow his command.

'I wonder if he will listen should I tell him to kill the wolves.'

Ayo twirled the short sword and stabbed it down into the skull of the wolf that was about to grab his legs, he slashed the sword forward and out of it, causing an azure blood arc to follow. Some spilled on him but he didn't mind.

By now, the wolves were already being skeptical about their attacks

"Oii!"

Cocky did not realize he had left his job description until Ayo called his name.

He sharply came down from the wolf and pushed it away like he was never riding it, the wolf was sad at the sudden strangers' attitude but it switched gaze to Ayo and began to snarl at him.

"Kill it."

Ayo's eyes narrowed to a slit as he gave a straightforward command to Cocky.
