Chapter 33 - Selvarin (1)

Ayo was serious about his command. It was evident in the way he glared at the orc.

There were two reasons as to why he was doing this. One was to test his hypothesis, to see the reach of his authority over the Orc's decision, and two was to instill discipline.

'I have made a lot of mistakes in my past life, I won't repeat it'

With someone of his power, he was too careless, he disregarded people and didn't give much importance to the establishment of hierarchy. For him who was very strong, he could easily break hierarchy and didn't feel the need to establish an order of rank between him and his mates.

The only thing he cared about was sleeping and resting. Really, he just wanted to sleep.

But that brought a lot of regret, the betrayal from his best friend was just the height of it, a lot had happened that he had condoned.

And he wish he could do things right in this world, he was not going to be a fool again.

Cocky's shivered as he removed the axe hung on his back. He looked at the wolf with teary eyes and looked at Ayo's fierce gaze.

Cocky's brows slowly creased into a frown and he raised the axe, bringing it down. The head of the wolf that was still gnarling at Ayo rolled to the ground.

They were already scanty compared to when Ayo collided with them. All of them turned their murderous gaze to Cocky, transitioning from friends to enemies real quick.

Ayo grinned, this was exactly what he wanted.

"Now fight."

He twirled the short sword, holding to point to his elbow and the same with the dagger. He dove into the wolves and they responded with the same energy.

This time, his stats were failing him, Ayo undoubtedly was filled with experiences but with a body, he was not used to and nerfed physical stats. There was little to the effects he could bring.

Usually, he would have finished this many wolves in one minute, the number was a hassle which was why it would take that long but right now, it's been over five minutes and he was still busy cleaving flesh.

'Tch'

Ayo smacked his lips in frustration at how powerless he has become.

His breath was irregular and becoming heavy, he knew what that meant, so he somersault and put more distance between himself and the little number of wolves that were hesitantly snarling. Six to be precise.

Cocky, however, was like a hell that has been let loose. It was hard to think he had compassion toward these wolves a moment before now.

He brutally sliced them with his axe and threw their bodies up like they were doughnuts. Effortlessly chopping them.

Ayo felt intimidated, by what he was saying, he might as well say Cocky was stronger than he was. This was very annoying to him, he defeated Cocky even though it took one or two struggles but because he entered the gate he lost power.

And didn't even know until he had come back to the tower.

Was this really how things were going to be from now on? He would get stronger in the tower only to get weaker in the gates.

He sighed inwardly as he recollected the system's response.

'Let's just hope this is some temporary measure as Phanes insinuated.'

He adjusted his fist on the handles of both weapons and went forward.

The wolves this time were beginning to fall behind, scared of him.

They were dodging each swing and running away with their tails in between their legs.

'What the hell?'

Ayo was left dumbfounded.

At the very least he was able to gain a few level-ups, but that was not his aim.

He wanted to surpass floor ten.

So he needed to defeat the floor master. Just when he was thinking that the floor began to tremble.

He frowned but Cocky shrank back like a shrimp.

Soon, from the horizon that divided the rocky planes from the dark sky came a ponderous wolf. Standing at a staggering 2.07 meters, the figure was a true expression of magnificence, its furs shimmered like liquid movements of the moonlight, cascading in silvery waves down its majestic body.

[Monster Info]

Name: Lunar Wolf (Selvarin)

Level: 10

Attack Power: 250

Defense Power: 400

Skill: Aura Of Command(D)lv.max, Lunar Heal(C)lv.max.

'This is the first time I'm seeing a monster with a skill section, plus two skills? Two.'

Ayo grimaced, apart from the creature's imposing figure, he was sure he would be able to deal with it. But the height, the wolf was standing equal to his height, perhaps even taller, considering that it was on all fours and Ayo was on twos.

Regardless of the mountain of indecision that disturbed his mind, Ayo spun his sword and ran forward, speeding zig-zag as he closed in on the monster with an amazing speed.

The wolf darted at him like an arrow released from the tight grip of its bow. The two of them met and sparks accompanied with sounds of steel clashing against steel reverberated into the cold night.

Ayo was not expecting what just happened, they had exchanged three blows but all three were perfectly deflected by the wolf's paw.

'Paw?'

Not just that, but the strength that Ayo could feel each time the wolf deflected his attack. It was unreasonable, his hand went flinging backward each time. How was it even managing to raise its fangs in the first place? Is it steel?

There was little time for Ayo to process these thoughts–the wolf gnashed his teeth at him but a belatedly second early, Ayo had ducked. 0.0001 seconds later and he would have secured a severe injury.

That duck was the perfect position to disturb the flow of how things had been between him and the wolf. It was not advisable but Ayo went crazy.

He dropped grappled the wolf and lunged himself forward, crashing to the ground along with the wolf. But the monster's fangs were too sharp, it threw its legs around grazing Ayo's body with wounds on different parts while Ayo was trying to hold it down.

'Fuck fuck fuck fuck'

Ayo was a fast learner when it came to vulgar words, he struggled to hold the wolf down, with its massive body and strength. It was impossible. If he continued to be persistent he was probably going to bleed out or get stabbed by the wolf's sharp fangs.

He needed to back away and restrategize.

Just when he was about to, Ayo squeezed his grip on the dagger, and even though it was an uncomfortable position, he pushed his hand anger the rocky ground and drove the dagger into the wolf's shoulder.

In a respiting moment of such great pain, the wolf threw its leg with a scream. The strength it gathered was enough to launch Ayo away from it, leaving his dagger stuck to its neck.

Ayo rolled in the air and managed to land on his legs. Such acrobatics were not too hard to pull since he was already very used to it.

He gritted his teeth in pain and anger, several areas from his favorite tracksuit were torn. But thanks to his low-rank regeneration, the pain was getting manageable.

Now, how does he put an end to this stubborn Selvarin?
